...to think that if you repeatedly get your cock out in public (allegedly) you aren't fit to offer advice to government about whether women-only facilities should become mixed-sex?

OK, I know IABU in offering a Daily Fail link, but the Guardian haven't yet covered this:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6003331/Britains-official-transgender-student-officer-suspended.html

Jess Bradley was one of the very limited number of people invited to give evidence to Maria Miller's Women and Equalities Select Committee investigation, which kicked off the current proposals to change the Gender Recognition Act so that anyone who says they are a woman is legally regarded as a woman, even if they still have a penis (and a beard and anything else they like - saying "I am a woman" would literally be the only requirement). These proposed changes in the law would mean the end of women-only services and de facto mean all services, including hospital wards, changing rooms, etc, would become mixed-sex.

Jess Bradley was also until very recently a director of Action for Trans Health, an activist group whose list of batshit demands includes the immediate release of all trans prisoners.

AIBU to think that everyone in government and beyond (including the NHS) who took advice from this individual should now reassess the value of that advice?

YANBU. I don't know how anyone can say YABU, but I bet some will…

TheShapeOfEwe · 30/07/2018 09:18

I think that in a consultation about self-identification it would be absurd not to include transwomen. It's a pretty fundamental part of democracy that consultations about human rights should include consultation with the humans whose rights are under discussion.

It's not actually clear from your right wing, Nazi-paper article that Jess Bradley did expose herself in public, but there is an investigation underway to determine if she has done anything wrong. If she has exposed herself then I agree she's clearly not a fit person to advise the government and she ought to be replaced with a more appropriate trans woman activist, of which there are many (and many who are brilliant).

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 30/07/2018 09:20

Maybe it’s a good thing? He’s managed to single handedly refute the entire argument for men being allowed in women’s spaces.
He couldn’t have demonstrated the dangers any better if he’d been actively trying to.
The dumb fuck.

ArcheryAnnie · 30/07/2018 09:26

I think that in a consultation about self-identification it would be absurd not to include transwomen.

Who here has suggested that transwomen should not be included in the consultation, TheShapeOfEwe?

What was absurd, of course, is that Maria Miller failed to include any of the women's groups who submitted evidence when she was calling people to give evidence. I am absolutely certain you would also think that absurd, no?

Also, TheShapeOfEwe if you are above clicking on a Daily Fail link (which, fair enough) there's plenty of screenshots out there on the internet of Bradley's own posts, dick shots and all. (They also include screenshots of Bradley reblogging other creepy shit, like a drawing of a children's cartoon character - Ben 10 - being raped.)

ShotsFired · 30/07/2018 09:32

here you go @TheShapeOfEwe, screenshots of the accused's own website for you, hope that is a better source: twitter.com/xNoMoreSilencex/status/1021093767489695745

You'll note the pictures are "click to view" as they have been deemed adult content (Twitter defines this as "to be any media that is pornographic and/or may be intended to cause sexual arousal").

ScrumpyBetty · 30/07/2018 09:32

YANBU.

MrsPussinBoots · 30/07/2018 09:35

YANBU. I've seen the photos and comments on that blog and they're disgusting. Hopefully this will get more attention.

Gileswithachainsaw · 30/07/2018 09:38

Well of course yanbu

I hope people realise that these are who the people behind self id really are.

When.people tell you who they are. Believe them.

SisterMoonshine · 30/07/2018 09:40

YANBU

littlbrowndog · 30/07/2018 09:40

Yeah this person advising the government. Yuck

Yanbu

araiwa · 30/07/2018 09:41

Who else do we ban from the democratic process?

FeminaSum · 30/07/2018 09:43

YANBU. Of course trans people should be included in the consultation but I'd say that even before learning this disturbing new information about Bradley, Bradley was not a good choice. Action for Trans Health are absolutely batshit and I don't see how any politician, even a self-ID supporter, could read their manifesto and then take them seriously at all. It's utterly bewildering that they have.

Now we learn that Bradley likes to get Bradley's cock out in public and make creepy posts sexualising teenage boys at school. But remember, transgenderism has nothing to do with fetishes and nobody would ever want access to women's spaces for unsavory reasons.

bonitabonita · 30/07/2018 09:43

Yanbu

PolkerrisBeach · 30/07/2018 09:43

Someone who gets their male genitalia out in public and blogs about it is in no way, shape or form a woman.

ArcheryAnnie · 30/07/2018 09:47

Who else do we ban from the democratic process?

araiwa who is suggesting we ban anyone from the democratic process?

It's the transactivist side who are trying to silence women. I am not trying to silence Bradley - I'm just pointing out who Bradley really is, judging from Bradley's own actions, and inviting those who have taken his advice seriously to reconsider whether they wish to continue to do so.

OP posts:
littlbrowndog · 30/07/2018 09:48

Just use the word women. It describes us perfectly

CurbsideProphet · 30/07/2018 09:50

Of course YANBU. It's baffling that there are large numbers who accept this person as a woman Confused

Gileswithachainsaw · 30/07/2018 09:50

Exclusionary language Hmm

Woman is supposed to exclude people. Men. That's the whole point

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 30/07/2018 09:50

the Guardian haven't yet covered this

That'll be because their collective heads are exploding with the dissonance of how to report this whilst maintaining their trans dogma Grin

ArcheryAnnie · 30/07/2018 09:51

apologies if you don't like that term

It's not just that I don't like the term, TheShapeOfEwe, but also that it doesn't apply. I'm not cis. Many (most?) of the women I know are not "cis", either. If you describe me as "cis" you must also spend an equal amount of space describing me as "trans" because they both don't apply equally. I don't have an internal gender identity to match with my biological sex.

You may also like to know that describing women as "cis" here without their consent may get your post deleted - it's against the talk guidelines.

You are OP

You dont want someone to be able to give their opinion to the government on a matter that directly impacts on them

BlueEyedPersephone · 30/07/2018 09:52

Anyone who does what Bradley does and thinks is funny, should be removed as a representative of anything, I don't care what they view themselves as or what they think. Their views are criminal and should be treated as such
