...to think that if you repeatedly get your cock out in public (allegedly) you aren't fit to offer advice to government about whether women-only facilities should become mixed-sex?

OK, I know IABU in offering a Daily Fail link, but the Guardian haven't yet covered this:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6003331/Britains-official-transgender-student-officer-suspended.html

Jess Bradley was one of the very limited number of people invited to give evidence to Maria Miller's Women and Equalities Select Committee investigation, which kicked off the current proposals to change the Gender Recognition Act so that anyone who says they are a woman is legally regarded as a woman, even if they still have a penis (and a beard and anything else they like - saying "I am a woman" would literally be the only requirement). These proposed changes in the law would mean the end of women-only services and de facto mean all services, including hospital wards, changing rooms, etc, would become mixed-sex.

Jess Bradley was also until very recently a director of Action for Trans Health, an activist group whose list of batshit demands includes the immediate release of all trans prisoners.

AIBU to think that everyone in government and beyond (including the NHS) who took advice from this individual should now reassess the value of that advice?

YANBU. The removal of any checks or safeguards to men "becoming" women and accessing women's changing rooms, hostel dorms etc is a flasher's charter - except it won't be classed as flashing, will it?

E.g. my local pool has separate men's and women's changing rooms which (at least in the case of the women's!) is just one small communal room (There's not enough room for individual cubicles). I (and I think a lot of women) use towels to keep as covered as possible while we change. Some women are less self-conscious but still quickly get changed. However, there are, obviously, no rules against nudity in a communal changing room.

Under self-ID, a person of the male persuasion who has a thing for flashing their penis around in public, has a hell of a lot of leeway for wandering around the women's changing rooms naked, in an aroused state, getting their kicks out of exposing their penis to women and making them feel scared or uncomfortable. As long as they say they identify as a women, they have done nothing wrong and, if you complain about what you feel is inappropriate creepy behaviour, you'll be the one who is in the wrong.

mirialis · 30/07/2018 22:27

I don't deliberately "misgender" people. I quite like grammatical accuracy but will bend it in order to be polite.

I cannot see how people can still refer to someone who has a massive predilection with their penis/indecent exposure thereof as "she" or "her".

I will not be using female pronouns for this arsehole.

superdink · 30/07/2018 22:50

No, the man is clearly a pervert, he should probably be better placed in a MALE prison.

I think the big chop is required if a man wants to call himself a transwoman, no way should the NHS be funding any of this madness. Only then would I begin to consider sharing facilities.

Over the years I have suffered from far too many sexual assaults at the hands and penises of men - I would be a naive and vulnerable fool to trust any random man, and I have learned that from life experience.

The whole trans debate is gas lighting at its finest and it is setting our sisters up to be easy prey for abusive domineering men and governments of the future. It is a deliberate screwing of our minds, a denial of the most basic truth.

So yeah... Jog on Buffalo Bill, you make my skin crawl...

Could not have put it better myself. As a pp said before 'Under his eye'

YADDDDNBU !

speakingwoman · 30/07/2018 23:19

Yanbu

mirialis · 30/07/2018 23:20

Who was that other really creepy person - the one who was the expert defence witness of someone who had done the sickest blog about raping and dismembering the women in Girls Aloud? Want to say Shon Fay but I know it's someone much older than that... something Fay/Fai/Fae? Whatever. It was some creepy shit.

WTF is going on here?

mirialis · 30/07/2018 23:22

Oh just realized it was the person doing the fucking knitting as a diversionary tactic whenever anyone else was speaking!!! Still a Fay/Fai/Fae thing... and still unbelievable that these people are taken seriously as having a voice on women's rights!!

LightofaSilveryMoon · 31/07/2018 00:09

YADNBU.
Flashing their penis in public = man. Not a woman.

Ereshkigal · 31/07/2018 00:19

Jane Fae. Ewww didn't know about the sicko Girls Aloud blog support. Why do the BBC etc listen to this people? This one manages to get on every trans feature going.

StepBackNow · 31/07/2018 07:40

Maybe we should do a media watch and every time one of these awful people appears on a TV station complain and give them the newspaper reports on their previous actions. Maybe make sure they don't appear again.

I have no problem with genuine transwomen but a huge problem with perverts.

ShotsFired · 31/07/2018 07:42

Yet again, the usual ever-present defenders of the wokeness are strangely quiet here.

Why aren't they all clamouring to tell us we are being hysterically transphobic about nothing more than a perfectly normal everyday occurrence of female dick?

Where are you and why aren't you being the usual female shield for Bradley? Could it possibly be that even you can't justify this, even though "it never happens"?

MissSusanSays · 31/07/2018 07:49

The issue the usual transactivist crowd have here is that you cannot defend the indefensible and still look credible.

The only choice they have is to hand Bradley out to dry and hope it all goes away.

We need to make sure that it doesn’t go away and that the transagenda they are peddling finally gets some deep scrutiny- as every major policy devision should.

How have they achieved so much so quickly? Two words- male privilege.

NameChangedAgain18 · 31/07/2018 07:53

There are trans activists elsewhere who are defending Jess. Apparently it’s transmisogyny or akin to racism to criticise poor Jess for his actions.

Ereshkigal · 31/07/2018 07:55

How have they achieved so much so quickly? Two words- male privilege.

Yes, definitely.

IAmLurkacus · 31/07/2018 08:02

YADNBU! And why is this person being listened to by the government? There are lots of sensible sane transwomen around the government could be consulting with Miranda Yardley, Kristina Harrison, Debbie Hayton, several others on twitter including the one who’s concerned that ATH is actually DAMAGING appropriate healthcare for transpeople (I’m really sorry I’ve forgotten your name if you’re lurking).

But THANK YOU Jess for demonstrating why self ID is such an utter shit show and why gatekeeping needs to be retained.

numptynuts · 31/07/2018 08:06

Jess Bradley has single handedly proved why this should never be allowed. What an asshat!

NothingOnTellyAgain · 31/07/2018 08:07

Jane Fae did appear as expert witness in that case.

They are a keen proponent of liberal values especially non censorship, focusing on the disgraceful banning by our government of certain types of extreme porn. They wrote a piece in a previous name setting out their views around this.

There is a thread somewhere.

It's hard to find the actual article actually which is interesting as it's in previous name.

Anyway, and again, there is a certain type of person who is keen to support the rights of those who wish to make films that area intended to arouse involving as an example women being tortured to the point it will leave them with permanent scarring.

Women know what place the ideas stem from and what sort of person has them. And one who feels no compunction about fighting to have this material legalised. Well, we know what sort of a person that is, don't we.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 31/07/2018 08:11

I mean there is a certain type of person who suggests these things.

Like lib dems ideas around reducing age for prostitution and appearing in porn to 18, or saying prostitution should be included in careers advice for schools.

It's very rarely cunty people who push for these things. Do the penis people who do so, really think that others don't see it for what it is? " Im very interested in free speech, extreme porn must be legalised" okey dokey mate.

Or like asking a fox to design a hen house, BrandNew.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 31/07/2018 08:21

To 16! Not 18 that's where it's at now.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 31/07/2018 08:29

It's all just so cock centred and selfish.

VickyEadie · 31/07/2018 19:21

I think if you get your willy out ONCE in public you have no advice to give on women's safe spaces. EVER.

Because you're a fucking THREAT to women.

hooochycoo · 01/08/2018 01:19

Any update?
