What's happened to having a bit of pride in yourself?

I am genuinely asking this question out of curiosity not being inflammatory but I will no doubt be accused of this in typical mnet style! Anyway here goes-

I don't understand why some women are so proud of the fact that the first thing they do when they get home is to take their bra off and put pjs on.

A) I don't have time as when I get in from work there's stuff to do.
B) why would you want to sit there with everything dangling about

I think it is much better for your state of mind to have a bit of pride In Yourself, to wear a bit of makeup, clean clothes, brush your hair etc. On another note if your bra is so uncomfortable you're wearing the wrong bra!

Hmm
BIWI · 18/08/2018 19:13

Why on earth would you/can you not understand that it might be about being comfortable in your own home?

Good on you if there's stuff to do that you have to do in your work clothes, with full make up and high heels.

The rest of us are enjoying a bit of comfortable down time.

ElainaElephant · 18/08/2018 19:14

Oooh it's popcorn time!

LML83 · 18/08/2018 19:14

Can't pretend to care what others look like in the privacy of their own home or why they make that choice. Hmm

AnyFucker · 18/08/2018 19:15

Do you make sure there is a ribbon in your hair and your white gloves are pristine too ? Hmm

Tallula386 · 18/08/2018 19:15

Love taking my bra off and tying my hair up once I'm in from work.
Much more comfy to do housework in trackies or pjs!!

Topsyshair · 18/08/2018 19:15

Are you KatieHopkins?

Why do you care what other women wear in their own homes?

Pippylou · 18/08/2018 19:15

It is much better for my state of mind not to be uncomfortable and irritated. Makeup and bras are both irritating...I have sensory issues tho, so I have issues with lots of clothes. I think most people like to relax, it's not unreasonable.

RJnomore1 · 18/08/2018 19:15

I absolutely do take pride in myself.

I won't tell you how much I spend on my hair nails makeup etc because I'd be run off.

But when I'm home and not going out or expecting anyone why would I want to sit trussed like a turkey when I can be in my lovely pjs and comfortable ?

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 18/08/2018 19:16

Ok hun thanks for the feedback 👍🏻

I’ll continue to take my make up off and get into pjs after work anyhow.

LouLouLove · 18/08/2018 19:16

ha ha ha ha ha! Whatever time I get home it's bra off, rings off, track suit/pj's on and...... relax. I scrape my hair back and take my make up off too. Today I did this at 5pm when I got home and it felt wonderful. Husband and son do the same too, although no make up or bra to take off for them but definitely comfy clothes/pj's on!

Tallula386 · 18/08/2018 19:16

Also, mine don't dangle. Perfectly pert thanks Wink

glintandglide · 18/08/2018 19:16

Where are you getting the idea that this is some kind of common phonomenem? And why do you care?

You really remind me of a friend who had really old fashioned ideas instilled by her mum - exactly that- you should wear make up, don’t let yourself go for your husband, don’t be one of those women who let themselves go and their husbands are embarrassed etc etc. She was brought up seeing a Massively sexist, and it turned out, violent relationship as her example. Really sad

ProfessorMoody · 18/08/2018 19:16

Don't you think it's a bit sad that you care?

Faster · 18/08/2018 19:17

I don’t even shave my armpits any more. And I’m going grey. At 33. I’m clearly a slovenly waste of a woman.

HerRoyalFattyness · 18/08/2018 19:17

I have autism and find my work uniform quite restrictive. Much comfier in PJs. I guess a lot of NT people are much comfier in PJs too. 🤷‍♀️
Why does it bother you what other people do in their own home?
If they're happy then leave them to it. Just because you aren't happy to lounge around in PJs doesn't mean you shpuld begrudge others.

SmilingButClueless · 18/08/2018 19:17

Why on earth are you equating wearing makeup with taking pride in yourself? It’s not a mandatory part of female grooming!

NaomiNagata · 18/08/2018 19:17

I agree!! But I am fully aware that I'm the odd one out. I won't wear my pyjamas outside of my bedroom. If the kids are ill or there's an emergency then I will come out in pyjamas, but on a normal day I will get showered and dressed before I leave my room and won't get changed until I'm getting into bed. It's just me and 2 small kids but I still don't want to sit around like that!

Fancyaruck · 18/08/2018 19:17

Have my very first Biscuit.

zeeboo · 18/08/2018 19:18

I'm incredibly proud of myself. I practice my craft, I read voraciously, I keep educated and my mind is sharp. You want me to be vain when I could be proud of who I AM rather than what gloop I shove in my face or elastic I bind my rib cage with.

BlairWaldorfsHeadband · 18/08/2018 19:18

Why would this bother you?

onedayonedaymaybe · 18/08/2018 19:20

I LOVE LOVE taking my bra off after a day of work and putting on my comfy clothes. And shock horror I even venture outside in the garden with no bra and sometimes talk to my neighbours, oh the horror. Grow up, I feel sorry for people like you. Hope your not a bore with every aspect of your life!

Frogscotch7 · 18/08/2018 19:20

I never wear makeup. I think it’s a shame people can’t take more pride in how they look without any.

SaucyJack · 18/08/2018 19:20

I take great pride in my Gryffindor t-shirt that I slob about at home in. I do wear a soft bra underneath tho-
don’t like dangly tits either.

ArmySal · 18/08/2018 19:20

Hahahahahahahahaaa
