DH just gone away for three days, otherwise he would talk me down I’m sure. But right now it’s just me and the DC and I’ve opened DDs room to discover this.... nest? Chrysalis? It’s about 5cm x 3cm. Help!

If it helps, this is a wasps nest - or the beginning of one. It was a little bigger than a golf ball. I know it was wasps as 'mum' hung around for about three days after I removed it.

Yours? Not a fucking clue, sorry!

Doesn’t look like a wasps nest, wasp nests are lighter in colour and look like they are made from cardboard 🤣

Looks more like a snail.

charliebear78 · 20/06/2018 18:46

Just a now quite famous snail!

Somethingsfallendown · 20/06/2018 18:46

TatianaLarina · 20/06/2018 18:47

Snails generally look like snails...

ToftheB · 20/06/2018 18:47

It’s a dusty snail!

MikeUniformMike · 20/06/2018 18:47

Get a glass and a piece of card. Make sure your DC is recording you. Wearing thick protective clothing and a mask, pop the glass over the alien. Slide the card between the alien and the glass. Take the glass outside.
Fling it to the far side of faraway, and relax.
Get DC to upload recording.
Put link on here.

GlassSuppers · 20/06/2018 18:50

Definite snail. You can see where the Shell curls round!

EtcEtcEtc · 20/06/2018 18:50

Seeingadistance · 20/06/2018 18:50

My son used to have Giant African Land snails, which looked like the one the OP has, but not as grotty.

SerenaWaterford · 20/06/2018 18:50

DH is saying it's definitely a snail.

Somethingsfallendown · 20/06/2018 18:50

Google wasp and hornets nests-images look different colours some similar to yours. Please don't move it....

suitandheels · 20/06/2018 18:51

Fucking hell! How big is it?

MarklahMarklah · 20/06/2018 18:51

Can't see the second pic (on a pc). In the first it did look like a snail with a deformed snail. It could be some sort of mould. It isn't a wasp nest.
