This has probably been done a million times but I'm curious.

Would also like to know your reasons why.

Everyone says I'm both in the wrong era. Sounds so clique but I love Bowie and Dylan hense my username

Both = born (doing this with a baby laid on me)

Very difficult but probably Paul Simon (whole of career) and Pink Floyd (whole of career). Why? Because I love the music.

PutTheBunnyBackInTheBox · 30/09/2017 20:36

Aerosmith. Meatloaf. Guns n' Roses....and Barry Manilow Blush

Mainly because of the long hair and spandex (not Barry obvs)
Barry Mainlow thanks to Only Fools and Horses.

Freddie is my hero though.

JesusTapdancingChrist · 30/09/2017 20:37

Lady Gaga.

Have just this minute finished watching the Netflix doc and it's reawoken my obsession.

She's just so incredibly talented, creative and hard working and the best live performer I've ever seen.

chipsandpeas · 30/09/2017 20:38

george michael, queen and u2 are my ultimates

raspberrysuicide · 30/09/2017 20:38

Will Young
To me he has the most perfect wonderful voice I've ever heard

DearMrDilkington · 30/09/2017 20:39

Nirvana.

stitchglitched · 30/09/2017 20:40

Tori Amos
Erasure
Michael Jackson
The Killers
REM
Simon and Garfunkel

Bit of an eclectic mix!

shooeghMcFee · 30/09/2017 20:40

I like Will Young too, and George Michael. Also Miles Davis, loads of jazz stuff and Mozart. Love 70's Disco.

PorklessPie · 30/09/2017 20:40

The Beatles.

Changingoftheguard · 30/09/2017 20:40

The great gig in the sky gets me every time and Simon and garfunkel are awesome!

I love rag doll and the older Aerosmith stuff, can't beat a bit of meatloaf of the karaoke but I'm not so familiar with Barry's stuff ...

Marilyn Manson.

I just love the guy.

Jesus have you seen AHS Hotel? She's awesome in it.

DeadDoorpost · 30/09/2017 20:41

PSY. Don't have a good enough reason but I just love his music. It's on my birth CD list. DH hates me for it Grin

YokoReturns · 30/09/2017 20:41

The Beatles. Favourite album Revolver.

They are just the most important musicians of the C20th. They tried everything, they changed everything, pop was never the same again.

NotACleverName · 30/09/2017 20:41

Depeche Mode and/or Kasabian.

JesusTapdancingChrist · 30/09/2017 20:42

Joff I was utterly transfixed by her in AHS.

It's full of amazing actors like Denis O'Hare and Kathy Bates and Gaga outshone them all. She is just pure star power and magnetism.

YokoReturns · 30/09/2017 20:43

(Despite my fave band being the Beatles, I love an eclectic mix of soul, funk, disco, reggae, electro, 80s, indie and the kitchen sink, basically!)

PorklessPie · 30/09/2017 20:45

Forgot my put my reasons why Blush. First heard the song free as a bird when I was 10 (96). It just started a huge obsession. I was ridiculed through school after doing a presentation on them when I was 13 Sad. But I wasn't one to fit in anyway. This will out me (but I post nothing of interest anyway). But 3 of my children have Beatles names Grin

formerbabe · 30/09/2017 20:46

George Michael and Whitney Houston

StaySexyDontGetMurdered · 30/09/2017 20:46

I like Will Youngs voice but not over keen on his songs. He's fab live, very talented.

I like the older bands too op. I love a bit of fleetwood mac & Queen. I have to say the carpenters as Karen's voice is just so 🤤🤤🤤

fishchipspeasandgravy · 30/09/2017 20:48

Paul Heaton. From the Housemartins who I loved from aged about 6, through the Beautiful South and current stuff with Jacqui Abbott. Soundtrack to my whole life.

CorSie · 30/09/2017 20:48

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Hole...

Let DD listen to all my fave music while she was still in my belly and played it loads since she's been born, and what does she like? Little bloody Mix! Sigh....

Changingoftheguard · 30/09/2017 20:50

I love hearing people's tastes in music and their reasons!

I remember watching mansons take on tainted love when I was about 12, started wearing crosses and becoming a bit of a so-called goth at school.

Oh how could I forget the chili peppers! One day I will do Route 66 listening to scar tissue.

Pink Floyd. Beatles and their early solo stuff. Simply Red when they were recognised for being an actual band and not just a Mick Hucknall outlet. Neil Diamond - a distinctive and strong baritone although not always a gifted wordsmith. Kate Bush for her songs, not her vocals. And the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Elton John and Eric Clapton for their sheer longevity. Likewise the Rolling Stones. Rod Stewart, on the other hand, should have packed it in in 1990, before his American Songbook phase.
