To think zoella is lying

Skip to 33. The calendar that her own company makes she says it's all down to boots and they choose the £50 price. She's been doing products for years and has full ownership of her company. She's not new or anything to releasing products

It's been on sale for two months and it's her name on it and was apparently only sad in the last few days when the backlash started.

Her body language is all off, avoiding eye contact and looking around. She says shes not in it for the money but has a long history of releasing cheap stuff for high prices.

Not sure if this has been posted already...

To think zoella is lying
Whirliegigspider · 18/11/2017 00:30

Jesus Christ while watching that to find the bit op meant I heard her talking about answering a Skype call with her boobs out? What the he'll? I thought she was young teen friendly.

AngeloMysterioso · 18/11/2017 09:32

@Theresnonamesleft @IhaveChillyToes @RoseDog @DontOpenDeadInside that Eltoria vid reminded me of

“Oooooohh! Look at this one!!”

AngeloMysterioso · 18/11/2017 11:03

Who the hell asked her to get involved??

Picklesandpies · 18/11/2017 11:19

Yadah yadah yadah ... ‘THIS MAKES ME SOOO SAD!’ (Said in weird half Aussie accent.) And I don’t trust anyone who speaks as though everything’s a question. She must think the people buying her products are idiots.

MaisyPops · 18/11/2017 11:22

She's certainly nothing like a grown woman. The emotional blackmail of her own fans "if you know me, you know I wouldn't be money hungry", it's awful! And they are falling for it in their droves.
It's complete manipulation and actually quite creepy the way some of these youtubers go on.
we're friends and I'm just like you 13 year olds even though i'm actually in my 20s making millions out faking friendships with children in order to sell shit

MistressDeeCee · 18/11/2017 11:33

This woman is 27 years old...just 3 years from 30. I truly don't understand what her teen fanbase see in her. She's not even in their age group she's a grown woman. Sometimes I wonder if it's a lemming-like thing - a few start following then it simply becomes fashionable to follow, and grows from there. Amazing.

Honeydragon · 18/11/2017 11:36

Aaaaaaaargh; it was the creative process that made it work out so fucking expensive. Why are brand Zoella more entitled to their mound of flesh than the various manufacturers or the distrubuter?

Picklesandpies · 18/11/2017 11:40

I feel the same Maisypops. I don’t like all the cutesy wutesy little girl acting. Very odd for a woman of that age. If I actually met someone like that in real life I’d wonder whether they had some issues. Sadly a 13 year old won’t see it for what is it though - 27 year old preaching from her swanky house about how she’s not all about the money at all. Bleugh.

HeatherWeather · 18/11/2017 11:43

Not read through the whole thread.

Saw a link about this only today. Quite a funny YouTube video of someone opening all 12 doors to see how the £50 price tag could be justified! It couldn’t!

Then watched a clip of Zoella (only heard about her these past few weeks as there was uproar about an event where YouTube ‘stars’ didn’t really make an effort with their fans) apologising and using the excuse of not knowing what the calendar was going to be sold for! Come on! Bullshit on a big shitty stick!!

Itsgonnabeacoldone · 18/11/2017 11:43

twitter.com/thi_stop/status/931819570998005760 zoella apparently complained about a 50 quid toy for children at boots Hmm

She seems to have got away with her "apology" video

Not read the whole thread either but watched her video.

Am imagining Deborah Meaden in the Dragon's Den:
'So you've got your products and you've got an agreement with Boots and Superdrug to stock them... how much are they going to retail for?'

'I don't know - that's entirely up to Boots and super drug to decide.'

And then DM doing her best Hmm expression, holding her hands up and saying I'm out.

ShowMeTheElf · 18/11/2017 11:57

On a positive note, having had difficulty deciding what to get for teens this year as they need nothing and want things i'm not prepared to buy, I've made each an advent calendar as part of their gifts. The two cost less than £50 to put together and one is getting 24 books and the other a selection of make up/accessories/nail varnishes. All tissue wrapped and numbered. It was fun. They've always just had sweets before.

Boots have apparently dropped the price to £25. The shite that's in it.
I wouldn't even pay £2.50
Poundland here I come.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 20/11/2017 08:15

YY She'd get eaten on Dragon's Den.

CoolCarrie · 20/11/2017 11:52

And spat out !

Kickassname · 20/11/2017 12:10

I remember looking at her stuff in Superdrug and absolutely balking at the prices. It's just overpriced tat. Half of it isn't even particularly nice - not to justify those prices anyway. The prices are marked up to make her (and retailer) a nice profit and she knows it.

At her age she must be fully aware that she is putting on a fake persona in order to befriend thousands of young girls and manipulate them into saving all their pocket money/birthday money to waste on this overpriced stuff and make her rich. I could not live with myself doing that.

Those tweets don't surprise me at all. And the one where she claims selling a Barbie to young kids for £50 is shameless 🤣 I guess she got inspired?!

Zoe Suggs needs to rethink her entire self imo.

I pray this trend has died out by the time my dd grows up.

Sandra8484 · 01/05/2020 20:53

my dc watched her. She wanted us to go meet her so we flew to america for a holiday. We waited in line for two hours and once we got there dd and dc took a picture with her. Dc tried to ask her a question but the zoela person spat in her face. I gave zoey a hug and we left. Great vist. Shes a lovely person.
