Now that the evenings are getting darker I feel sad that summer is ending .. and pissed off with the "cosy" people !! I hate winter .. what is "cosy" about bumbling about in the dark and scraping ice off your car, getting fat with stodgy food , seeing all the shit sentimental Christmas TV adverts and being pale , corpse like and with drizzled on hair !!! .. this is light hearted but I just don't get it ! .... I've stayed away from the " We hate summer" threads as instructed as they were not for me ... so now it's my turn !!

I know Alice, like that’s enough to get you through 8 months of cold and drIzzle. Oh well at least I’ve had a fried apple, kicked some leaves and collected conkers! That makes it all better.....

Don’t forget it’s sick bug and flu bug and fuck knows what else bug season as well.

Fucking great.

Yep, I’m never ill April-Sept, it’s so nice.
Hate cold and flu season.

I like all the seasons. The problem this year in the East / South East was we had no spring and the summer heat with high humidity was relentless. It felt oppressive and claustrophobic. It was probably nice / tolerable in other parts of the country.

I think you are right Niles
We have had a fabulous summer here in Yorkshire. Temperatures averaged sround the mid 20s most of the time.

It has well and truly ended now. Today was13 degrees and wet.

I'm looking forward to Autumn, which usually starts around about the 21st September. I like all the seasons and this summer has been fantastic weather-wise. My son has gone back to school but for some reason I'm really looking forward to Autumn/Winter this year whereas last year I wasn't really feeling it.

Downside is I hate having the heating on.

Spring and summer totally rock. Everything seems easier and winter, say from November to end of March, seems to be dark, complicated and expensive. My DH seems to think it makes sense to put the heating on full whack, sit in shorts and open the windows when he gets stuffy!? I remind him gas is getting more expensive and that we may as well be setting fire to five pound notes but he just shrugs...2018 was bonkers with the heat-wave, but I guess that followed the Beast from the East in March 2018. May be global warming is more impactful than we think www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45399134
