To ask what your low cost luxury is?

We are trying to save money at the moment so there is little room for luxury.

I'd love to hear your low cost (or even free!) luxuries? At the moment mine are a cheap bunch of flowers and a coffee from the machine. I did buy myself some tights today but I'm not sure you can call that a luxury...

How do you treat yourself?

Magazines. Books from Amazon. Lindt chocolate bars. Sparkly lip glosses. The cheaper Irish Cream you get in Tesco.
My village convenience store always marks down unsold flowers and plants on a Monday morning and this week I got a gorgeous white orchid for £1.80. It brightened up a really crap morning 😊

GreatWesternValkyrie · 26/05/2018 21:04

A medjool date stuffed with peanut butter

Oh my plingly, I’m definitely trying that!

viques · 26/05/2018 21:04

Posh soap from TKMaxx, I haunt the reduced section and pick up the ones with damaged packaging.

birdonawire1 · 26/05/2018 21:06

Shower and hair wash with lovely smelling conditioner, scented body butter and clean sheets

Grenoble124 · 26/05/2018 21:06

A good cup of coffee, a couple of magazines at the weekend, hot showers / fresh PJs and a home made dessert.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 26/05/2018 21:07

got a litre pureolgy shampoo for £5 as pum was broken,I took it home popped in a new litre bottle

Whyohwhy65 · 26/05/2018 21:07

Ben and Jerrys but I only buy it from home bargains. It is always 2.50 there. Or I get it in Morrison's when it's on offer so I can get points on my more card Grin

fleshmarketclose · 26/05/2018 21:08

A bunch of flowers with the home delivery weekly shop. A new audiobook usually the audible daily deal, nice bread and ham from the deli, cup of tea and homemade cake. I'm easily pleased though.

MirrorMirror21 · 26/05/2018 21:08

Currently reading this in a bubble bath with a large glass of wine, ready to get into a clean bed - making me smile Smile

I'm trying to watch the pennies too. I'm trying to stick to one treat a week - which atm is the Tesco finest meal deal. If you and/ or DP/H drink wine, it's such good value. For two- a main, a side, a dessert and a bottle of wine (which would usually cost £7+) for a tenner. The food is bloody lovely aswell. The chunky chips are to die for. Honestly restaurant quality - god knows what they put in them! I eat/ drink half Friday, half Saturday. Makes me happy Smile

The80sweregreat · 26/05/2018 21:10

Decent tea bags.
Yes to a clean bed. I tend to sleep better.

NotCitrus · 26/05/2018 21:13

Pret filter coffee. Only 49p if you take your own mug.
Aldi/Lidl bars of good dark chocolate.

Lovely conditioner after I go swimming.

Jaimx86 · 26/05/2018 21:13

Decleor neroli serrum. It's £30 upfront but lasts for approximately 3 months. At roughly 30p a day, its certainly my favourite low cost luxury. It makes me skin glow!

In addition, daily salmon fillets and berries are my foodie low cost luxuries.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 26/05/2018 21:16

Make your own sea salt spray for hair, easy and cheap

elvislives2012 · 26/05/2018 21:17

I've got my own tea cup (NOONE else is allowed to touch it), diffuser and loose leaf tea. Gives me a little lift in the morning

Yesiamhappy · 26/05/2018 21:18

Bubble bath with a good book, glass of wine, some good chocolate and lots of candles - bonus points if it’s pouring with rain outside and you can hear the rain on the window

Followed by getting into a bed with freshly washed sheets

Or lovely evening with lots of wine and good friends - and no babysitters to worry about

Oysterbabe · 26/05/2018 21:19

I like the M&S Dine in for £10. Luxury because I don't have to cook and there's wine.

HildaZelda · 26/05/2018 21:19

Chocolate lava cakes from Aldi. They're a twin pack so you can have two treats! Grin

applesandpears56 · 26/05/2018 21:20

Clean sheets
Fresh pjs

Hot water with bubble bath in in a bucket as a cheap foot bath then rub cream on and do nails
Take time to do hair nicely
New book
Glass of wine in the garden
Early night
Lie in
Favorite tv programme

Wash windows - sounds weird but it gives such a satisfying feeling that it makes house so clean after
Ice cream

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 26/05/2018 21:21

I’m needing to get into Aldi more, based on this list

applesandpears56 · 26/05/2018 21:22

Oo and a day trip to the sea side - worth the travel money

mycatplotsdeath · 26/05/2018 21:22

Mani
Pedi
Deep hair conditioner
Aldi flowers
Magazine
Glass of wine in a lovely bubble bath

plominoagain · 26/05/2018 21:22

A magazine subscription ( my mum renews it every Christmas so to me it’s free ) , so I can covet other people’s houses .

A clean car (washed and hoovered by the DD , who genuinely likes doing it , and gets paid £10 for her efforts )

A new audiobook . But my biggest luxury is having the time to enjoy it all . Have just changed shift pattern to one that gives me a lot more time , and I feel like I’ve lost 20 years off my age .

Gorja · 26/05/2018 21:23

A couple of balls of wool to crochet something with.

applesandpears56 · 26/05/2018 21:24

And you and your partner swap turns for a massage

dontcallmelen · 26/05/2018 21:24

Line dried, freshly ironed sheets.
Flowers
Fresh crusty bread & good butter.
