To be Gutted that Roseanne has been cancelled

I know her tweets were abhorrent but I was loving the reboot. I also feel for all the cast and crew who have now lost their jobs.

Ffs Roseanne, what were you thinking?

Honestly, I would watch a show centered around Darlene and her kids, with Dan, Jackie, Becky & DJ as supporting. Think about it, Middle aged feminist failed writer, single mom of two kids (both with unique challenges), moves back to her hometown to help her widowed father and takes up a job at a sexist casino that makes her dress like an old-timey whore. Various crazy relations are always popping in.

Darlene was always my favourite character on the show anyway, I'd watch your version, PurplePanties!

A spinoff would involve a payment to Roseanne as the show was created by her. I love Laurie Metcalf.

I only watched a few of them, it wasn’t really that funny. But I feel sorry for the rest of the cast and crew that have now lost their job because she can't keep her fucked up opinions to herself on Twitter.

I don’t know if I found the reboot particularly funny, but I loved the nostalgia and did find the storylines relevant. I was looking forward to seeing where they went with the current situations in the US

She may have created it, but I'm willing to bet ABC owns the characters and all of the production rights, and she hasn't written it in years. Several news outlets are reporting that ABC has been talking to Sara Gilbert and John Goodman, so we will see where it goes.

I did find the re-boot funny, especially in this day and age, and I think its important to have shows that highlight life for working class America. Like it or not, American television colors how that most American's live like Modern Family, when most live like Roseanne. The Middle was good, but they didn't touch on the tough issues, like how immigrant labor does effect unionized workers, or food stamps.

The revival had so much potential. It could have shown the world that Trump supports aren't nasty gun toting racists.

I wonder if they could remake it so Roseanne was just a voice like Howard's mum on Bog Bang Theory? Or treat her like a distant soap character and mention that she's phoned/emailed or be the character that people visit when they are written off/on maternity leave?
