Condoms in online grocery ‘favourites’ - AIBU to think DP is cheating?

I’ve just done our online shop and while browsing ‘favourites’ there was a Durex multipack!m on the list! I recognise all the other products in the favourites list apart from one type of men’s deodorant.

Both were ‘sponsored’ items so maybe I’m being paranoid?! But condoms are an unusual item to try and sell us as we - or should that be I?! - haven’t bought any for a few years!!!

AIBU to think that DP is blatantly cheating?!

Eh, sponsored items mean paid placement imo. Mention it to him and see what his reaction is but imo I wouldn't worry.

FlopsyRabbit89 · 01/08/2018 21:27

A bit odd but you need to give him the benefit of the doubt.
I'd go one of 3 ways:

  1. make a joke of it and see how he reacts
  2. keep an eye out for other suspicious behaviour
  3. completely ignore and move on But you should pick your option based on how good your relationship is and the likelihood that he's actually cheating
kitbabingley · 01/08/2018 21:29

Was it Asda? They put random stuff on our favourites list all the time. Very annoying.

BlueJava · 01/08/2018 21:29

Is it possible to view your last few orders?

forgivenminds · 01/08/2018 21:30

I get completely unrelated items to past orders all the time on my Tesco online shop, not to mention the unrelated selection of subs. Can you look at past orders or order history ?

RJnomore1 · 01/08/2018 21:30

Would you suspect him for any other reason?

AmIRightOrAMeringue · 01/08/2018 21:30

Can you look through past shopping lists (usually they get emailed to you but some apps let you review) to see if / when purchased

autumndreaming · 01/08/2018 21:30

If they're sponsored they're just adverts.

TheDowagerCuntess · 01/08/2018 21:30

What...?

If I saw this, I'd assume that was a placement or an ad.

To jump to 'cheating' must mean a load of back issues or suspicions on your part.

Jaxtellerswife · 01/08/2018 21:31

You can see previous orders on the asda app

Bizzylizzyloo · 01/08/2018 21:31

If it's sponsored that's why it's flashing up. Bit of a stretch to call it blatant cheating! In any case if your DH was cheating would he really be sneaking condoms into your online deliveries rather than popping into a boots?!

Knittedfairies · 01/08/2018 21:32

Who’d be daft enough to buy condoms in with the family groceries if they were cheating?

Buster72 · 01/08/2018 21:32

Online order are usually with a minimum spend, like 50 quid, so unless he ordered a shed load and had them delivered to your door and hid them abiut your home without you noticing, YABU

Ginormoustrawberry · 01/08/2018 21:34

Massive leap there OP - what’s the back story?

Minisoksmakehardwork · 01/08/2018 21:35

My favourites is full of random stuff I've either never bought or haven't bought for literally years.

Condoms being on it wouldn't make me think my husband was being unfaithful but something must be niggling at you if that was where your mind went. I hope it turns out to be an innocent mistake. I also think the supermarkets need to be more mindful of reactions like this too.

FASH84 · 01/08/2018 21:37

If it's Tesco it didn't just add things you've bought online to your favourites, but also things you buy in store and use a club card

emma2939 · 01/08/2018 21:39

If it's Tesco it will show up stuff you have bought in store aswell as any online orders tracked through your club card, I know this as my partner works there.....however I would very highly doubt he would collect his clubcard points on condoms if he was buying them secretly. I don't think you have anything to worry about, could be flagged from years ago or just a promotion x

manaftermidnight · 01/08/2018 21:39

AIBU to think that DP is blatantly cheating?!

If you're serious, you are beyond hard work

Nothisispatrick · 01/08/2018 21:40

Yea, huge leap to cheating. There must be other stuff going on.

Very easy to look through your previous orders and see it condoms were bought, but honestly who would be so stupid as to buy them with the family groceries.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 01/08/2018 21:41

My Sainsburys always adds things randomly. It used to just have things I'd bought but recently it's just anything.

ManyCrisps · 01/08/2018 21:43

I would have cheated a long time ago if you always act like this.

Secretsquirrel101 · 01/08/2018 21:43

Sponsored is clearly an advert. Wtf is going on in your relationship for you to jump to such ott conclusions?!

Leeds2 · 01/08/2018 21:44

Look through your previous orders. It must be possible to view them,

I think it very unlikely that a cheating DH would add condoms to his family grocery shop rather than just pop into Boots.

ParanoidOrSunburnt · 01/08/2018 21:47

It’s Tesco. The favourites are anything bought with your Clubcard, not just online.

We have a young baby and (not including disappointing attempts in October and Christmas) haven’t had proper sex for almost a year :-s so, I suppose yes there’s something already niggling at me... I don’t mean to drip feed but I wanted a few opinions before adding that bit because I was hoping people would say IBU.

cunningartificer · 01/08/2018 21:48

Yes. You are. On this evidence alone? How would you feel if he picked you up on it for the same reason?! It’s sponsored. People are trying to sell you stuff!!!
