I had a molar pregnancy this year and it was fucking awful. I’ve seen a ‘friend’ today in the street and she completely blanked me. I messaged her when I got home and asked what was wrong.

And I got back a tirade of abuse about how I’d had an abortion and killed my baby and that if I never got pregnant again it would be karma.

I did have a D&C to remove the molar pregnancy but it wasn’t a baby, it was a complete molar pregnancy with no genetic tissue. It fucking broke me to have that operation but I’ve never considered it to be an abortion.

I have not replied as it’s totally flawed me, but I need to know im not being unreasonable to tell her to go fuck herself

I haven't heard about molar pregnancies before, so thanks for the info. Won't make any difference to me, I'm past that, but I'll be better informed if if happens to my younger relatives, and hopefully more able to provide support.

My friend went through a molar pregnancy. I admit I didn’t know what it was, so I did my research. I then realised what a horrible thing it was. I’m 32 and I’d never heard of it. But she could have at least fucking looked into it before being such a nasty judgmental bitch.

My friend resumed TTC 18 months later and now has a gorgeous baby girl

Shocked and horrified (understatement) at your ‘friend’s’ response! I would email or text back with an attachment explaining molar pregnancy (Charing Cross website eg) and no comment. Then have nothing at all to do with her again and block her from your contacts and all social media.

I had a partial molar pregnancy a few years ago (and chemo to treat it) so have some sense of what you are going through.

There are layers of stupid, and layers of evil here.

First of all, as others have said, she's just pig ignorance about what a molar pregnancy actually is.

But second of all, it takes a special kind of evil person to have a go at someone in the street over an "abortion". Regardless of her stupidity, that by itself is an indicator of a bad. bad person.
