like that? she talks of "threats" to MOD - what threats? You can't just go making stuff up or over inflating reality to suit your narrative. Her comments were offensively dense and provocative.

Yeah but no but,if ya read the thread there was stuff which to most people would come across as threatening if they were on the receiving end of.
Even if there wasn't, just because you didn't see it, does that mean it hasn't happened? They're fat liars as you never saw it so can't have happened?

Yup, was thinking I wonder actually how many do unfollow and if they do if their self imposed ban is longer than 5 minutes

Cady, my understanding of the # and the post/story I've seen was a blanket dislike of MN threads. I realise now that NB said it was the Holly W thread that tipped her over the edge. So they are in a sense 'hate following' which is ironic...

I think part of the issue is the herd mentality on instagram. This actively discourages critical thinking and evaluation. Plus, how can an instagrammer admit that they have over-exposed their children? Their whole business model fails plus they run the risk of offending the big fish like MOD who is not one for introspection and has a very thin skin. Not a good combo

It reminds me of a MLM to a certain extent. MOD et all are the upline. You might get followers based upon her endorsement and support of you. If you fall out, that could materially affect your business which is predicated solely on likes and comments. You must never question the upline and need to fully buy into the philosophy. Anyone who doesn't or queries the business model (and they are businesses) is jealous or trying to undermine the sisterhood and must be dealt with firmly - that is exactly how younique works. Coupled with the shady "charitable" foundation with a rather unethical set up and very unclear aims. Somewhat like some of the campaigns we see on instagram

It's pretty difficult to unfollow and then not have a look because so much gets recycled by someone else in their follow circle (there is another descriptive term for this but I am too couth to say it). Unless of course it relates to the issue of child privacy in which case there tends to be resounding .

Ah yes,the Holly thread. That was perfectly rational, not nasty at all. No idea why they thought enough was enough if they caught that one as well then

And I did 'feel' the word Ad in MOD's story even if no-one else did 😆

I'm sure MOD does feel threatened, actually

But I think she needs to examine very carefully why she has that feeling. I would suggest it is because these threads are critically examining her business model and this is a platform which is widely read by potential advertisers, followers and possible followers. Despite her best efforts, there isn't a way to shut down the discussion and all of her attempts are actually making matters worse. It's out of control now and no doubt MOD is panicing as a large proportion of her and FOD's income is based around their instagram presence.

I agree with the comment that MOD actually needs some external PR help pronto from an unbiased and professional source to help protect her business. Not just an agent who will wring her dry in the short term but has no vested interest in strategically protecting that business

I think it’s kind of nice for people to show the funny/disastrous side of parenting too. Because although we ALL know we go through the same sht, it’s good that people are sharing it and thing to find the humour and exasperation of it.*
