To ask what your low cost luxury is?

We are trying to save money at the moment so there is little room for luxury.

I'd love to hear your low cost (or even free!) luxuries? At the moment mine are a cheap bunch of flowers and a coffee from the machine. I did buy myself some tights today but I'm not sure you can call that a luxury...

How do you treat yourself?

Got given a coffee grinder for Christmas. Now freshly ground coffee made on the stove is my cheap'n'lovely luxury. Feels genuinely indulgent.

DizzyBeeme · 26/05/2018 21:57

Omg I am loving this thread ! There is nothing like sinking into freshly washed bedsheets...my favourite simple luxury has to be scented candles and a clean house. I pay a cleaner to do a deep clean once a month - I them light my lovely aldi scented candle and relax..bliss

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 26/05/2018 21:59

I’m late to the Aldi candle party, but I know now. Cheers everyone

birdsandblossom · 26/05/2018 22:03

A beauty box, in particular one which comes with beauty products, herbal tea and treat.

Bubbly bath and a glass of wine.

Swim and steam at the gym.

wovendeckchair · 26/05/2018 22:05

the odd bottle of hand wash from molton brown in rhubarb and roses for my kitchen - £18 and lasts about 3-4 weeks.

a posh bottle of hand lotion for the living room - fragrant and feels luxurious. l'occitane or neal's yard remedies - £10-16

cheap bunches of aldi flowers.

basically posh stuff that's under £20. unfortunately, i do this about 3 or 4 times per month so it adds up

Fluffiest · 26/05/2018 22:06

This thread has inspired me. I am going to bed now in clean pyjamas with a magazine and a wee dram. Night Mumsnetters!

ShellieEllie · 26/05/2018 22:07

M&S Intense Dark Chocolate Single Origin Peru 85% cocoa solids 100g bar. Even better that I got 20% off chocolate with a Sparks card offer this week :) simply scrumptious

Jaxhog · 26/05/2018 22:08

Beans on toast. Absolutely love them.

Jaxhog · 26/05/2018 22:10

OMG, freshly washed bedsheets! With lots and lots of threads.

SM2132 · 26/05/2018 22:11

Foot pack, good book, chocolate/crisps/takeaway(not very cheap that one), hot bath, yoga, sunbathe in garden with a magazine, a glass of wine, a nap!
Not all at once obviously!

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 26/05/2018 22:14

I got a BN neals yard geranium handcream in charity shop today £5

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 26/05/2018 22:14

epsom salts (bought in bulk) in my bath every night

clean sheets

fresh flowers

FadingSomewhereInHollywood · 26/05/2018 22:18

When I've had a particularly stressful week at work and make it through to Friday morning, I buy myself a Pret chocolate croissant and filter coffee on my way into work. It's a nice little treat to help me get through the day!

Tigerpaws57 · 26/05/2018 22:20

No 7 hot cloth cleanser. Really hot water. Swap the muslin for a thick/rough flannel. Emerge with skin glowing like a toddler's.

Isle of Skye patchouli and sandlewood candle - absolutely blissful and relaxing.

Zoflora apple orchard - quick wipe round in the kitchen makes it smell like you've spring cleaned from top to bottom.

LegallyBrunet · 26/05/2018 22:21

My OH brushing my hair. Books, I get them from the library mostly because I’m on a student budget.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 26/05/2018 22:21

Sail Hughes always does good priced recommendations too

Sevendown · 26/05/2018 22:22

Massage from dp

Inflammable · 26/05/2018 22:23

What a lovely thread! Clean bedclothes definitely and I buy a coffee choux bun after any visit to the dentist and a copy of The Simple Life magazine every month.

SabineUndine · 26/05/2018 22:25

Posh soap.

OutofSyncGirl · 26/05/2018 22:25

Lush bath bombs. A hot bath with one of these is so underrated - I only discovered them when I bought them for my dc last Christmas. The smell of them goes into your hair...!

Pain Au Rasin from the M&S bakery.

Agree with clean bed sheets. I also love my electric blanket.

stressedoutfred · 26/05/2018 22:27

A hot bath with new bubble bath or a bath bomb

Lindt chocolate

Scones with jam and clotted cream

New pyjamas

Flowers- tulips are my favourites

I'm easily pleased! Grin

AgathaRaisinsCat · 26/05/2018 22:30

Yes, yes, yes to clean bedding. Also:

An hour of silence with a magazine/book
A coffee with a friend
A nice walk
Flowers
Shower gel that isn't on offer for £1
A bath
A lovely piece of fabric for quilting (a fat quarter is enough)
A book
An hour in the kitchen to try a new recipe

MinaPaws · 26/05/2018 22:31

Two bunches of Lidl roses at £2 a bunch. Add some foliage from the garden and you get a massive bouquet that looks expensive and lasts for well over a week.

Pret Americano with hot milk. It's pretty much a lower calorie latte for only 99p

New notebooks. I buy them obsessively. Tiger, Muji and Wilkos have good ones for not much, and TK Max have amazing ones sometimes. I use them for journalling or making notes and plans.

AdaColeman · 26/05/2018 22:32

Pain aux raisin and hot chocolate for breakfast.

Bunch of flowers put in a pretty jug.

Mint tea & honey at night.

Special bonus if the Daily 99pence Kindle book is something I'd like.

greendale17 · 26/05/2018 22:34

Box of Krispy Kreme
