To wear this dress to a wedding??

dressesdressesdresses · 28/07/2018 21:45

I've got a wedding next month, I've bought this dress but my sil says it's so much and I'll look a bit twatty?

If you saw me wearing this at a wedding what you think it was terrible? Or is it fine to wear for a wedding?

That last one is awful OP. You can't wear that to a wedding! Grin

MrsAndyGarcia · 28/07/2018 23:23

To be fair re PP - she's only 20 and body con dresses are what most are wearing.

For your budget OP have a look on here - www.pinkboutique.co.uk/dresses/bodycon-dresses.html

OP

Unless it's the kind of wedding/social circle where everyone is trying to look sexy, most of your choices are not really appropriate. I hope that doesn't sound rude.

At weddings, people tend to go for pretty, floaty shapes rather than sexy/clubby shapes. It doesn't mean you can't look attractive/stylish and even sexy - but not in such an obvious way. Of all your choices so far, the first floral was the best, but people have shared some other good options too.

God, I hope this doesn't sound bitchy - you have an amazing figure but I'm just responding to the fact that you said you'd never been to a wedding. We can all keep looking for you :)

MrsAndyGarcia · 28/07/2018 23:26

and I know you've asked for dresses but what about this? On trend and gorgeous for wedding Smile

Ignore my last post. I think you should wear what you want. But not the last one Grin

Atalune · 28/07/2018 23:30

Honestly- your choices look like your off clubbing.
Reign it in love!

Also could work well with your figure

dressesdressesdresses · 28/07/2018 23:32

I tried that one on today I like the style but no the colour. I like pink pastels and yellows etc etc

They're all a bit sexy for a wedding. Imho!

NordicNobody · 28/07/2018 23:47

This ones lovely. Not body con but off the shoulder and a bit more tasteful for a wedding IMO than something very fitted:

There nice been reading a few what not to wear to a wedding so will carry on in the morning I'm so tired from trapping around the shops all day haha think it's time for bed. Thanks so much for the help everyone. Feel a bit silly for wanting to wear the floor length one haha. Thank you for your honest words :) good night x

The last one you posted could be ok OP but it's still on the very clingy/sexy side for a wedding. It's really hard because maybe there will be lots of people in dresses like that but it's probably not quite what I am used to seeing. Like I said, a bit more 'restrained' is what I would say for a wedding. I am re-linking one of the ones I posted earlier as I think it would look really good and not be overtly clubby .

garethsouthgatesmrs · 28/07/2018 23:56

dresses the most recent one is the best one. Go for that.

garethsouthgatesmrs · 28/07/2018 23:58

personally I like to wear something in my hair for a wedding ( a fascinator or something) but I am sure people will be on to criticise that idea.

Nothing wrong with fitted. Quite a few wedding dresses are fitted. Clingy lycra - NO, fitted lace - YES!
