To be thinking now of telling dh I don’t like him in vest tops ?

I was thinking oh don’t like him in that

Then we were talking about packing for holidays when he said I’ve just bought a few more of these pointing to his best top

They are cooler to be fair but I don't think they look nice on men . Tricky to tell him though 😬

Unless he's tanned, toned or ten years old there's no reason or excuse for him to be wearing a vest top.

However, he's a grown man. He can decide what to wear, you can't police it.

How would you feel if he'd posted on a public forum about how he didn't like you in a particular top?

When he tells you he thinks Cardigans belong on old people, he doesn’t like your dress or your underwear is boring I think you may regret the conversation 😄

Hmm my dp mostly wears vests but he shaves his underarms and works out in the gym so it looks good

Tell him how sexy he is in shirts/jumpers/suspenders/whatever turns you on.

I dont think it's always unreasonable to tell someone you dont like their outfit, but be prepared for him to potentially do it back to you! And it might conceivably be said back to you about something that's your favourite outfit or you think you look really nice in.

He likes them, and likes himself in them or wouldn't have bought more. It's not socially unacceptable to wear sleeveless tops in summer so I think let it lie.

I don't like my husbands taste in shoes (too pointy) but he's the one wearing them so I butt out.

I think it’s ok to mention it. Surely he’d prefer to know? You’re not policing him as long as you don’t tell him he can’t wear them. I’d say something like “btw DH, obviously it’s up to you what you wear, but just to let you know, I’m not crazy about those sleeveless tops of yours”.

Those bad boys would not be making it into the suitcase.

It depends. I don't like them on men either, luckily the only time my OH wears them is for running. We occasionally tell each other if something doesn't look great on each other, but in a nice way. Sometimes it's hard to realise something doesn't suit you or isn't appropriate for a certain place. If he really loves wearing them though, I'd leave it be. My OH has a pair of shorts I really don't like (don't know why, they're just plain black) but they look fine on him and he finds them comfy so I just ignore!

Let him wear what he wants, he is a grown man!

They are fine for beach/garden/camping

out for dinner, not so much

I'd be annoyed with DP if he didn't tell me that something looks 'odd' or doesn't suit me. If my DP can't tell me then who the bloody hell can. I'd hate for him (and the rest of the world) to be thinking it but noone saying you look a bit of a numpty, or you look nicer in this style.

Don't say you look a prat and I think any conversation is off to a good start. TBH though DP and I have both said that to the other when we have been trying clothes on, especially holiday clothes shopping.

DH doesn't wear vest tops, and he keeps his underarm hair at least under control. I'm thankful for both of those things

On a more serious note, he's an adult and he can wear as he likes. Perhaps expressing love for a different type of shirt might make him wear that more often?

He's got every right to wear what he wants, regardless of whether you don't like it. He probably hates some of your clothes too.

Vest tops are cooler than teeshirts. I can't bear a teeshirts in this weather. I take it you're all covered up then not showing your shoulders and upper arms?

I don't really like these threads because if a woman came on and posted that her husband thought she looked awful in her favourite top and didn't want her to buy anymore, he'd be lambasted and she'd probably be told he was controlling at best, abusive at worst and someone would tell her to consider leaving the bastard.

He's a grown man and can wear whatever he sees fit. You don't have to like it but you don't get to tell him what to wear.
