To wear this dress to a wedding??

dressesdressesdresses · 28/07/2018 21:45

I've got a wedding next month, I've bought this dress but my sil says it's so much and I'll look a bit twatty?

If you saw me wearing this at a wedding what you think it was terrible? Or is it fine to wear for a wedding?

Thanks their just a little bit out of my price range hah

So what's your budget? Likes/dislikes? what colour hair do you have?

LassWiADelicateAir · 28/07/2018 23:01

The first one is an evening dress- not suitable. The other 2 look are out on the pull on a Saturday night (nothing wrong with that but not at a wedding)

The Reiss one in SlightlyJaded's link is lovely and would be perfect. The Bardot dress is good too.

Based off you saying it’s in St. George’s I’m assuming your a fellow scouser like me. Liverpool is very dressy. Go for it

Slightlyjaded · 28/07/2018 23:03

Fair enough (mine too OP!!) www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0637055003.html . Something like this? I think it could look stunning.

LassWiADelicateAir · 28/07/2018 23:04

I hope you find something. You sound lovely and considerate and have a fab figure.

Bambamber · 28/07/2018 23:04

I like the pale blue you posted, if shows off your figure beautifully. You have to go for something you are comfortable and confident wearing though

Atalune · 28/07/2018 23:05

You’re young, you can wear anything!

Go for a simple classic shape and nothing too loud, glitzy or sexy.

Reiss is expensive.

This is £25 from boohoo and free delivery too

Slightly- your suggestions are perfect. The H & M dress is gorgeous

iamyourequal · 28/07/2018 23:06

I think this might tick all your boxes? uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_40.18/4424200110

Cardiganandcuppa · 28/07/2018 23:06

It depends.

Are you Jane Macdonald?

dressesdressesdresses · 28/07/2018 23:07

I have dark hair quite pale skin and. My makeup will be minimal and nails just plain old French manicure.

I like the body on type dresses, shoulders out. Would wear either Bardot or of the shoulder completely. Doesn't have to be midi can be quite long but not floor length as posters have suggested.

I've been looking for months, I think because it's my first ever wedding and I'm meeting a lot of my partners family I'm other thinking it all a lot hah

Over thinking*

I wouldn’t go body con for a family wedding. Too sexy.

LassWiADelicateAir · 28/07/2018 23:10

Well have fun OP. The Monsoon dress isn't dressy enough.

Atalune · 28/07/2018 23:11

This is also fab for someone of your age and figure. With blue or orange or pink accessories.

Ok. Based on you colouring, budget and off the shoulder request, how about this? www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0676900001.html

dressesdressesdresses · 28/07/2018 23:12

That's nice dh doesn't like it though

Thank you @Lass. Just wish I was two sizes smaller so I could wear them :)

dressesdressesdresses · 28/07/2018 23:13

What about this in a different colour?

I’ve just looked blue one is fine
Your young OP don’t listen to comments about how you should dress like a frump.

Atalune · 28/07/2018 23:16

The Paris AX one looks cheap, my honest answer. Are you dead set on body con- I think it’s a mistake for such a big event.

Not keen on either of my suggestions?

dressesdressesdresses · 28/07/2018 23:17

No think the body on is my best option I've got a face like a foot so don't want to wear something flowly aswell.

I've got this aswell but not to keen on the colour.

I like the flowery pale blue one.

KittyHawke80 · 28/07/2018 23:18

Looks like something Jane McDonald would wear on one of her endless ‘Farewell Tour’ dvds. Ghastly.
