Kellyohojn · 06/10/2017 21:50

Had about 10 dates with him.
Paid for myself on each date (which is fine by me)
Tomorrow night he has invited me to his for a Mexican themed night (just me and him)
He said he is making some tacos and I said il bring some starters /wedges/dips,and a few little ready made cocktails.
He said he will buy some tequila for margaritas..then says shall we go halfs on the cost of the margarita ingredients?
I'm sorry but I think that's stingy?
Aibu?

Oh yes, text him this: "Your mean and tight, and it just doesn't feel right"

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Kellyohojn · 07/10/2017 10:17

You lot are so funny Grin
I'm waiting for a text back now

So sorry to be sat here chuckling at your predicament Kelly. No wonder he is single. I agree, pull the plaster today and enjoy a lovely evening. If he asks why he is dumped maybe give him some honesty just so he stands a chance in the future with some poor soul.

RosyPony · 07/10/2017 10:23

By 'text' you mean 'invoice'. Dates have a 24 hour cancellation policy or they're billed in full 😎

Kellyohojn · 07/10/2017 10:23

I met a friend last week and it was early morning as we were going shopping and had to get the early train.
I got us both a coffee and a breakfast sandwich ...imagine if I had taken the recipt and asked for the price of sausage.

Rosy pony- he's probably stricter the booking.com Grin

Dementedswan · 07/10/2017 10:28

He's probably frantically trying to return the items he's bought so far, so don't be surprised if he doesn't reply.

Poisongirl81 · 07/10/2017 10:30

I wouldn't be surprised if he still asked for a contribution to what he's bought. Let us know

SparklyMagpie · 07/10/2017 10:33

Maybe, just maybe he's currently got all the items on the kitchen counter trying to decide which price he could knock off as a good will gesture to keep you sweet?

Wouldn't surprise me Grin he will probably charge you just for the fact he'd already purchased the ingredients

Floppy dick fisted tool

Mummyoflittledragon · 07/10/2017 10:33

He’s probably going to have a go at you about all his money going to waste! Well done for cancelling. Onwards and upwards.

Motoko · 07/10/2017 10:34

Oh god, definitely don't tell him he's a nice guy! He's not. I do think you should tell him that being so tight is not an attractive trait and is probably why he's never had a long term relationship. You never know, he might think on it and treat his next date better. Unlikely I know, but at least he'll know where he's going wrong.

How much does fake tan cost!”?

pasturesgreen · 07/10/2017 10:42

Yay!! Glad to hear you're having a pizza and movie night, OP. Stingy Fake Tan Man can try and return his tequila if he's so bothered Grin

MagicFajita · 07/10/2017 10:47

I've just checked my groceries app , an individual lime costs 2p more than a lemonGrin

crimsonlake · 07/10/2017 10:49

I detest meanness in a person. I started seeing someone a while back who I had suspicions kept disappearing to the toilet when it was time to pay the bill. Finally straw after a couple of weeks, he invited me out to lunch and let me pay. I do not mind paying but if someone invites you I think it is fair that they should insist on paying. At the time I was struggling a little financially and would have been happy making a sandwich for us since he had called round to mine. When we got home he expected to jump on my bones...not and that was the end of him.

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 07/10/2017 10:55

Whoever said posts like this make them cross, I agree. You’re selling yourself so short OP. He’s a cunt. Not only is he so tight he squeaks when he walks but he dares to tell you to use fake tan and bring sexy clothes! Hmm

Find your self respect and tell him to fuck off. You deserve far better than this and you know it.

Slimthistime · 07/10/2017 10:59

a poem, you say?

You're so mean
can't even share ice cream
you offer half an egg
I say, dude, you can beg
but your cheaper tequila
won't sway me
even if you did shell out for tacos
Please don't bill me
it won't kill me
but it will make you look an even bigger knob than you do already.

Aeroflotgirl · 07/10/2017 11:02

😂😂😂😂😂 slime fantastic poem.

Gemini69 · 07/10/2017 11:04

I'm so glad you ain't going Lady Flowers

enjoy your Saturday evening Grin

Poisongirl81 · 07/10/2017 11:08

Scrooge like and floppy
Your manners are sloppy
You charge for tequila
You're one tight arsed geeza

You think your a charming prince
Only a cunt would charge for mince
Half an egg!
You're pulling my leg

Take your tightness im staying in
I hope the ingredients go in the bin
Fake tan and clothes - you're a plank
The only thing you'll be having tonight is a wank!

Some excellent poetry!!

I think you should spell it out to him why you are ditching him.
Some people are always going to be skin flints but you could let him know how unappealing it really is.however don't be swayed into another date. There are plenty more men out there with a more realistic view on sharing the finances in a relationship.

Good luck!

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 07/10/2017 11:22

"I've been thinking about this and you seem like a nice guy but I don't think we are compatible,I hope you find someone better suited in the future"
No no no, please don't tell him he seems like a nice guy because he doesn't really does he. Tell him the truth. Tell him you find the penny pinching a huge turn off, especially considering he saves £700 a month! That you don't like being told you should get a fake tan as you're too pale, or being told what to wear. Fuck's sake, you've only had 10 dates with him yet he keeps doing things that put you off, so I suspect he'd done something twatty in every date eh?

ny20005 · 07/10/2017 11:25

I think you need to tell him the truth as well. He’s obviously never going to learn otherwise. Thinks he’s just been unlucky.

Maybe he could learn to change - not for you but got the next one

eternalopt · 07/10/2017 11:27

Omg. Definitely ditch and tell him why. Half an egg FFS!! Enjoy your starters, dessert, pizza and saving!!
