I have ginger hair. Long, lustrous ginger hair.

Not auburn, or anything like that... it's ginger. GINGER.

Lovely long ginger tresses that shine like copper in the sun.

People actually gasp in awestruck admiration as I trot past, my long ginger hair flowing out behind me like a mane of fire.

So.

I was having a coffee with a friend the other day, when they said, apropos of nothing, 'Oh, you're hair's not really ginger, you know, it's.... [and i can barely bring myself to type the words].... STRAWBERRY BLONDE.'

So I killed them.

I fucking hate 'Strawberry Blonde'. I too am a lustrous silky ginger as is my DS. And I am very proud to be Ginger, as is my DS. Anyone says I am anything other than ginger is treated to a death stare. If they do it again, I kill them too!

Mines getting a bit dull in my old age. I do have a weird blonde streak that I’ve had for ever.

I'm also genuinely bothered that apparently it's a trait that's dying out. I'm not sure if it's ethical to force some kind of ginger breeding program, so perhaps a cull of non-ginges is the way forward.

I'm a strawberry blonde (mainly blonde although darkening with age). The only problem is blonde eyebrows and lashes, I have to dye them both DSes are a lovely shade of mouse - wonder why I was unable to create red headed children? does it skip a generation?

DS is strawberry blond, genuinely, mostly blond until it gets wet and then it's dark red. I am proper fiery ginger (used to hate the world but I have since come to reclaim the ginger and stand proud!)

People used to say to me as a child in a horrified voice "oh my god, imagine if you had ginger babies!!" As if that was the worst thing that could happen. I wish I had ginger babies.

Im a natural strawberry blonde, in some lights it looks a mousey dark blonde but when the light shines on it it looks gingery.

I am jealous of all those girls with long flowing ginger hair. Half my cousins have beautiful long, shiny ginger hair. The rest of us got the other set of genes for mousy hair. Very upsetting.

I was born with orangutan orange hair that has thankfully toned down quite a bit as I've aged. I hate being called 'ginger' though and refer to myself as a 'redhead', although I have been known to wistfully occasionally stray into 'strawberry blonde' territory because it sounds much prettier.

fellow redhead here ... I hoped my daughter would get my red hair .. DH genes were stronger .. it does have a red tinge in the sun light ... she's still a beaut though

All shades of red are good, from full on ginger to just-a-touch-of-strawberry-blond.

I'm a former red-head, now merely (naturally) auburn but with copper highlights so I can pretend I'm still part of the clan. Fortunately I have the colouring. But I'm always weljel of proper ginger locks and I'm totally scandalised that anyone could dismiss that as 'strawberry blond'.

When you say you killed her, did you kill her with the fire you started from your fiery tresses? That's a superpower I could do with.

Why do we call it ginger though? Actual ginger root isn’t that colour.

Vice - it’s lasers from the eyes that usually does it. Especiallly the green eyed red haired people. They are the ones to watch out for.

If love to see all the ginger hair. It's my fav hair colour I'm a very boring dark brunette and would love to be a proper red head. Il just sit in the corner quietly jealous of you all.

I was never a full ginger unfortunately because I had blond and red hair. So I'm an actual strawberry blonde I suppose. I always liked my hair colour as it was just as stunningly gorgeous as all you fierce redheads.

DS is a lovely titan red though. I adore that he's got that colouring, and it's paired with the most amazing eyes. I'm quite jealous as it comes from the other side of the family.

When i was younger my hair was proper light red cinnamon shaded ginger, i hated it then been teased all my life about it, now im older and its fading to more strawberry blonde i miss my flaming locks

I’m dreading the day my ginger goes and I can’t replicate the colour with a box :( people ask everyday it’s natural, it is, but it won’t be for long the way the greys are sprouting :(

Ginger hair is the best colour and nearly impossible to egg right from dye (box or pro) - I hsve tried and failed resulting in various shades of orange and brass. Envy.

Google tells me that we are genetically advanced.. so obviously your friend is just jealous OP
