Who's watching?
I love George.

Were you perhaps trying to prove a point, "you liked a cameo by one person accused of dodgy stuff but not another"
Would this be a correct assumption?

BertrandRussell · 26/07/2018 15:27

"His conviction for sexual assault and false imprisonment do tend to mean some people will tend to err on the side of 'he's a bit of a wanker"
And, while it possibly should not bar him from making music or stacking shelves in Tesco, it might not make him the ideal mentor for young musicians.

BertrandRussell · 26/07/2018 15:28

"there are far worse offenders broadcast daily"
Really? Name me a few.

As far as I can see those bringing saville etc. in to it are those defending him.

southeastdweller · 26/07/2018 16:27

South- because BG was in a position of power. It was his band and he presumed Jon Moss.

Belinda you’re making a mountain out of a molehill. So what that BG seduced a ‘straight’ guy who had a girlfriend? Confused It’s nothing to do with the programme last night and BG’s crime. Grow up.

Belindabauer · 26/07/2018 17:46

Of course it's a separate incident but we are talking about boy George and what he is like.
I hope you wouldn't tell a woman who's dh had an affair to grow up
Would you?
Don't tell he to grow up, grow up yourself.

MoonsAndJunes · 26/07/2018 18:08

His conviction for sexual assault and false imprisonment do tend to mean some people will tend to err on the side of 'he's a bit of a wanker"

This shouldn't make me laugh but it did! He is certainly a bit of a wanker.
Understatement Just watched the rest of it.
Pursed lips & shaking of head when told of cruelty towards his ancestors. Hmm

100 years from now George, your future bloodline will have a field day if they ever research their family tree!

Shouldn't your quotes be around the word 'seduced'?

southeastdweller · 26/07/2018 18:16

Why Boney?

CSIblonde · 26/07/2018 18:19

That's sad re child marriage Groucho. I knew the few more rigid /offshoot US religious sects still did it, but those numbers are awful.

BoneyBackJefferson · 26/07/2018 18:19

southeastdweller

Because you don't know if he was 'seduced'. 'consented', was 'coerced' or 'initiated'.

That Jon Moss has continually stated that he is straight means questions should surely be asked.

Badbadtromance · 26/07/2018 18:21

Place marking

doubleshotespresso · 26/07/2018 18:27

BertrandRussell Google is your friend.

I think many on here would be stunned to see the shenanigans of their elected-MP's and so on too..... I am not stupid enough to name them on here, but it is all fairly accessible if you do a basic search. Extreme sex "games" (poor choice of words but I cannot in this heat think of a better phrase) are the choice of many of the established elite. Nobody is saying BG was

doubleshotespresso · 26/07/2018 18:32

Apologies posted too soon!

Nobody is saying BG was correct or to be applauded for that single incident- just making the point he is by no means alone

beepbeeprichie · 26/07/2018 18:42

Disappointing to see this thread so full of excuses and whataboutery. BG on our screens when Richard Keys, Andy Gray (and many others) have lost their jobs on tv over much lesser offences. The fact that he wasn’t Saville doesn’t mean he’s a good egg. A mistake? WTAF? Imagine a man does that to a woman- would you call it a mistake?! Shocking.

shins · 26/07/2018 18:46

That's ridiculous about Jon Moss. They were adults and contemporaries, there was no abuse. I find it quite homophobic actually, the implication that BG "seduced" him or coerced him in any way, or that JM being otherwise straight is proof of this.

longwayoff · 26/07/2018 18:47

Well Boney why don't you give Jon a call? I'm sure he'd be delighted to fill you in on details he has kept private for over 30 years

southeastdweller · 26/07/2018 18:53

Totally ridiculous about BG and Jon Moss. Pearl-clutching MN at it's worst. They had a four year relationship, for God's sake!

I must apologise for saying the word seduced in my previous post, Ithinking about it BG was talking about someone else.

BoneyBackJefferson · 26/07/2018 18:54

longwayoff

My point is that no-one knows and he isn't saying. Good to know that you picked up on that.

BertrandRussell · 26/07/2018 18:56

"BertrandRussell Google is your friend."
So what do I google? "People on telly every day who have been in prison for false imprisonmenr and sexual assault"?

longwayoff · 26/07/2018 19:25

Quite. Nobody knows and its none of our business. So I dont see why you say 'questions should surely be asked.'

ShackUp · 26/07/2018 19:29

There was a CC documentary a couple of years back where JM was quite candid about their relationship. If anything, Jon instigated it. He said he just thought he was a beautiful man. Presumably he's bisexual.

twattymctwatterson · 26/07/2018 19:44

I can't get over this thread. If this was a heterosexual man who imprisoned and sexually abused a woman he'd never be on tv again. Trying to suggest what he did was a "mistake" and comparing it to consensual sex is abhorrent

At the same time he did not consent to what BG did.

It's the cup of tea example isn't it.
