I know this might not sound a big problem to a lot of people but I have a constant female moustache shadows on my upper lips. I don’t even have a problem with hair it’s juts this constant blue/ grey tinge that has got worse and worse over the last couple of years.

I don’t smoke I’m not on birth control and don’t have any hormone issues I’m aware of. I’ve tried home remedies, chemical peels and led light treatments, vitimans and every expensive covering foundation on the market from £6 to £45 and nothing hides it.

I’m so so self conscious of it now. I’m not making eye contact with people even walking to my car all I can think is of the shadow. I see people staring at the area also.. when I cover it I use peach/ red liostick then concealer and then foundation and it still is there ...

I’m getting desperate. My partner hasn’t said a word but I seem him looking at it almost in shock .. I didn’t have this a couple years ago when we met. I’m so sick of hiding my face with my hands, not having confidence to even look people I know in the face.. and worst all I cannot even cover it and go about my day... please help! Does anyone have this problem ? Could my Gp help!

Nah, can’t see it OP.

But I do see a very attractive lady with stunning eyes.

Just out of curiosity, did you used to wax your upper lip hair?

mrsBeverleyGoldberg · 15/03/2018 11:02

Go to the gp to get some cbt to control your anxiety. Thanks

RoseWhiteTips · 15/03/2018 11:03

I want to add too that you have a lovely lip shape.Smile

pictish · 15/03/2018 11:03

“If people are staring it is because you have such a lovely face.”

I absolutely agree.

Shmithecat · 15/03/2018 11:06

I'd live with a moustache shadow if I had a top lip like yours OP. Mine is practically non existent.

lubeybooby · 15/03/2018 11:06

OP you do not have a problem. You are completely normal. I would say so and advise good cover ups if I could see an actual problem, I am not trying to be nice, you do not have any problem there at all whatsoever.

The problem you do seem to have is some kind of dysmorphia over it maybe. Psychological?

UpstartCrow · 15/03/2018 11:07

Find a professional make up tattooist and see if it can be covered up to match your skin tone. (If you're ok with having a tattoo, )

davidbyrneswhitesuit · 15/03/2018 11:09

Well done, OP, for listening to what everyone's saying - that's not easy when you thought you'd just get some tips on foundation! Off to the GP and ask for some help with this thinking, beautiful lady Flowers

davidbyrneswhitesuit · 15/03/2018 11:10

^^ hahaha, for the love of god, don't follow the tattoo suggestion Grin

Inthedeepdarkwinter · 15/03/2018 11:12

UpstartCrow to fix what? Imaginary darkness? Surely no tattooist would actually do that, given there's no actual problem?

The other thing that occurs to me, OP is that you are very lucky with your lovely face, but there are lots of people reading this who might have less lovely faces, dark hair taches and blemishes, right through to significant facial disabilities. One of my very close relatives has something people do stare at but it doesn't stop him going out at all, that would be completely the wrong way to live your life. I don't like the idea you have to be perfect to dare to show your face in public, in fact, it's really important to go out and engage with people and contribute to good things if you can because that's where real worth lies anyway.

LimonViola · 15/03/2018 11:13

I actually think you might have body dysmorphia, OP. What you do with that info is up to you.

GayAllen · 15/03/2018 11:15

Well a)I’m not generally nice and b) this is AIBU so I was all set to make a crack about Hercules Poirot but honestly I couldn’t see a thing in your first photos and could just about make a hint of something out in the others.

Most disappointing.

Orlandsundry · 15/03/2018 11:16

'I don't like the idea you have to be perfect to dare to show your face in public, in fact, it's really important to go out and engage with people and contribute to good things if you can because that's where real worth lies anyway.'

@Inthedeepdarkwinter has it exactly.

Oysterbabe · 15/03/2018 11:17

If people are looking at that area they are looking at your lovely lips, nothing else to see just a normal face.

TheTab · 15/03/2018 11:18

I'm also going to add, that absolutely NOTHING is visible.

Ive got more an I am fair skinned and blonde.

Mummyslittleprecious · 15/03/2018 11:19

Groupon do £39 Offers for 6 sessions of Laser Hair Removal. It's meant to be mostly permanent

FannyFifer · 15/03/2018 11:23

Everyone that's kind of pale has this, a sort of blue tinge to the area, can't really see it in any of your pics though.
I have it, just think it's a normal thing to have, I'm Scottish so pale & often blue looking anyway.
I've honestly never thought anything about it.

VioletSnowflake · 15/03/2018 11:32

If I was offered a million pounds to study your picture and pick out what you were bothered about, I would never ever win that money. It is literally the thing I would never think of. Believe me I would be trying!

I have had something similar on a very hot holiday. I felt it might be caused by the sun, so I applied sunblock to thar area only. It seemed to help, but my DH told me I was imagining both the original problem and the improvement Smile

Peanutbuttercups21 · 15/03/2018 11:34

you have a nice shaped mouth

Can't see a shadow at all, or anything resembling a moustache AT ALL, and I have just peered at on my PC screen (so not even on phone)

Peanutbuttercups21 · 15/03/2018 11:36

your lips are screaming out for some lipstick though (I would, anyway, if mine looked like that nice)

Lookatmenow · 15/03/2018 11:40

different parts of anyone's faces have different tones

Under the eyes will always be a bluish colour in comparrison to the cheeks becausethe skin under the eyes is a lot thinner.

The lip area will also be thinner comapred to the side of the mouth/cheeks because it needs to move more with ease, to pout. smile, open wide, purse etc

I really can't see anything wrong but i think you're at a stage where you're now too focused on this and need to maybe see your GP for some sort of councilling or self help in Body dysmorphia

x

blueskyinmarch · 15/03/2018 11:42

You are gorgeous and there is no hint of anything on your upper lip. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

GorgeousJaws · 15/03/2018 11:42

Well I can see it, it's the same colour as your beard!

Jokes, I can't see any 'tache OR shadow.
And yes, you have a lovely shaped mouth.

picklemepopcorn · 15/03/2018 11:43

There you are! And as lovely as we thought.

Gemini69 · 15/03/2018 11:44

I'm very dark OP... l use 'Jolene'... which lightens the hair without removing the hair.. used it for years... if you feel you need it.. it's a great little product Flowers
