DH just gone away for three days, otherwise he would talk me down I’m sure. But right now it’s just me and the DC and I’ve opened DDs room to discover this.... nest? Chrysalis? It’s about 5cm x 3cm. Help!

Looks like a snail to me too. I would grab it with a carrier bag and put him outside.

veggifriedbreakfast · 20/06/2018 18:31

The replies are hilarious... No idea what it is though... Creepy

FuckPants · 20/06/2018 18:32

WTF?

I'd be firebombing my house if I found that.

Littlebunnyboy130 · 20/06/2018 18:33

Snail

SluttyButty · 20/06/2018 18:33

Ewww that looks like the toads that used to live in our old back garden. You could hear me screaming for miles when one surprised me.

I'd be locking up and moving into a premier inn until someone removed killed it Confused

AnnPerkins · 20/06/2018 18:34

POKE IT?!? Shock

This does remind me of an old thread, didn't someone post a pic of something similar a few years ago? I can't remember if it was a fungus or a cocoon or a nest now.

Not helpful. Sorry.

keyboardkate · 20/06/2018 18:34

Looks BIG in the pic but is only 1x2 inches. Whew,,!

Knock it down with a broom and run....

MunchMunch · 20/06/2018 18:35

Yeah looks like a snail, you can see it's slimy body in the top left section. God knows what's on its shell though

Cuttingthegrass · 20/06/2018 18:35

To answer your question I would not let DD sleep in her room with that there!

I'd be ducking taping the doors shut too

NoNarnas · 20/06/2018 18:35

Snail. Just pop him back outside.

FatCow2018 · 20/06/2018 18:35

I think those saying snail are right

halfwitpicker · 20/06/2018 18:36

Poke it? Say wad?

feathermucker · 20/06/2018 18:36

Snail

SD1978 · 20/06/2018 18:36

I’m joining the poke it (gently) brigade as I want to know what it is. The photo makes it look huge but the description of its size is quite small. It would be worse if you left it and it moved!!

halfwitpicker · 20/06/2018 18:37

This is a snail.

That lump in the corner is something else.

Peterrabbitscarrots · 20/06/2018 18:37

There was a similar thread a few years ago, it turned out to be King Alfred’s Cakes (fungal)

GlassSuppers · 20/06/2018 18:37

Another vote for snail 🤚🏼

I love things like this!

SparklyMagpie · 20/06/2018 18:37

I'd have said snail aswell

But I'd still fumigate just to be safe

AdaColeman · 20/06/2018 18:37

I'm coming round to the snail idea.
Get a cardboard box positioned under it, then knock it downwards with a stick/coat hanger/brush handle.

Homemenu1 · 20/06/2018 18:37

Op I once found something very similar moving on the toilet floor.
I picked it up and flushed it down the toilet, well it stuck to the sides of the toilet and the water washed it. It turned out to be a snail that I think that cat had eaten and then coughed up as a fur ball.

PanPanPanPing · 20/06/2018 18:38

It looks as though you've had a damp problem in that corner of the room for a while. No idea what the growth is though.

Benandhollysmum · 20/06/2018 18:38

If its a snail it will have left a snotter track..go and look but make sure you’re padded up in case it js a wasps nest

MrsMotherHen · 20/06/2018 18:38

holy fuck I would runaway if that was in my house.....Although if its a snail just pick the poor bugger up.

StaplesCorner · 20/06/2018 18:38

Snail.

Poke it.

You MUST poke it OP otherwise you should not be posting, you non-poker you

Homemenu1 · 20/06/2018 18:38

Either way you need to remove it incase it’s not a snail a hatches
