What's happened to having a bit of pride in yourself?

I am genuinely asking this question out of curiosity not being inflammatory but I will no doubt be accused of this in typical mnet style! Anyway here goes-

I don't understand why some women are so proud of the fact that the first thing they do when they get home is to take their bra off and put pjs on.

A) I don't have time as when I get in from work there's stuff to do.
B) why would you want to sit there with everything dangling about

I think it is much better for your state of mind to have a bit of pride In Yourself, to wear a bit of makeup, clean clothes, brush your hair etc. On another note if your bra is so uncomfortable you're wearing the wrong bra!

If you don’t have time to whip your bra off before getting on with “stuff” YOU’RE doing it wrong.

Try to be more efficient.

Chocolala · 18/08/2018 19:33

Make up sucks, I can’t be bothered with hair dye anymore, and bras aren’t comfy by the end of the day if you have huge boobs.

I don’t need to please any one else, and I’m actually, finally, happy with myself.

Bras are imperative. I wear one to keep my tits down.
The pert crowd can't match that now, can you?

I don't take my bra off when I get home because I never wear one WinkShock.

MikeUniformMike · 18/08/2018 19:35

I get changed as soon as I get in. Into 'around-the-house' clothes including soft bra.

JosieB68 · 18/08/2018 19:36

Genuinely cannot think of anything better than coming home from work and jammies on, love it!

NotUmbongoUnchained · 18/08/2018 19:36

I agree with you outside of the house, but inside really?

AliasGrape · 18/08/2018 19:38

I love taking my bra off, sometimes I even undo it on the way home. I’m plenty proud of myself though.

My boobs do not dangle thank you very much and I change into my jammies as soon as I can when I get home so does dd.

ghostyslovesheets · 18/08/2018 19:40

I never wear makeup - I prefer how I look without

I have beautiful PJ's and nowt dangles about

I tend to run when I get home - I then shower - why would I put clothes back on?

if taking pride for you means wearing slap and a bra fair enough

I disagree

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 18/08/2018 19:40

"Women, know your place". Hmm

PlainVanilla · 18/08/2018 19:40

What people do in their own homes is of no concern to me, but I belong to a different generation.
I do think it sad that, when out and about, a lot of people, both male & female, feel it is acceptable to expose vast amounts of wobbly fat in clothing that leaves nothing much to the imagination.

scrumplepaper · 18/08/2018 19:40

Why do you care what someone else wears or doesn't wear in the privacy of their own home?

I'm currently in yoga pants, loose top and crop bra. Which is actually awful like pjamas.

Hepzibar · 18/08/2018 19:42

OP don't have any wild and dangerous opinions of your own to upset applecart

bridgetreilly · 18/08/2018 19:43

Sitting in my pyjamas, no bra, curled up on the sofa full of pride in who I am and everything I've achieved today, thanks.

stargirl1701 · 18/08/2018 19:43

I do take pride in myself but it's not related to my appearance.

No bras are comfortable! Very few clothes are comfortable. Why would you wear torture devices in your own home?

My body has been incredible over the last few years. Carried and birthed two babies, and breastfed one. I'm in awe of the power of my body. I never realised any of this before. It was just a way of moving my brain around. You might think it's dangly and saggy but I am woman, hear me fucking roar.

Gottagetmoving · 18/08/2018 19:44

Pride in yourself means different things to different people.
I have no idea how wearing a bra equates to having pride in yourself....no idea at all.

ScrommidgeClaryAndSpunt · 18/08/2018 19:45

OP, thanks for putting in my head.

(Not a pop at Andy Williams, and Burt Bacharach and Hal David wrote some good stuff, but jaysus! the words)

PortiaCastis · 18/08/2018 19:45

I'm also proud that I birthed a baby and got shot of her judgemental father

Pebblespony · 18/08/2018 19:46

Ah damn. I really enjoyed doing that. But now that you disapprove, I'll have to stop.

BigBlueBubble · 18/08/2018 19:47

I change into loungewear when I get home. Not pyjamas - just comfy clothes. Maybe jersey trousers and a sweater in winter, or a cotton maxi dress in summer. I look respectable if anyone visits or if I need to pop out or take the dog out. I wouldn’t want to wear something that was obviously pyjamas before it was about 9pm and I was definitely in for the night. Apart from anything else I’d feel weird sitting at the table having dinner in pyjamas!
