To think I actually do need to lose more weight? (Photo)

Sick of being told that I don’t need to lose anymore weight. I’ve lost a considerable amount so it does get commented on without me ever bringing it up.

Disclaimer (I know I’m not huge, but I was obese last year and I think it’ll stay with me forever and I’ll always feel big. I also didn’t leave the house showing my stomach)

I would aim for another loss of half to a stone = your thighs are chunky but maybe your jeans are too tight so giving the wrong impression that you have back and side fat?

Those jeans are loose on me if I’m being honest. I’m not a size 8, but a comfortable size 10.

I’m not sure how you can say I have a fat back when you can’t even physically see it. You clearly have an issue with the fact I dared to post a photo. Really have no idea why.?

Another Two stone will make you look haggard and ill , IMO, but perhaps that's the look you're aiming for?

You can’t evdn see my face though Confused

Being blunt if you carry on and loose another 2 st that will be 4 st in total and you will start to sag

What will be 4 st in total? I never said how much I weighed before.

I’ve lost well over 4st at this point and I’ve definitely not sagged.

I really don’t think you need to loose weight.

GinIsIn · 07/05/2018 06:51

I’m the same height as you and was a size 10 at around 11 stone 5. Anything under 10 stone and I look dreadfully unwell. Why don’t you aim for something in the 10s and then reassess? You definitely don’t have 2 stone to spare. I became fixed on 9 stone as a goal weight for my wedding, and when I look back at the pictures now, I look awful!
My face was all angles which made my nose and square jaw look huge, and my collarbones stood out like a runway which looked awful with my dress.

notafeeling · 07/05/2018 06:53

You look amazing. Well done!

NeeChee · 07/05/2018 06:58

Your stomach looks great, I wish mine looked like that!
I know what you mean about people being dismissive when you say you want to improve your figure. I've always been slim (size 10ish ATM, but normally a 6/8 on a 5'6" frame), but I'm not happy with my figure right now, my stomach is wobbly and I have love handles. I put weight on on my belly, and sometimes I look pregnant with my little beer belly :( I want to go back to being toned again. I'm in no way huge but nothing fits me and I feel so unfit and uncomfortable.
People laugh though when I say I want to exercise and eat healthily, as I'm being attention seeking. FTR I don't go around saying "I'm so fat", it's just when exercise comes up in conversation and people say "look at you, you don't need to exercise"
But I do, I'm lazy, I just want to be healthy.

neighbourhoodwitch · 07/05/2018 07:00

omg you look absolutely awesome! perfect!

OrcinusOrca · 07/05/2018 07:01

You look really good in that photo, you carry a few extra lbs well by the looks of it. I'm 5'8.5 and 11st, would rather be nearer to 10, and people tell me I'm being stupid. It's about what weight you feel good at, providing that's a healthy weight still.

Jordan4531 · 07/05/2018 07:04

If you're healthy then you don't NEED to but if you want to that's up to you. But remember that after being obese to thin you may always see your flaws more acutely that most. I used to be a very big child and it made me a little poorly when I lost weight and I use tho obsess over getting fat again till I was pregnant with my first. Ironic because now I'm 5ft4 and a size 14 and couldn't care less. I think maybe instead of focusing on weight loss you should maybe focus on toning up? That way you still 'improve your body but don't run the risk of becoming obsessed or poorly.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 07/05/2018 07:06

How did you do it OP? You look great.

And no offence but I do believe you could weigh that ‘much’. I weigh much more but i don’t look like it, even the docs etc are surprised at the number on the scale. I’m very very muscular naturally (but also currently have a lot of fat too 😂). So tell me, strong friend, how did you lose more than 4 stone? I wanna!

AnnieAnoniMouser · 07/05/2018 07:07

There has been some utter shite posted on this thread 🙄

I think you look great - well done 🎉😊

If I just saw you as you are in your photo, I’d just think (if anything) ‘lovely healthy figure’. However, as you were asking I looked more critically and thought ‘Yes, there’s a stone there you could lose and not be underweight’.

Do what makes you happy 😊. Try not to be annoyed with people who say you look fine/lovely/great as you are & that you don’t need to lose weight. They’re not wrong exactly, but if you want to lose a bit more it’s not going to tip you into underweight, so it’s not a problem.

You’ve done really well & look great 💐😊

RomeoBunny · 07/05/2018 07:08

Wow, someone was honest saying the OP had big thighs so could lose a few more lbs and the OP took offence.

Almost like the whole post is for BS goady reasons! Hmm

OP your thighs are way chunky. I have chunky thighs too and quite like them. But if you don't then yes, lose a couple of lbs and cut your body fat%.

If the whole post is just to admire your belly button, then also, losing another 5lbs or so would do that the world of good too if you want that look as you'd be able to show some tone.

Don't ask for opinions if you don't want honest ones Smile go to nethuns for flattery

icklekid · 07/05/2018 07:18

Op. I've lost 4 stone and now a size 8. I wasn't happy as a size 10 and went to gym and do lots of weight training too. Why not lose another stone and see how you feel. Don't worry about what others say. I've had 2 children and still have loose skin on my stomach I'd love to keep losing but such life!

EdWinchester · 07/05/2018 07:27

11 stone 9 and 5’5? Are you sure?

You don’t look it.

I’m 5’ 7.5 and would look really porky at that weight. You don’t!

At that height though, you probably could lose a stone to be in the healthy weight category.

MollyHuaCha · 07/05/2018 07:27

IMO you look lovely as you are. If you wanted to, you could aim to lose another 8lbs maybe?

Unless you are a serious exerciser with loads of muscle, I think BMI is a good guide.

PostNotInHaste · 07/05/2018 07:31

I agree with you but think you should get to the top of your BMI and reassess there. I’ve seen enough photos on My Fitness Pal where people say they want to lose another stone and thought ‘ where from’ then seen the after photo and can then see where from.

It is very frustrating when people go on about you not losing weight when you’re in the overweight category still but I think it’s the comparison of where you were before to now so they can’t be objective plus with over 60 percent of people being overweight or obese perceptions have been skewed.

I’m an inch taller than you and a couple of pounds heavier and have lost 7 stone over the last 18 months. Am now getting a lot of the don’t lose anymore weight thing . I definitely need to as have a roll under my boobs which is the worst place to carry fat so I’m continuing till the top of the BMI range which I hope will shift most of it and that’s where the surgeon who did my gallbladder told me to get to so just carrying out doctor’s orders.

I do think it takes a long time for our brains to catch up with a large loss. I look at some of my clothes and think no way will I get into that even though logically I know I can because I have .

Bluntness100 · 07/05/2018 07:31

To be honest, I'm also a little surprised by your reactions op.

I'm now wondering if you wanted people to post to tell you you looked fine and didn't need to lose more.

The photo and jeans are not doing you any favours. Your stomach looks flat, but your thighs a bit heavier. However if you're genuinely a comfortable size ten then it means the picture is misleading. I'd have assumed a 12-14 from the image.

If you feel happy at this weight stop. If you don't then yes you can lose some more weight and still be within a healthy bmi.

Whatever your real motivation is with this thread, you need to decide for you.

frumpety · 07/05/2018 07:39

So your question is do I need to lose more weight ? Well looking at one photo I would say no , there is no actual need to do so from a health perspective. Could you , yes almost certainly . Do you want to ? it sounds as though you think you would be happier at a lesser weight. If you can achieve it whilst not depriving your body of anything it needs to function healthily then go for it.

polkadotwellies · 07/05/2018 07:39

Why don't you continue eating healthily and do your excersise and your body might continue to change or might not. Don't focus on losing weight when you got a great figure.

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 07/05/2018 07:40

11 stone 9?! Wow what's crazy. Where are you putting it all?!

I am the same height as you, also wear a size 10 and I weigh 9 stone. If I weighed what you weigh I'd be a size 16.

JiminyBillyBob · 07/05/2018 07:41

Are you wearing Spanx in the pic?

seventh · 07/05/2018 07:43

You can’t evdn see my face though

I meant body wise. I have a friend who insists on losing More and More weight. She's early 40s. Her skin on her bum, tummy and arms is now saggy and crepey.

She only really needed to
Lose a stone and a half at the outset imo

I thought she was stunning before the weight loss.

I still think she's stunning. Just .... saggier.

seventh · 07/05/2018 07:47

You clearly have an issue with the fact I dared to post a photo. Really have no idea why.?

Wow

You ask for opinions and then, when you don't like them, turn Princess

Good luck

I'm gone.

noeffingidea · 07/05/2018 07:49

It's hard to tell from one photo. To really get a good idea you need 2 full length photos, 1 from the front and one sideways. I look good from the front, when I turn sideways it's a different story.
Apart from that I would just aim for a healthy BMI and being as fit as possible. Most weight loss programnes suggest a BMI of being around 22 as an ideal weight.
Congratulations on your weight loss so far. You've done fantastic.
