I've got a wedding next month, I've bought this dress but my sil says it's so much and I'll look a bit twatty?

If you saw me wearing this at a wedding what you think it was terrible? Or is it fine to wear for a wedding?

Good choice OP, that’s lovely. although Bate shoulders in church can cause outrage

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 29/07/2018 21:21

Lovely dress OP. I’m sure you’ll look stunning.

I am in total awe of the girls I see when visiting friends in Liverpool. I think they’re fab. If you’re gonna dress up then why not really go for it. I wish I had the confidence.

I know you’ve found the one for you but for future reference have you ever looked at Chi Chi London? They’ve some gorgeous stuff that’s very wedding appropriate. I wore a lovely dress of theirs to a wedding the other week and I felt the bees knees. I’ll try and attach a pic...

Obviously not my actual face but not far off my expression 😂.

That's a lovely dress too.

FeralBeryl · 29/07/2018 21:39

Fab dress - the main thing for you to feel confident is to feel comfortable in what you're wearing.
Book in and get your make up and hair done too, it makes such a difference. I was practically haglike yesterday but by the time I went out, I'd had a big scouse curly blow and my eye makeup done and felt amazing.
I'm sure the rest of his family will love you Smile

Beautiful dress. Oh to be 20 and slim again. Enjoy.

PurpleFlower1983 · 29/07/2018 22:13

If it’s black tie yes. That’s an evening gown. Otherwise, no.

spreadingchestnuttree · 29/07/2018 22:27

You will look great in that OP.

I went to a wedding recently and the teens/20-somethings were mainly wearing bodycon dresses and looked entirely appropriate. Different rules when you're young Smile

AlonsosLeftPinky · 29/07/2018 22:45

The one you've bought is by far the nicest of the ones you posted!

Think I need quite a big heel because the dress is quite long and also can't wear those shoes they hurt so much!

What about something like this - www.guess.eu/en/catalog/view/women/shoes/open-toe/flha91lea07?color=nude&country=gb&CMP=KNC-GES-Feed_GB-Google_GB&LGWCODE=13666709;91553;5523&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpZSn0OPG3AIVip3tCh2ZEAlCEAQYASABEgKGbPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds.

I know what you mean about those others they’re pretty but a killer to walk in.

gettingtherequickly · 30/07/2018 20:46

These have a platform, so easier to walk in, but still quite elegant.

I know you've found a dress now (and it's lovely btw) but I saw this dress pop up in an advert earlier and my first thought was that it'd be right up your street! Maybe for a future event... 🙂
