To want to know WHAT HAPPENED!?!

willynillypie · 05/04/2018 16:52

Guys, I KNOW how sad this sounds but I am on maternity leave with a lot (A LOT) of time on my hands - I was following two threads which were absolutely amazing in terms of the responses - the unforgettable CF house sitting thread, and one about taking a 5 month old baby to the cinema. Went out to run errands, came home...BOTH THREADS HAVE BEEN TAKEN DOWN!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HOUSE SITTING SITUATION!?! DID THOSE CFS GET THE MONEY!?!

I expect to be told I have no life, this is fine Smile

Apologies for the caps lock, I am just VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE THREADS Grin

OP posts:

Am assuming the soft play woman trying to bully friend into paying her entry and for her lunch recently was a troll as has disappeared. Had gone very Pete Tong with abusive texts and threats of OP facing the consequences of her actions.

Did like taking the high ‘toad’ though.

chuffinghellmun · 06/04/2018 10:46

The soft play woman thread hasn't gone yet @YoThePussy

YoThePussy · 06/04/2018 10:48

Thanks, will search again for that one. Rather over invested in the rudeness of the ‘friend’.

Theluggagerules · 06/04/2018 11:23

@oldpoundcoins thank you for update, so glad it's working out

DobbyisFREE · 06/04/2018 11:24

This thread is giving me so much closure, thank you! If it gets taken down I may cry.

Thequeenisdeadboys · 06/04/2018 11:32

It's so boring that the good ones are always taken down. There was a funny one last night. It appeared to me that the op was screamingly pissed up and ready to goad, accusing mumsetters of being hysterical when posting about anything topical ! She didn't have the slightest clue what she was saying, the grammar was laughable but still the thread continued until that bloody deletion thread appeared !

ushuaiamonamour · 06/04/2018 11:32

Moneyissue2
Oh, I could’ve sworn the post said “you do realise you’ve used real names” indicating that s/he knew the op. Yes, there were such a post. Didn't occur to me at the time that it might have been from someone OP knew, but that makes sense.

The only OP I still wonder about from time to time was a young woman living at home with her mother (parents?) and I think younger brother. I seem to remember that her family were originally Indian. The mother was horribly restrictive & controlling and IIRC forbade her daughter to move out when she entered uni, which she was soon to do. (For whatever reason I associate this thread with a bicycle--??) Daughter sounded sincere & v. worried & I think posters in the end encouraged her to find a way out. Sorry to be so vague, but I'd love to know was there a resolution.

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 06/04/2018 11:35

Thanks for the locked safe update!

GabsAlot · 06/04/2018 12:05

genuwine apparently was a troll i was fully invested in that one

softzilla is still going as its been named!

pangolina · 06/04/2018 12:22

I always think about a poster called MrsHenryWinter who had a very controlling husband. I hope she got away.

KnockKnockWhosThereEurope · 06/04/2018 12:28

Oh thanks for the update shalli , good to know she’s sticking to her guns. I hope it all works out for her.

bettytaghetti · 06/04/2018 12:37

Some of the stories that are subsequently deleted when identified as trolls are really entertaining. Can they not be moved to a new "Suspiciously Hairy-handed Author" topic? Grin At least when we read them we would know we're not being duped!

bettytaghetti · 06/04/2018 12:40

YoThePussy that thread's still active: For not paying even though I invited

yellowfreesia · 06/04/2018 12:43

There was a CF parking one ages ago that I remember. The OP's house shared access with a couple of other houses and the neighbours were viciously unpleasant and intimidating. Police had been involved but to little effect.
If true it was an awful situation. I wonder what happened or if they're still there suffering. Having had an absolutely poisonous colleague at work for years, I know it's perfectly possible that it was true.

boxyfingo · 06/04/2018 15:43

Pangolina I remember that thread but couldn't think of her name. She seemed so alone didn't she. I always hoped that she managed to move on.

Skippetydoodah · 06/04/2018 16:01

I always wonder about the one where the OPs mother was incredibly controlling and at the last post had locked herself in the OPs flat pretending it was hers or something like that. I think the OP was Welsh originally but lived in London and the last post I remember I think the OP was going to call the police.

Skippetydoodah · 06/04/2018 16:04

And the poster who ended up taking on her stepchildren after she'd split up with their dad. I think they were 2 girls and they had behavioural issues (weeing on furniture deliberately) she had her own children and a baby on the way, I was always totally amazed by what she coped with.

PictPerfect · 06/04/2018 21:24

I would love to know what happened with the poster whose neighbour had knocked down the post at the end of their front garden wall betweeem their drives and rebuilt it differently with a plaque or something. The general consensus was that the neighbours were probably going to put gates up but the thread got deleted as it was too identifying so we never found out the outcome

I agree ~ would love to know what happened in the end

MyFavouritePlace · 06/04/2018 21:28

@GabsAlot thanks!

HakeLively · 06/04/2018 21:29

I am the OP of the house-sitting thread for anyone interested.

They were not their real nsmes! I'm not an idiot and my partner is not a Gary Grin

BUT yes it did end up in the press and my MN inbox is full of journo requests.

I freaked out and had them pulled. I don't THINK I've been 'outed' but it was certainly an 'oh shit!!' Moment when I got back from work and saw it'd made the press Blush

Gemini69 · 06/04/2018 21:33

aww goodness Hello Hake

that was awful it ending up in the press.. so wrong.. glad your okay Flowers

HakeLively · 06/04/2018 21:34

I know I probably sound horribly naive but I wasn't aware they could actually do that without permission Sad

Sparklingbrook · 06/04/2018 21:36

If you don't want it in the papers/on Loose Women/The Wright Stuff/This Morning et al then don't post it. It really is that simple.

HakeLively · 06/04/2018 21:37

Although it did amuse me one journo requested I contact them to give 'my side of the story'. What did you think it was?!Confused

fuzzyfozzy · 06/04/2018 21:39

Thick lazy journalism
