I walked into m&s this afternoon with my children in tow, I got what I needed and was walking past the lingerie and thought I'd grab a pack of nultipack cotton bikini knickers.
i obviously hadn't paid attention as when I got home I realised I'd picked up full briefs instead of bikins.
They are massive and yet i don't want to return them as they look so bloody comfy, would I be unreasonable to keep them and wear them?
DH would look at me say what the actual f are you wearing however he is a little too fond of his loose greying boxers that he keeps wearing so often so he can't talk.

Big pants rubs thighs

I'm a fan of the sloggi short type, and just ordered a pair of the double comfort shorts even though every time I see them they look horrid. I'm all for comfort now, so will see what they feel like once on.

May even look at the M&S ones.

PatchworkGirl · 24/03/2018 13:53

Got my first big knickers from M&S a few months ago (bought by mistake) and I am NEVER going back. So comfy. Not BU.

theredjellybean · 24/03/2018 14:12

i love all style of lingerie ..and for all you who are keen on the bigger knicker, they don't have to be frumpy. You can get, and infact are increasingly 'trendy' bigger knickers from places like Victoria Secrets and i love retro styles so have loads from What Katie Did.
I love them as they are both comfy and sexy ..
M DP is also a fan of me in this look so that helps :) and he loves buying it for me...double whammy !

Ariesgirl1988 · 24/03/2018 23:14

I did the same thing accidentally bought full briefs and tried them on and I've never looked back so comfy and they don't all come in "frumpy" colours either!

ElizaDontlittle · 25/03/2018 07:12

@Lucked I see what you mean. I also wear high waisted trousers b/c of the stoma issue so I'd maybe underestimated the problem.

Cranb0rne · 25/03/2018 07:23

Haven't read the whole thread but I did exactly the same thing a few months ago OP! They should really make the descriptions on the pack clearer. I did keep them, however, and wear them all the time Grin

Tailfeather · 25/03/2018 07:31

Ha!! Definitely keep them! Although it is a downward spiral in the undies department.!I bought similar cheap ones for after I'd hadn't baby, fully intending to chuck them after a few weeks. However. 1 year on, I still wearing the cheap, big pants and all of my pretty, lacy, wispy knickers are still waiting in the drawer.

Frogletmamma · 25/03/2018 08:49

Big pants are lovely
Big pants are tops
Flaunt them in bedroom
Buy them in shops
Show them off proudly
In fine roomy musters
And when they are finished
They turn into dusters

LittleMissLonesome · 25/03/2018 09:06

I bought huge granny knickers after my csection nearly 6 years ago. I'm still wearing them....Blush

thegreylady · 25/03/2018 09:16

I am 74 so have lots of reasons for wearing big knickers...
Sainsbury’s are great for value and EWM are very comfy too but Sloggis are probably the best. I have never fancied a bit of scratchy lace up my bum though I did have pretty little pants bought by dh. I keep one pair in my knicker drawer for old times sake 🙂

morningconstitutional2017 · 25/03/2018 11:22

I love large comfy pants, those that begin at the waist and end just below the backside and I don't care what anyone says about them and neither should you.

Wauden · 25/03/2018 18:56

I have found my people!

maggiso · 25/03/2018 19:46

So I am not the only one who buys pants in a rush and accidently finds the perfect fit? I failed to notice the 'high waist' label on what I thought was a multipack of cotton Brazilians ( the nearest I will ever go to anything close to a thong). They are a bit of a misnomer giving much more bottom coverage than a Brazilian- but are lovely- lacy in an understated non scratchy way, not high enough to show at the waist, don't show under jeans- don't annoy my tummy the way midis can -and comfortable. Sadly I see they have disappeared in the sale!!

boatyardblues · 25/03/2018 20:48

They are lovely and comfy, and dont forget its very trendy to have the waistband of your pants showing over the tops of your trousers.

This is hilarious ^. I honestly don't think high fashion includes BIG pants. Grin But they are soooo comfy. My MIL bought me some emergency granny pants (airtex fabric too - sexy!) after an EMCS. I was sorry to part from them and went back to stupid, ordinary sexier knickers. However, as I've got to my mid-40s , I've gone back to big knickers. DH is still having sex with me...

sv650 · 25/03/2018 21:52

Who cares what the size of knickers is. there gonna come off anyway Grin Grin

missymousey · 25/03/2018 22:21

Keep them and never look back! I bought 2 packs after my c section and I hate all my other pants now. Haven't quite reconciled myself to them being a permanent look but I'm feeling encouraged by all the other big-pants-wearers I've found on this thread!

I spent my summer holiday in.blue and white striped big bikini knickers, halter neck bikini top and a white hat. In my head, I looked like a 50s pinup. In reality, my parse had its own gravitational pull and caused a waiter to drop a full tray of drinks. Will be wearing them again.though.

itssquidstella · 25/03/2018 22:31

I have a selection of enormous beige knickers that I wear as period pants, and sometimes to bed in lieu of pyjama bottoms. DP hates them, so I make a point of flaunting them at him whenever I wear them.

Wouldn't wear them in situations where VPL might be an issue, though. I have some amazing Tezenis seamless thongs which are really comfortable and also relatively "sexy", instead.

soupforbrains · 25/03/2018 22:36

Definitely not unreasonable in the slightest. I've been wearing the absolutely ginormous UniQlo shaper shorts daily since I was mid 20s.

Obviously if sexy time is on the cards I wear something else... (although I've been known on occasion to just shed the ginorm-a-shorts in secret before the ... er ... big pant show)

DesignedForLife · 25/03/2018 22:37

I bought big pants after crash section, they were a life saver. Still wear them now when the scar gives me gyp, but otherwise have reverted to smaller pants as they kept showing above my jeans which isn't a good look. DH isn't phased when I crack them out.

BigbreastsBiggerbeard · 26/03/2018 00:09

Has anyone tried wearing men's trunks? They always look to give much better coverage than many women's pants. I've seen some Sloggi men's trunks and would love to try them, but of course, there's the excess material hanging about in the front. Guess I could always store my emergency crisps there?

How come men get practical pants and women get....stupid pants?

AjasLipstick · 26/03/2018 01:25

I did the same yesterday! I LOVE my new big pants. They come right up to my waist and contain my entire bum.

DH likes them too! Grin

LellyMcKelly · 26/03/2018 01:36

You would never in a million years find a man wearing uncomfortable pants so I’m baffled as to why anyone thinks that women should. I’m a big fan of an M&S big pant in my correct size, and a Lycra heavy vest a size smaller so I feel all tucked in and snug. Life is too short to be pulling scratchy lace out of your crack.
