Sliders and socks, I just can’t stand it, I think it looks bloody stupid and defeats the object of sliders. All my sisters friends do it, all the local kids wear it. It’s just one of them things that pisses me off in an instant. If I wore this when I was at school I would have got severely mocked.
Any other popular fashion you don’t like?

Lots of fashions have looked stupid over the years. I’m old enough to remember
Footless tights.
Flairs.
Shirts with collars to the shoulder.
Kipper ties.
Oxford bags.
Bum flaps.
Puffball skirts.
Goths.
Punk.
Wearing one glove.

It is old people’s job to moan about contemporary fashion and music.

I'm annoyed that perfectly nice clothes have frills added, or a sleeve missing. And I hate sliders, but quite tempted by backless loafers.

I saw some girls on the bus with what I thought were slippers, I thought it was teenagers being too cool to get dressed properly. I'm too old for fashion

When I was a teen there was a fashion of wearing fluo ankle socks over tights, with court shoes. I support that's not really any better.

Like dozens of other old fogeys, it seems, I had no idea this was a new trend. I saw a girl wearing pink fluffy slippers at a station last week and assumed she had blisters or something and needed comfy footwear. I did think it was odd as she was very well turned out otherwise. .

Going to get some scholl sandals and beige knee length socks. Maybe I will be on trend for once.

Sliders used to be called mules back in the day. Flip flops have a toe post, sliders/mules just have the strap across the front of the foot.

Sliders have always called sliders it's not a new term. Flip flops go between your toes, sliders don't.

They weren't called sliders when I was a kid, I don't remember what the spanish family across the road called them, but it wasn't sliders - I think we just called them sandals...

I wear crocs and socks. Out to the bin, in the garden and sometimes to the local shop.

I will join you in this. In hot weather, crocs and socks is the way forward, and I don't care what people think. Otherwise they get slidy and sweaty, and grubby

Flip flops came either with or without toe posts when I was a child.
If the footwear item in question is all rubber- flip flop. Some other fabric ? Mule.

Anyway with socks...fine if they are not rubbber, weird if they are. I quite like a sock and sandal , if the sandals are clogs, or chunky, and it is September, or May.

My Mum used to wear this fluffy mule slippers in the 70's, fond memories of my very small feet click clacking around our tiled kitchen floor in a lovely lurid purple pair.

I checked with my available teen and he said sliders. Although both are acceptable. He is now over invested and has checked on the website where the section is called sliders but the individual products are called slides 😂😂
