@Sidalee7 that's very interesting. 200 still seems a lot for that 'book' but I guess that's pretty paltry. How many copies per week does a bestselling book sell? I'm curious to know how FOD's book is going too.

There's so many accounts out there that don't hashtag their ads or gifted stuff, high profile ones too, I'm glad instamums are being more transparent but there's still a long way to go.

Ha ha!!!! I'm just reading the comments on mods post....the dark undertones of mumsnet....erm...its people having a chat about people that annoy them in the public eye. Like they do by water coolers. It's not a fawning, echo chamber of compliments because that doesn't happen outside Instagram.

@raffish anything under a thousand isn’t good especially when you think how many followers she has. I guess a journal is pretty niche, but still she will have been paid a huge advance that her publishers will never recoup.
FOD has 800 k followers, it will be interesting to see how many buy his book.

Oh and MOD - fyi, we can't "slander" you on here. Slander only relates to the spoken word, i.e. oral defamation. You're welcome.

(We could libel you - written defamation - but I don't think you have a full grasp of what that actually means either, as it has to be both factually untrue and be be damaging to your reputation, and someone's personal negative opinion doesn't count. )

I'm just trying to imagine a whitewashed world where you are banned from discussing people flogging their kids pictures to strangers on the internet for cash....which is what they seem to want.

It's almost like the attention on MN died down and someone on Instagram decided to whip it up again.

@raffish I don’t know what hers was but I don’t think FODs would be much below 100k, crazy!

I think her editor had the idea for her books so no agent to demand the big bucks, but even if her advance was under 10k pr so they will still not make any money on it.

All these Instagram accounts describing how they were taken to 'dark places' because comments were made on MN that can't be made on IG.

Do they really think everyone is a fan of what they publish online? Is this what an Instagram echo chamber creates?

Is their opinion of themselves so high that don't realise a significant number of people are vehemently opposed to their business model which relies upon hidden advertising and the exploitation of children?

Sidalee I'm shocked

Had a look through the comments and they are just eye rollingly embarrassing. All this 'we should be building each other up' talk. I generally don't care about IG but it does make me wonder how either (or both) naive or contrived these women are. It's like someone having a negative opinion of them is a bu lly MOD tagged loads of accounts of people who have never been mentioned, she seems to be trying to ignite the 'campaign'. She keeps bringing the trans issue in too.
