I walked into m&s this afternoon with my children in tow, I got what I needed and was walking past the lingerie and thought I'd grab a pack of nultipack cotton bikini knickers.
i obviously hadn't paid attention as when I got home I realised I'd picked up full briefs instead of bikins.
They are massive and yet i don't want to return them as they look so bloody comfy, would I be unreasonable to keep them and wear them?
DH would look at me say what the actual f are you wearing however he is a little too fond of his loose greying boxers that he keeps wearing so often so he can't talk.

I bought some in the latter stages of my pregnancy 2 years ago, aged 28. I have never looked back. I get positively excited when I pull the money out of my knicker drawer!

They’re ugly as fuck and DP hates them but I just don’t care. I love feeling secure.

Hillbillyhotel · 19/03/2018 20:54

I laughed at my two sizes (whilst pregnant) too big, M&S full briefs that I bought for c-section recovery. My DD’s now 13 Months and I will only wear those pants! Amazzzzing...and an effective contraception method Hmm

tiptoesquiet · 19/03/2018 21:05

well I tried them on and wow they are amazing, I'm afraid I'll never go back to normal sized underwear again.
I showed my DH and his reaction was exactly as I said earlier but he also said as long as they're comfy who cares.Grin.

They will become your precious. Keep them.

affectionincoldclimate · 19/03/2018 22:30

@ESAWTF They look like that in the picture but they aren't at all. In fairness, I'm size M and wear L in those as they are better fit. They go all the way up past my belly. That picture does not do them justice Grin

RosaRosaRose · 19/03/2018 22:32

YANBU. Big pants are the thing. Daughters and mothers in this family, married, dating, single (me). Big pants. They're good.

BettyBaggins · 19/03/2018 22:32

I recently discovered under trouser pants, in flesh no less, primarni. Huge, no vpl. Soooooo cosy Grin

GerrysSuccessor · 19/03/2018 22:33

So glad that I’m not the only one who bought massive pants for having my first baby 5 years ago, and have never gone back. I also only buy tights and leggings that I can pull up all the way to under my tits, so lovely and comforting and cosy!

Octave777 · 19/03/2018 22:33

They're so uncomfortable though!! You can feel them on your tummy. I've done the exact same thing and gave it a go but couldn't cope with feeling like my flab was having to be tucked into my knickers!

Gingernaut · 19/03/2018 22:36

I went through my knicker collection and sorted out all the midi high legs.

I only have big knickers now.

Ski40 · 19/03/2018 22:41

I used to wear a wide selection of beautiful and rather tarty😉 g strings. Then I had children. I'm 42 and after 4 pregnancies and 2 c sections is up to the waist, super control black shorts for me. I have just accepted it now 😢
(Keep them, just call them shorts 😁) x

Zoflorabore · 19/03/2018 22:42

Big knickers here too :)

I love buying knickers, always have, slowly they are getting bigger.

I remember when dd was a baby and her Moses basket sheet was on the washing line with other stuff.
Dp was bringing the washing in later on and passed me the sheet and said "here are your knickers" and he was being deadly serious Grin

MsJuniper · 19/03/2018 22:48

Yep, another one here who bought a pack post-CS and 6 years later I'm still a fan... just so comfy and if you convince yourself it's a kind of 50s look then they could even be stylish...

Figmentofimagination · 19/03/2018 22:49

I love my big knickers! Bought them originally to wear on my period or over my tights (brilliant for a short person to wear to keep tights up), but since getting pregnant and then having and EMCS they are the only underwear I wear now. So comfy!

Belindabauer · 19/03/2018 22:50

I recently bought big knickers and they are great.
Why should women wear unomfortable, scratchy crap.
Men dont.

mistermagpie · 19/03/2018 23:02

Another one who bought cheap big pants when I was pregnant with DS1 and is still wearing them. DS1 is nearly 3... I only ever wear thongs under very clingy dresses and that's hardly ever. Tesco are my big pant supplier of choice.

I've never asked DH what he thinks of them, but he's got boxers he's had since before we met and which are all faded and awful, so he is not one to judge.

llangennith · 19/03/2018 23:04

I’m a size 20 so I always wear big knickersGrin When I look at the packs of tiny briefs/high leg/thongs etc in my size I’m so glad I’m old enough to enjoy my big knickers.

WatchoutDSisdriving · 19/03/2018 23:04

affectionincoldclimate - Wow! Big pants are great, I have recently converted to all bamboo socks but bamboo pants -wow!

When you say you are a medium what size are you? I am an 18-20 and hoping xl will fit?

UrgentScurryfunge · 19/03/2018 23:14

Nothing sexy about constantly extracting small lacy things from various cracks or them giving up and rolling under the CS overhang and surplus skin.

High legs which tend to have a decent waist on them have always suited my well developed glutemus maximus anyway. Minimalist styles and I are not compatible. DM has always despaired about my lack of glamorous undergarments, but she has a different bodyshape that doesn't eat silly skimpy things. There was a thread a little while ago about gussets in the wrong place and how they lie too far back to be of benefit which is an issue I face that doesn't seem to bother DM.

I've got a gorgeous high waist bikini which allows me to bare my midrif to the world and tuck away the spare bits Grin

WatchoutDSisdriving · 19/03/2018 23:15

I have ordered the bamboo ones now and a camisole...

NurseP · 20/03/2018 13:33

Welcome to the party, Ginger!

VileyRose · 20/03/2018 13:35

Omg I love big pants. I can't wear all those lacy things. I literally don't care as all about the comfort!

Whatshallidonowpeople · 20/03/2018 13:41

Shorts or Brazilian pants are big but still look good

ifancyagreencard · 20/03/2018 13:49

LN (lovely neighbour) taught me the best phrase ever:
Harvest Knickers . . . . "All is safely gathered in" Grin

AlmostAJillSandwich · 20/03/2018 14:08

I am so OCD about my knickers that i can't wear big pants :( I just cannot stand them poking out the top of my outer wear as i have this feeling my underwear is contaminated with germs, and outerwear keeps them fully covered to keep the germs contained. But i also can't stand pants that don't come up high enough so your arse crack gets exposed if you bend over, or that keep rolling down over the hips/front needing to be pulled up all the time. Also due to IBS/bladder issues i have to wear sanitary products daily just in case to curb my anxiety about having an accident, which doesn't work with a really narrow gusset, i like/need thigh to thigh coverage! Argh!

I just about manage with matalan high leg cotton briefs, BUT i just had to buy a new lot and they've changed them :( Of the 4 pairs ive worn so far 2 were thrown out after wearing as the elastic has come away from the cotton part of the pant, once on the waistband, the other at the hip and down round the leg hole. The material itself is thicker and nicer and a bit stretchier, but this also means they pull up higher than they used to, so i'm having to not pull them up fully and then the bunching/slack annoys me.

Really wish i could afford to have my very own personally measured, designed, and WELL STITCHED pants made to fit my own body perfectly, if only!
