To be topless around the kids pool?

Backstory...

On holiday at an all inclusive hotel with kids club etc. Got some tan lines from my bikini so this afternoon took the bikini top off to try and sort them out. DH comes over and says it is inappropriate near the kids pool. I said that he had his top off so why couldn’t I. He said because I was female.

I didn’t put the bikini top back on but is it inappropriate? It’s just boobs?

Good god, tits are tits. Those kids have probably suckled on them as babies or toddlers, or have seen their siblings do it. And we are always bleating on the poor reception breastfeeding women get in the UK, but I bet if we were more inured to seeing all kinds of boobs, we would be more welcoming to seeing a woman feed her kid. Even the teenaged boys, who have seen far far worse, believe me. Also, we really should feel cowed in behaving in a certain way because of them.

I am weird because I like tan marks. I keep my watch on so you can see where my watch strap mark is. I am not worried about bikini tan lines either.

They did used to put them in, by popular demand. Papers will put in whatever sells the paper. Not enough demand though apparently. Why not start a petition?

I had a colleague years ago who whipped off her top at work (unexpectedly - in the loos when I was washing my hands) to show me her white triangles! I was 17/18 and to this day it’s the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me at work. That is showing your tits off, sunbathing topless is absolutely fine - I say crack on!

Topless sunbathing makes me feel uncomfortable, (rightly or wrongly), so I choose to holiday in places where it’s not acceptable. I’m currently in Mexico where it’s not permitted but my days, the sniggering from the DC (8 & 6) about all the bums on display in their thong bikinis......

These are 16 yr old girls on holiday with their dads - my dad used to have a fit if I wore slightly too much eyeliner 😂.

Just back from Spain and didn’t see any topless sunbathing. Only ever really see it in France these days.

We were in Spain last year but not at a hotel. There were several topless sunbathers on the beaches, no one batted an eyelid.

Unless you intend to walk around topless when you return home after your holiday what difference do Tan Lines make? After all who is going to see them?

IMO it's much healthier for kids to see a normal woman's tits sunbathing than skeletal women with implants just covered in lacy underwear on massive billboards. I think we should be more concerned about that than op on holiday!
