To be topless around the kids pool?

Backstory...

On holiday at an all inclusive hotel with kids club etc. Got some tan lines from my bikini so this afternoon took the bikini top off to try and sort them out. DH comes over and says it is inappropriate near the kids pool. I said that he had his top off so why couldn’t I. He said because I was female.

I didn’t put the bikini top back on but is it inappropriate? It’s just boobs?

Haha, you guys are so archaic on this site! And those of you saying you're uncomfortable about men's torsos, you don't petition for them to cover up, do you? If i want to walk around with my baby feeding sacs out I will, and it's not for attention, it's for comfort.

Sorry just wondering why you say you sunbathe topless on holiday as you will never see these people again. This implies you are embarrassed then ??

Practically everyone goes topless on holiday now whether kids are around or not. You did nothing wrong.

I very rarely see topless women on holiday these days. The last few "hot" holidays we have been on have been in Italy, Crete and the US. I recall seeing a couple of topless women on the beach in Crete, and that was it. It doen't seem to be common practice in the parts of Italy and Sicily we have been to.

However, we are going to Majorca next week, so I expect there will be more topless women there. I don't have any opinions on it, and couldn't care less how people want to sunbathe.

I’m in Spain just now in a typically tourist destination. While I haven’t looked at every woman around me, I have noticed two women on the beach topless and none at the pool (next to kids pool).

Wow User1837, so it is women who have to be modest and be ashamed of our bodies, no wonder we have more hangups than men. In the summer, men see nothing wrong with getting their beer gut out and moobs on display (bigger than mine), maybe we should ask them to wear a covering. Living in a popular holiday destination I can confirm plenty of women are topless by pools kids or otherwise. So you're nbu children's and teens are likely to be exposed to partial nudity. If I was in U.K. It'd be different as the culture is different. My oh who is from this holiday destination grew up with topless women around every summer he said it wasn't the worst thing to see boobs but as it's so normal it's not a big deal they learn as kids to be discreet whilst having a look ( not exactly happy but he was a teenage boy)

I watched a programme yesterday about pictures and content that FAcebook deem offensive and will be removed, one was the Female nipple, how bloody awful is that. What messages are you sending out the girls and women, that your bodies are shameful and not men. Nowonder we have more body hangups than men. We are conditioned to look a certain way, get rid of the baby fat, have a toned torso, whereas men I don't think, have that kind of pressure.
