DH just gone away for three days, otherwise he would talk me down I’m sure. But right now it’s just me and the DC and I’ve opened DDs room to discover this.... nest? Chrysalis? It’s about 5cm x 3cm. Help!

Wow this thread!
A) it is hilarious
b) I had no fucking idea that you could get snails of this size just hanging around in the north of England.

I hope it goes in classics

EmmaC78 · 21/06/2018 22:12

I love the fact people are not RTFT and still coming up with suggestions 😀

tastylancs · 21/06/2018 22:17

You’re going to have to start leaving lettuces out for Gerald now. He’s part of the family.

daffodillament · 21/06/2018 22:40

What a giggle ! Mind you, I would have dropped dead if been confronted with that !

RitaMills · 21/06/2018 22:44

Shock at all your pet snail pictures, what does it feel like holding them? Are they cold and wet like I imagine? They are beautiful to look at, they really are but the thought of holding a massive one like that makes me tense up.

Marmite27 · 21/06/2018 22:45

I love the auto correct up thread for Tupperware (tipper water) Grin

Enjoy your feeedom Gerald!

Hausfrau29 · 21/06/2018 22:53

I haven't finished reading the thread yet, as I'm currently lying in bed trying to explain to my confused husband why I can't breath from laughing...

PippilottaLongstocking picture is so small on my phone screen that when I glanced, I thought it was "wiggly toot" and that's the best way I've ever heard a snail described 😂

Right, back to reading the thread.

Fleshmechanic · 22/06/2018 01:01

Looks like a snail

Monty27 · 22/06/2018 01:17

It's not Gerald it's Brian!

Grin
Biblio78 · 22/06/2018 03:30

Snail.

strawberrisc · 22/06/2018 06:26

Well done Biblio Smile

EmmaC78 · 22/06/2018 06:50

Biblio - RTFT!

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 22/06/2018 06:58

@RitaMills Yes, pretty much cold and wet, though they do warm up once they've been sitting there a while!

Once you've eased them off (shlooop!) your skin is lovely and smooth. Definitely don't need to kill them to make snail skin cream, just slap one on your face and bingo! Grin Grin

cakedup · 22/06/2018 08:20

I think it might be a snail.

And that his name might be Gerald.

EmmaC78 · 22/06/2018 10:30

Cakedup - I think you will find it is a wasps nest and the OP needs to spray it with something 😁

ralfeesmum · 22/06/2018 11:01

That looks like the stuff of 1950's science fiction!

Stephisaur · 22/06/2018 11:36

Missed your update OP but now fully caught up.

Goodbye Gerald!

This has made me want to watch Turbo now Grin

Emharri · 22/06/2018 12:48

Looking move to the outskirts of Edinburgh. Torn between East Lothian mainly North Berwick or West Linton. Are these commutable if we went to emes in Edinburgh?

Any advise on each area, shops, restaurants local facilities and schools would be much appreciated TIA

EmmaC78 · 22/06/2018 12:52

Emharri - you might want to start a new post in the Scotsnet section 😀 Although North Berwick is lovely and would be computable.

I feel sick

tastylancs · 22/06/2018 13:36

Roo that is hilarious!! Our Gerald is hitting the big time! I must try and find him to tell him. DD thought she spotted him on the roof but I think she’s getting paranoid. She slept in my room again last night.
