Totally in-appropriate outfits for toddler session

So this afternoon me and dd went to a holiday toddler session just in our village hall where the usual group meets up.

Ok so I get it's hot but today we had women pushing 40 (and I'm one myself) with skimpy cut off jean shorts revealing butt cheeks and chafing between the legs (to the point where 1 little boy said to his mummy "I can see that lady's bottom!!!) and dresses and skirts so short when people were bending over to play they were flashing knickers that were maybe white a long time ago and boobs hanging out of very low vest tops nearly popping out!!!

I had to laugh at one of my friends tho - she just smiled and said "the weather brings them all out" which certainly seemed to be the case today.

No idea why people felt this was appropriate!!!!! Why do they do it????

It's too hot to care OP. I've popped to my supermarket in tiny shorts and a vest top while it's been hot. I'm probably too old and fat for them but I couldn't give a toss.

It's just a bit of arse cheek. We all have them.

Cuppaorwine · 07/08/2018 22:24

I am 50 op and a Nanna and I bet I could whip your arse in the hot stakes.

I think you are a lying about the playgroup leader telling other women how to dress. Don’t be so ridiculous.

You posted a spiteful thread and made that up to justify yourself.

Bore off

LadyRussell · 07/08/2018 22:24

You sound judgemental but I don’t like seeing barely teenage girls in those teeny tiny denim shorts it’s indecent and inappropriate and I don’t think they realise it can make them unknowingly vulnerable.

mikado1 · 07/08/2018 22:26

'Traditionally used'!! 😂 Is there another option I don't know about? That's a gross prospect though Saucy !!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 07/08/2018 22:27

Women of all ages should be able to wear what they want LadyRussell without worrying about being vulnerable. The problem is not with them.

ShirleyPhallus · 07/08/2018 22:28

Mumsnet really is a parody of itself sometimes.

I do not believe for one tiny second that if a woman was standing in such short shorts, bent over that you could see her bum cheeks and tits falling out of a low cut top af a toddler event, that every single person on this thread wouldn’t raise their eyebrows internally for just a moment.

IMO it’s way too hot to wear anything but skimpies or light dresses but the moral outrage on this thread is amusing and highly dubious

bobstersmum · 07/08/2018 22:32

It's been quite cold here today!

Wherismymind · 07/08/2018 22:34

People should be able to wear what they want without being shamed.

It's fucking hot, maybe they can't afford to buy new clothes that fit better so are just making do with what they have.

Keep your ageist judgments to yourself.

WhoWants2Know · 07/08/2018 22:38

Maybe spend more time looking after your children and you won't find yourself starting at arses that offend you.

SossidgeRoll · 07/08/2018 22:39

women pushing 40 ...with skimpy cut off jean shorts revealing butt cheeks and chafing between the legs

Best. Toddler group. Ever.

Totally agree - but nothing worse than seeing a 12/13 yr old girl walking around town with her arse cheeks hanging out, Adult men perving and the girl enjoying the attention.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 07/08/2018 22:43

Really? You think the 12/13 year old girl is to blame here and not the adult men perving?

Greenglassteacup · 07/08/2018 22:44

No need to put a dash in your inappropriate OP Grin

LyndorCake · 07/08/2018 22:45

Saucy are people wanding round your town in arseless chaps or something?? I've never seen "inner arse cheek" or a mucky bum out in public. And since I'm pretty small, I'm not far off being arse height.

LadyRussell · 07/08/2018 22:45

Really? You think the 12/13 year old girl is to blame here and not the adult men perving

Where did I say the girl was to blame?

Do you not think 12/13 yrs old is way to young to be trying to look sexy?

sourpatchkid · 07/08/2018 22:47

Wow - I'd seriously be avoiding your playgroup. A bunch of you (and not the ones with arses out) sound awful!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 07/08/2018 22:48

You said the girl was enjoying the attention. So putting some blame on to her for wearing shorts that attract unwanted attention from adult men.

It's the men at fault here not the young girls.

GreatDuck

Hear hear!

LadyRussell

If you are looking at 12/13 year old girls in any other way than to smile at their fashion choices and makeup tries you must be disturbed.

Anyone who uses the words indecent, inappropriate, vulnerable in the same sentence as a 12/13 year old girl or any woman for that matter needs help.

CaptainBrickbeard · 07/08/2018 22:51

I did see a girl at a bus stop wearing thong shorts. Really, genuinely a thong. I was quite horrified by that. In general though, it’s summer and people will wear loose light clothing which will show more skin. Toddlers won’t care. I’d be more concerned if it was parents with their teens as probably being seen with your mum in arse-baring shorts would be traumatic aged 14. Two year olds on the other hand aren’t bothered and it won’t corrupt them in any way.

Grimbles · 07/08/2018 22:52

Why would toddlers give a shit about what other women are wearing? Most of them see their own mothers having a poo or in the shower so I'm not sure why a bit of arse cheek or cleavage would give these erudite toddlers anything to be bothered about.

LadyRussell · 07/08/2018 22:52

*You said the girl was enjoying the attention. So putting some blame on to her for wearing shorts that attract unwanted attention from adult men.

Young girls should be dressed like young girls - not like 16/17 year olds with their boobs and arses hanging out.

And no men should not be perving over them but my point is that if they are dressing older they are courting male attention which they do not have the emotional maturity to deal with.

BlueberryPud · 07/08/2018 22:52

People have almost no clue how to dress with any decorum or style in above average temperatures

I agree with this. You can dress in cool clothing in a stylish way.
There is no need to have bums and boobs hanging out to stay cool - in fact, displaying acres of skin is the best way to get burnt.
Skimpy does not necessarily mean cool.

TimesNewRoman · 07/08/2018 22:55

YANBU op. Think you've got a tough crowd tonight. If you'd come on saying you had your arse out at toddlers they'd all be on saying how grim it was.

Cuppaorwine · 07/08/2018 22:56

SosdidgeRoll

Grin it does sound a tad exciting doesn’t it.

At my toddler group there’s us hot nans pushing 50! And mums ranging from 18 to 45!

I did think about putting on a Laura Ashley dress and ballet pumps but thought fuck that no arse crack out and and nipples on show. Grin
