I think we risk underestimating how pernicious the damage this does is, and how it drives a lot of the narratives being broadcast day in and day out. It's also worth noting that these narratives are aimed at the liberals. Halperin, Cilizza, Lauer, Charlie Rose, Thrush, and more have all been prominent liberal anti-Hillary voices and I don't think it can be a coincidence that they've all been found to have sexually harassed women.

Vice dragged Hillary Clinton through the mud, fire and hell and made the white men like Bernie Sanders out to be an angel with this untouched progressive resume while dismissing his Republican votes. They even attacked Hillary Clinton over the Crime Bill that Bernie voted for.
Yes, people (hopefully) grow and it would be unbelievable if anyone could go through life not changing their minds on things but this is an insidious problem that might be easy to dismiss on a case by case basis but that actually starts to paint an awful picture when you consider the rest of the landscape.
