To find ordering in subway stressful

Just asked my oh what we should have for lunch suggested a KFC or a quiche from a local patisserie.

He suggested subway. It gave me the rage.

I actually don't mind the food but the ordering process and all the questions actually raises my anxiety levels. Especially if you want more than one sandwich.

I mean you can't just order and wait you have to constantly speak and wait and the queue always takes ages.

Aibu? Anyone else?

I've never into stepped into a Subway, but I'm a sandwich hater!

We go to the Middle East a lot with DH's work.

They have something over there called Which Wich (basically subway) but you pick up an empty packet and simply tick what you want and hand the empty packet over and they return it to you filled with your exact requirements so you can specify exactly how you want it without even having to talk to anyone!

I am guessing that those who find all these choices hard also think that mustard on a ham sandwich is the height of cosmopolitan sophistication?

No I’d just rather the shop take care of the minutiae like which bread, what type of ham, which kind of mustard etc and just presented me with the perfect combination without adding to the million and one descisions I’m expected to make on a daily basis!

I like subway, but this is my problem...

So I look at the menu and order something like the big beef melt.

Then they ask which bread? Er, the big beef melt bread?

Do you want cheese? Looks like it comes with cheese, are you asking if I want that cheese or extra cheese or different cheese? Does cheese cost extra?

Toasted? It's a melt, it should be hot. Do you do that by toasting? Or is it normally done by some other method and you are asking me whether I want it toasting instead?

Salad? The menu picture had salad on. Are you asking if I want the salad it comes with? or extra salad? Or different salad? Is there a cost difference?

Sauce? Well, which sauce is meant to come with it?

Or is the menu actually a list of ideas, and really it's like a sandwich shop I used to frequent? At that place you chose your own filling, and the cost was for 1 meat/cheese/etc, 1 salad and 1 sauce, anything else cost more.

That's exactly it holidays. Places like that are notorious for offering extras without mentioning that they all cost extra and suddenly your sandwich costs twice as much as you expected and contains a load of stuff you didn't want anyway.

So subway has prices for the type and size of sandwich which means 6 or 12 inch, then the main filling.

Bread sauce salad toasted and standard cheese doesn’t afaik affect the price

Life really isn't that complicated if it causes you stress ordering a sandwich buy a pre made one.
