Hairless foofs

Ginismyfriendx · 06/07/2018 01:02

So can't sleep and watching naked attraction (please do judge me, I deserve it)
Are completely bare foofs a thing now? Having had a nasty experience of an ingrown hair from shaving bikini line (which required anti-biotics) why go through that? Nevermind the faff. Who want's an evening shadow on their lady bits?
All for a bit of pruning, but uprooting?

So why do you shave your legs in the summer then Queen?

QueenoftheNights · 10/07/2018 14:13

I didn't say it was cleaner confused I said I hated period blood stuck to it and found it hard to remove the hair between showers.

Try a 250mls bottle of water and pour it over your fanny when on the loo having a wee. works wonders for period blood and those horrid secretions.

SickOfSitting · 10/07/2018 14:14

Yes women remove pubic hair for vanity or as some have explained on this thread because they feel cleaner in their mind, or because the pubic hair gets stuck to a sanitary towel! Grin

Vashna · 10/07/2018 14:22

For me it’s not really about hygiene one way or the other. Once you are used to being hairless down below it becomes normal for you. Just as if you’re used to having smooth legs you will feel strange / uncomfortable / unfeminine if you had to let us hair grow back. Or if you were told you could never sort your eyebrows out, would you be happy with that? Its just a different point on the same continuum.
Everyone is different anyway. I chose to get lasered because I’m dark and didn’t like the regrowth stage. But maybe if I was very blond, I might not have bothered.
Also it’s a lifestyle thing. If you swim a lot, it’s time consuming to be constantly shaving or trimming, so you might as well get it all off and just never think about it. It depends on the underwearor lingerie you might wear too as to whether you’re comfortable with hair down there.
It’s just different habits for different people - no different to getting you hair dyed or whatever else. I’m not sure what all the fuss is about. I personally don’t like shaved men or the shiny look because it’s not very masculine to me, but I wouldn’t tell men they shouldn’t do it because they obviously have their own reasons.

waterlego6064 · 10/07/2018 14:30

This is not really helpful to the discussion, but just wondering whether anyone else dislikes the feel of freshly shaved legs? I do shave my legs in the summer, mainly because I am too weak to stand up to societal pressure. I have no problem admitting to that.

But, when they are newly shaved, I really dislike the feel of the skin when one leg touches the other. It reminds me of dolphin skin. 😂

SickOfSitting · 10/07/2018 14:40

Vasha I agree, it's what feels normal to you and what you're used to.

I'm finding the hypocrisy on this thread alarming. I mean on the one hand there are posters feeling oh so sorry for the poor younger generation who feel so pressurised by society and "What's expected" of them to shave down below because it's oh such a natural thing to have full pubic hairs. Then on the other hand a lot of them are plucking their eyebrows, shaving their legs and underarms for vanity reasons or because society has put pressure on them to not have hairy legs when wearing shorts/skirts. It's all swings and roundabouts. No one has answered why they are outraged at pubic shaving (because it's only ok to shave the perfectly natural bits of hair that society will see and judge you on) yet underarms are ok, even if you always have them covered and only your dp will see?

Why not embrace hairy legs and wear a skirt? It's perfectly natural!

LemonJ · 10/07/2018 14:49

Sick you were being hypocritical when you said that men are lieing when they say that they like a woman with public hair and went on to say that the men you have had sexual encounters with prefer it shaved without realising that they could actually be lieing to you and then.... going on to say how men lie about this that and the other but seemingly not to you.

LemonJ · 10/07/2018 14:50

Lyon not lieing and pubic not public

bananafish81 · 10/07/2018 14:52

Because it is not the 'norm' in my world, and I'm not sure your sweeping statement is right.

It MAY be the norm with women under the age of perhaps 35, but it's def not the norm for older women for whom such topiary was never on their radar as teens or in their 20s.

In RL I don't know of anyone who does it.

It's not a niche thing insofar as there are salons offering intimate waxing in every town, it's very widespread. If a beauty salon offers leg waxing, chances are they also offer Brazilian / Hollywood waxes for women - some will also offer back, sac & crack intimate waxes for men (although fewer salons will offer the latter). An increasing number of salons will offer laser hair removal too

They're on high streets all over the country - they're meeting popular demand. There are now dedicated waxing & laser hair removal salon chains (eg Strip, the Ministry of Waxing). It's the norm insofar as it's very mainstream

TornFromTheInside · 10/07/2018 14:55

Lol @ tastes fresher.
They don't taste sweet either. It's a pleasantry. Not a truth.

If we put aside our own preferences, male and female, I think it's just interesting to try and understand what causes a sea change I behaviour or style choice. Hairy chests are generally out, bearded hipsters are back in, big hair is out, little or no public hair is in...

How does something so personal and seemingly of our own volition just happen to occur in time with lots of others?

TornFromTheInside · 10/07/2018 14:58

It's not niche, but this is where conformance occurs. Does the market respond to a need, or does the market create the need?
There is a lot of money to be made from grooming your wotsit, and not much to be made from the unkepmt look. It's little wonder that there's so many products and adverts influencing our choices.

TornFromTheInside · 10/07/2018 14:58

*unkempt

chickedychicked · 10/07/2018 15:08

in the middle East it's more to do with religion, men and women are required to remove pubic hair in most middle eastern countries

chickedychicked · 10/07/2018 15:09

sorry, I should say that was in reply to a PP

SickOfSitting · 10/07/2018 15:14

For me it's the assumption that this is exclusively about the young. Upthread it was mentioned for a while that men over 50 aren't interested in porn or pubic areas.

Porn isn't something that has been invented in the past 20 years, it's just more widely available now and easier to access. Men have been looking at and watching porn for decades. My ex dh had a stash of dodgy 80s porno movies hidden (and shock horror, not all the women had full bushes on the cover) which I found one day. But he didn't watch porn you know. Never.

I always remember Paul Raymond who owned Penthouse magazine telling someone that they "shave it now," and going on to say how he was "never a fan of the bush." This would have been the late 80s/early 90s so this is nothing new. I also remember seeing a few lads mags in the early 90s and seeing women with a landing strip.

As for older men watching porn, they grew up in the days of the porno mag and the dodgy video tapes. If they were looking at that in say the 80s as young lads, they will be in their 50s now or thereabouts. They probably haven't just switched off watching it because they got older, especially nowadays it's so easily available. Someone can sit in their car on their lunch break and watch porn on their phone; it's that easy.

That's not me saying some men don't watch porn but from my experience, most do or have done and some oddly lie about doing so.

LemonJ · 10/07/2018 15:20

But he didn't watch porn you know. Never.

You're really pissing me off now. Why is it so hard for you to understand that not all men lie and not all men watch porn. Some men feel as strongly as they do about animal rights (for example) as they do about the porn industry and they can actually not use it in the same way that they can be strong enough not to eat meat or whatever.
Just because you want to feel as though everyone does it so it's okay it doesn't mean that there aren't some men who are against the prob industry and everything that it stands for.

Joey7t8 · 10/07/2018 15:27

As if a hairy one tastes mouldy LOL!!!!!!

The hair holds the smell; there’s definitely a different taste.

SickOfSitting · 10/07/2018 15:29

Lemon my post wasn't directed at you? So why so pissed off. I said it about my own ex partner because he did lie about it.

I don't particularly like the thought of my dp watching porn, although I'm much better at accepting it than when I was younger as used to get very cross about it. But from my experience, men do watch or have watched porn and they often do lie to their partners about doing so.

My dp is brutally honest and told me during a get to know each other discussion that he has watched porn. I must admit it was quite refreshing that he was open about it.

SickOfSitting · 10/07/2018 15:32

I had an ex who's goaty beard used to smell of what he had been eating 🤢 He didn't used to rub it all over his beard or anything but I used to hate him eating pizza because his beard smelt of cheese if had to kiss him. He was abusive so it would have been too much of a thing to tell him.

As you were Grin

Vashna · 10/07/2018 15:34

I’ve known DH 17 years and only found out about 5 years ago he watches porn. I would never have suspected it previously. He claims he doesn’t watch it for entertainment, it’s simply a means to an end - eg. if he’s on his own he’ll watch it to “speed up the mechanics”, or something like that. He says he doesn’t like porn with male “actors” in it but like female group stuff and stripping. He promises me he’s not into the violent stuff, though I’m not convinced as 80% of it is violent imo. He’s not all all sexist in real life really, never lies about anything and is a quite moral person in general. He would say all men watch porn and if they don’t, then what are they thinking about instead because it’s probably very similar.
I do think porn has a massive effect on society yes, and I worry about young people who are exposed to it in formative years. But the media and advertising are just as pervasive in shaping ideals about how we should want to look and we’re all exposed to that whether we like it or not.

bellinisurge · 10/07/2018 15:39

I think male facial hair is revolting and signifies either laziness or excessive vanity. Neither is good in my opinion. That's just me. Other opinions are available.

Grandmaswagsbag · 10/07/2018 15:43

The hair holds the smell; there’s definitely a different taste.

Well if you are tasting anything other than the clitoris (which is hairless) then you’re doing oral sex wrong.

SickOfSitting · 10/07/2018 15:49

Sorry for tmi but my dp uses his tongue all over my privates as well as just the clitoris. It's a very lovely sensual thing he does with his tongue all over rather than just licking away at my clitoris like a cat with a saucer of milk Grin

Joey7t8 · 10/07/2018 15:57

Well if you are tasting anything other than the clitoris (which is hairless) then you’re doing oral sex wrong.

Most, if not all, of the women I’ve had relationships would disagree that ALL attention should be on the clitoris during oral. Besides, the position of your nose and what it can smell will make a big difference to the perceived taste of anything.

QueenoftheNights · 10/07/2018 15:59

It's supposed to. It's called pheromones. They are supposed to be attractive and are part of the mating process.

If you are worried about the smell, a shower before oral is quite effective. In fact there are these things called shower gels which come in all kinds of different flavours and smells. Try some maybe?
