Ouch. Definitely take it slowly. I dropped a trolley Jack on my ankle, huge gash, dragged myself in the house, bandaged myself up. Thought nothing of it.. Bit sore, bit achy. Went to work, lugging PCs about as usual, carrying my babies upstairs, driving etc.
Foot swelled up a bit, quite red.. School nurse "ooh, just bad bruising". Didn't half ache a bit at times. Fast forward a couple of months.. Couldn't raise my foot. Went to the doc, referred for an x-ray, back to the doc "we need to see you urgently"... Walked in..
"When did you break your ankle?".."er.. Surgical, about 30 years ago, it's in the records!"..."no.. This is fresh, less than 4 months ago, clean break".."ooh, ha.. Is THAT what the ache was?".
Referred for nerve conduction tests.."oh, Christ. You've got spinal nerve damage. If you feel anything in your legs, it's probably agonising in reality, how has this never been noticed?!"..
I thought it was normal to not notice if someone parked a car on your foot. Heh.
