To write on my neighbours car with lipstick?

I'm a wheelchair user - manual atm, because I can't afford an electric one. I live in a cul-de-sac, and several doors up there is a guy who parks his car on the pavement in front of the lamppost - which forces me to use the road, (pedestrians/parents with buggies have to walk round it too).

There are 2 off road parking spaces down our road, each providing parking for up to 10 cars. One of them is used by just one car. Given that this means trying to get up and down a raised kerb, which is impossible in a manual chair, what it usually means is having to call my ds out of the house so that he can do that for me.

A few days ago (after months of this) I had my notebook and pen in my bag, so wrote a note to leave on his windscreen. (I really hate being forced on to the road, it gives me awful anxiety):

Hi. I am your neighbour and a wheelchair user and parking on the pavements like this forces me onto the road. Please park more considerately in future. Thank you, and Happy Christmas

I got my son to stick in on his windscreen under the wiper. The following morning he was parked on the pavement right in front of my path so I couldn't even leave the house. He's now done this 3 times.

A friend of mine has suggested I write another note, on his windscreen using lipstick. (She is also a wheelchair user).

AIBU or is this (minor) vandalism justified do you think?

Smear something unmentionable on his windscreen, he deserves it.

Calvinlookingforhobbs · 31/12/2017 21:43

I don’t think this is the best way to resolve your issue. Car Parker is clearly unreasonable and smearing anything on is car is only going to cause bigger problems. Good luck op

IrkThePurist · 31/12/2017 21:43

What a knob. Write ''Cook Pass Partridge'' on it in lippy or washable chalk.

Nicae · 31/12/2017 21:43

I hate this type of selfish parking and I haven't got anything like your reason (I push a double buggy a lot of the time and really dislike being forced into the road). I tend to go for full on (polite but very cross) direct confrontation whenever possible and attempt to make people move there and then. If this isn't an option can you get a traffic warden around? Isn't it an offence to park on the pavement - if not it should be.

Appleandcinnamon · 31/12/2017 21:44

Call your local police officer and ask them to remove his car. At the very least a cso will come out And ask him to move. He trapped you in your own home. Such a selfish git.
It’s illegal to park on the pavement and your neighbour is a total tosser.

HundredMilesAnHour · 31/12/2017 21:45

Is it worth calling 101 and asking their advice? Maybe there's something more "official" that can be done as the neighbour is clearly a CF who doesn't care about polite notes.

steff13 · 31/12/2017 21:45

Write ''Cook Pass Partridge'' on it in lippy or washable chalk.

I don't get it.

Sparklingbrook · 31/12/2017 21:46

YABU to write on the car in lipstick.

RavingRoo · 31/12/2017 21:46

Call the police. Keep calling the police every time he does something aggressive

RunningOutOfCharge · 31/12/2017 21:46

Me either steff

yorkshireyummymummy · 31/12/2017 21:46

Bloody , nasty CF.
What an utter bastard he is.
I don’t know if the police will be any help ( not tonight at any rate) but I would be taking photographs and then on Tuesday I would report him to the police and ask them for their help.
I know that it’s illegal to park blocking somebody’s car in but I’m not too sure how the law stands with a wheelchair but it’s common sense to think there must be some law in place to protect disabled people’s rights to leave their own bloody homes!!
Maybe the council can help too........???
I didn’t want to read and run so just wanted to give you some support.
But IMO the starting point has to be taking pictures and keeping a log of his inconsiderate —utter bastardly— behaviour.
And, on another parking thread I just read about dog 💩 under the car door handles. This sounds like a topping new year idea to me.

chocolateorangeowls · 31/12/2017 21:47

I'd call the police, I have a relative who had similar issues with neighbour and they came out to it.

crazycatlady5 · 31/12/2017 21:48

Those who don’t get Cook pass partridge clearly don’t watch Alan Partridge

steff13 · 31/12/2017 21:49

I don't even know who Alan Partridge is.

BeulahBattleaxe · 31/12/2017 21:49

Is it possible that he doesn't understand what a hassle going on the road is for you? He may have read it but thought you just didn't like going round his car. I'm sure if he realised that it's not as simple as that he would be willing to help.

MMcanny · 31/12/2017 21:50

Don’t the nhs provide wheelchairs?

IrkThePurist · 31/12/2017 21:50

Cook Pass Partridge
Its a joke from 'I'm Alan Partridge'. Someone wrote Cock Piss Partridge on his car just before he had to meet someone important.

IrkThePurist · 31/12/2017 21:51

MMcanny
No, the NHS dont provide wheelchairs, people have to buy them.

comedycentral · 31/12/2017 21:51

If he seems to be going out of his way now to block you in then surely it's harassment. Do you have a local PCSO that you could chat to for advise?

Rockandrollwithit · 31/12/2017 21:52

Wow, what a bastard he is.

I know someone who got a ticket for partially parking on the pavement, the reason being that a wheelchair user would not be able to get past. Report him and then hopefully watch smugly.

comedycentral · 31/12/2017 21:52

Advice I mean! I'm tired!! Best wishes OP.

crazycatgal · 31/12/2017 21:53

Take photos of his car blocking the pavement and report.

StripeyDeckchair · 31/12/2017 21:54

Have you a disabled parking permit?
You can request a disabled parking space outside your home. Anyone who is disabled can use it but CF neighbour can't.

IndianaMoleWoman · 31/12/2017 21:54

It won’t solve the immediate problem but you can contact the council to get H markings or a disabled bay put outside your house so no one parks there, ever. I’m sorry that you have to deal with such an inconsiderate arsehole.

Do you have someone who you would trust to go round and speak to him calmly about it? If he still parks there after being told face to face (extremely long shot but maybe he can’t read English?) then he has no excuse and is clearly an arsehole.

DamnSkippy · 31/12/2017 21:54

I would invest in some of these.
