...to think that if you repeatedly get your cock out in public (allegedly) you aren't fit to offer advice to government about whether women-only facilities should become mixed-sex?

OK, I know IABU in offering a Daily Fail link, but the Guardian haven't yet covered this:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6003331/Britains-official-transgender-student-officer-suspended.html

Jess Bradley was one of the very limited number of people invited to give evidence to Maria Miller's Women and Equalities Select Committee investigation, which kicked off the current proposals to change the Gender Recognition Act so that anyone who says they are a woman is legally regarded as a woman, even if they still have a penis (and a beard and anything else they like - saying "I am a woman" would literally be the only requirement). These proposed changes in the law would mean the end of women-only services and de facto mean all services, including hospital wards, changing rooms, etc, would become mixed-sex.

Jess Bradley was also until very recently a director of Action for Trans Health, an activist group whose list of batshit demands includes the immediate release of all trans prisoners.

AIBU to think that everyone in government and beyond (including the NHS) who took advice from this individual should now reassess the value of that advice?

Jess Bradley who BTW famously said 'there's no such thing as a real women.' I suppose the women who underwent FGM, the women raped in India, in Bosnia, globally, the women who until recently weren't allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia, the 2 women a week murdered in this country, were all figments of the transphobic imagination?

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 30/07/2018 13:29

Why is this yoke allowed air time? And state sponsored airtime at that? It’s a complete mystery to me Confused

Dottierichardson · 30/07/2018 13:30

It's interesting that in this country we don't seem to be able to define what a woman is, but in countries worldwide where female oppression is rife, there is no such confusion.

Dottierichardson · 30/07/2018 13:37

Araiwa also of course transwomen are oppressed and their views need to be heard. But where the demands of groups who claim to represent them could result in policy and practice that does not take into account the potential impact on other groups such as women and children there is a problem.

We are in an area in which competing rights exist, in which case the needs of all parties have to be considered and a balance found that is equitable. The tone of the debate at the moment is such that this is not happening and the rights of one group is being privileged over the rights of others. This is not acceptable and it's a situation that will create transphobia not diminish it.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 30/07/2018 13:41

How are trans women oppressed?
With actual examples?

ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie · 30/07/2018 13:48

If this person has instructed Carter Ruck who is paying the fees? Genuine question. Cos they ain’t cheap.

Tinycitrus · 30/07/2018 13:50

Twitter says it’s the NUS - I’ve no idea whether that’s true.

StepBackNow · 30/07/2018 13:52

It's like something out of Monty Python.

thegreylady · 30/07/2018 13:55

This is mad! If you have a cock and balls you are a man. If you have gender reassignment surgery and hormone treatment you can become a woman (unless you are born female in which case you don’t need to do that). If you are transitioning from one to the other you are in transition and I assume would want to cause the least embarrassment to yourself and others so while your Male appendages are in place you are best off in the Gents..
The word cis isn’t real, or rather it is in that it exists but it isn’t needed at all. Everyone knows this and if all the posturing could stop everyone could just be who and what they are. You can’t be a man one day and a woman the next without some pretty serious medical help. If I identify as a cat I am not a cat etc.
Transgender...yes
Gay...yes
Transvestite ... yes
Man...yes
Woman...yes
Human being...definitely yes
Cis...NO who the hell made that one up?

Putbiglighton · 30/07/2018 13:59

It doesn't impact on him. He's a man. He'll always be a man. I identify as a fucking purple unicorn, it doesn't mean I get to be one.

*- trans women ARE women, due to innate gender identity, therefore their bodies are female, even the aspects (chromasomes, physique, penis, prostate) which would conventionally be considered male. To point out that 'woman' is a legal/social/medical definition based purely on physical characteristics, is 'folk biology', 'third-grade science' or to be 'obsessed with genitals'. Under this ideology, there is no finite material definition of woman, and therefore no sex-based protections.

(And, yes: under this definition, a trans woman exposing her penis is not committing a typically male exposure-based crime; she's simply celebrating her female body and transgressing repressive social norms, like women who bare their breasts at protests.)*

GARBAGE. Go and stick your male penis where the sun doesn't shine

Jess Bradley is a man, and an offensive, if not dangerous, sex offender. Anyone who can't see that needs help, the same as he does. Someone with this level of mental illness should receive treatment. Accepting his mindset is insane, and insulting and dangerous to women. By women I mean people who are female, and therefore do not have a male penis (can't believe I just had to type that? Like it is even possible for anyone to think otherwise!!)

NameChangedAgain18 · 30/07/2018 14:03

And those of us who complain about her doing that are slut-shaming misogynists.

like women who bare their breasts at protests

But Jess is a woman, no? So surely they should be employing a "womanly" protest.

Because, and try as TRAs might like to spin it, someone getting their cock out isn't the same as baring breasts is it?

MissSusanSays · 30/07/2018 14:10

Penises do not belong in female spaces.

It is not difficult to do- do you have a penis? Yes. Then bugger off somewhere else with your male privlidge.

Honestly, the amount of women who fall for this ‘poor oppressed white man’ crap is extremely disappointing.

Trans rights are nothing like gay rights. They are completely the opposite.

Gay rights: th freedom to love who you want to, no matter what sex. And live with who you want to and marry who you want to without fear of viol Nct or discrimination.

Trans rights: the freedom to redefine the rights of other oppressed groups ( women, homosexuals) for your own benefit even if it does negatively impact on them. And despite the fact that you’re from a very privilidged group.

Is it me or are transrights just a way for rich white men to find a way around equality rules.

starcrossedseahorse · 30/07/2018 14:11

Wondering what MNHQ are thinking about the dreadful misgendering going on here? Of this pervy man who gets off on flashing his revolting cock about but who insists that he is a woman.

Hoping that they are feeling very silly indeed for trying to silence women on this on the feminist boards in particular as now the truth of the whole TRA agenda starts to reveal itself.

It would be hilarious were it not so tragic. MNHQ - NOW will you listen to women?

Indierockandroll · 30/07/2018 14:13

YANBU

I accidentally misgendered Jess Bradley on MN and my post was deleted.

A week or so later and somebody who advises govt allegedly has images of an adult raping the cartoon character Ben 10, an image of a father raping a son with the words 'father and son sex - the only way it should be' (or similar) and pics of his dick.

Jess has a girlfriend too. So they have a penis, a girlfriend and allegedly get their cock out in public. They also campaign for the release of trans prisoners, I believe, advocate violence against a 60 year old women's rights supporter and say there is no such thing as a real woman. Now they have probably the most expensive lawyers in history to silence newspapers and free speech. It's a tale as old as time - woman gets her penis out at work.

If some men get off on wanking in a dress don't do it in the spaces girls and women go.

The NUS links with the government advisory charitu Stonewall are worrying. Stonewall, like Bradley's Trans Health group, receive TAXPAYER funding. Yup, my money.

Stonewall advise schools on sex education and promote gender over sex. They consult with Mermaids to advise children and families. The narrative is that it's OK for a member of the Mermaids organisation to take their child to another country for gender surgery (as it was illegal here and rightly so) and that prescribing puberty blockers, performing double masectomies on young healthy girls in the name of gender is acceptable.

It's a dark web. Why do such people want to control women and children?

Why do some defend them on here?

Indierockandroll · 30/07/2018 14:16

MN I did it again. I said 'his' dick because it's you know, a natural progression of words like

Her vagina
Her cervix
Her body being violated
Her screams silenced
Her words censored
Her abortion
Her rape
FEMALE GM
Her miscarriage

Etc

starcrossedseahorse · 30/07/2018 14:17

Indeed - why are people defending him? I agree with you that there is something sinister at work here - so much collusion and power, especially since these white, middle class men in bad makeup say that they are literally the most oppressed people ever.

martinidry · 30/07/2018 14:18

At least it can be said that now nobody should be in doubt that Jess Bradley is a man. He's proved that by publicly exhibiting his penis.

Ewe, the answer to your dilemma in what to call human beings is this:
"Man". "Woman". "Men". "Women".
The man or men are the ones who were born with a penis.
HTH.

Indierockandroll · 30/07/2018 14:25

Starcrossed - on Twitter O realised so many were simply adolescent boys, living at home, playing video games, saying that work is for losers.

I bet they don't mind mummy or the female cleaner picking up their boxers.

Why do 80 per cent like Jess keep their penis and still have girlfriends?

They can just dip in and out of any sex they choose. Women being abused cannot choose to say "hang on I want to be a man now so please stop raping me"

Also, note how many trans activists try to deflect from a story of a bioligical born man still with a penis doing seedy acts while representing major organisations.

That's what I question - those on here jumping to excuse the dark and depraved intentions.

The more you unpick the more these dark motives transpire. It's not a conspiracy it's headline news FFS and would be more widely reported if gagging orders and fear didn't threaten integrity.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 30/07/2018 14:26

Do we actually know it was Bradley's penis? The Mail article was circumspect and given that Bradey is lawyer happy ...
