To be Gutted that Roseanne has been cancelled

I know her tweets were abhorrent but I was loving the reboot. I also feel for all the cast and crew who have now lost their jobs.

Also, plenty of serial killers have experienced frontal lobe damage at some point, but we don't say, "Well, this might be a reason for their off-the-wall behaviour". Because it's a crock of shit. She might have mental health problems, but mental health problems do not a racist make.

That was Sara Gilbert's baby, her creation. She was totally behind the reboot.

I didn't know that, that's a real shame. Laurie Metcalfe is one of my favourite actors so I'm gutted about her too and all of them really.

Thanks so much. At this point, it looks like she may live, but she isn't talking and the doctors are not sure. I think she is in a minimally-conscious state. If she makes it out of that, the docs think she will have changes to personality and emotions etc. We just don't know at this point. Only in her 40s (hit by a bus crossing road).

Huge sympathy for the crew who will be grasping for jobs now. The cast well I imagine the reboot lead to the original being shown over again and their risidual cheques will be boosted.

It's a shame the early Roseanne show was ground-breaking with a working class family, strong women and some great comic writers and actors who went on to other great comedy shows like Big Bang Theory.

I think they could have made Roseanne's support for Trump a real part of the show. Working class people do support him and the understandable fear for their jobs and working conditions and community is behind that. Trump tapped into that fear and the patriotic feeling of many WC Americans. That could be an interesting part of the story of an American WC family in 2018 and add a bit of realism.

However the extreme racism and frankly crazy conspiracy stuff from Roseanne is just not supportable and I can see why they cancelled the show.

I know both Roseanne and Joan were Jewish, but that's what I mean. Joan seemed to get a free pass on her jokes, while Roseanne didn't.

She is a disgusting woman, her spot in the public eye makes her a role model. Not axing the show sends the wrong message. Yes it’s awful people have lost their jobs, her kind of hatred causes people to loose their lives so yabu abit.

Jay55 reruns are being cancelled, so the cast will lose their residuals.
Unfortunately this kind of thing does happen sometimes. I don't supppose the Glitter brand or the Lostprophets get too many bookings now. Roseanne was the brand and it was her responsibility to protect it.

The holocaust also included millions who were not Jews, including people with disabilities so not sure why being Jewish necessarily makes it okay to joke about it anyway. Plus, when it's okay for one Jewish person to make jokes and not another...well it's very strange indeed.

She was in trouble for it in the past and it's being raised again in news reports about this latest news re cancellation of her show. I only heard about the cookies for the first time today. I don't really follow social media or watch TV. Just that this caught my eye today.

Yes but it’s not why the show has been shut down, so the suggestion that Joan rivers ‘gets away with it’ and roseanne doesn’t, doesn’t really stand.
