Or rather the parents that chose it?

Overheard in the local shop a young girl (8ish) telling her friend that her new baby brother is being called....Kaiser. She wasnt joking.

A woman on my postnatal ward named her son Trigger, I kid you not. Said she'd heard it on a TV show Smile

Jeffstar79 · 17/09/2017 21:32

Took me a while to work out Dd2's new friend in reception was Nasri and not Nursery.

Mamabear4180 · 17/09/2017 21:32

jaseyraex · 17/09/2017 21:33

jollygoose · 17/09/2017 21:35

We have a cousin called "Etre" whatever were her parents thinking.

I know of a teenage Avril who has a July birthday, and my former piano/keyboard teacher is also an Avril Smile

whichwaynow82 · 17/09/2017 21:45

I had two Kaiser's in my year at secondary school. Spelt Kaysir and Quasir. Islamic names - pronounced 'kaysir' or 'kefir'

BlondeB83 · 17/09/2017 21:45

I know an Avril.

A name I hate is Nevaeh, heaven spelt backwards, just awful.

whichwaynow82 · 17/09/2017 21:45

Kesir

LadyWire · 17/09/2017 21:45

DD's classmate's sister was Colette, not collect. Also remember a school friend of mine back in the day thinking the vice president of the US was Dank Whale... anyone remember Dan Quayle 😂😂😂

midnightmisssuki · 17/09/2017 21:47

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 17/09/2017 21:49

Rory Lyons at ds's old primary
And a Sigourney, a Mercedes
I went to school with a St John Goldfingle

You do realise that the car was named after the founder's daughter Mercédès.

drspouse · 17/09/2017 21:54

My DS came home from nursery aged about 3, little X in my room has a new baby too!
Oh that's nice I said, is it a boy or a girl.
It's a boy.
And what's his name?
Let's say DD's name is Sophie
"Sophie" says DS.

PyongyangKipperbang · 17/09/2017 21:56

My knowledge of WWI is anything but simplistic, probably why my first thought was of Wilhelm II. And my kids names are all classic names (of the Henry/George/Elizabeth sort). Probably considered dull but I figure that they will never be judged on a choice I made.

For some reason Portia spelled Porsche annoys me hugely.

What would you think if you met a wilhelm then?

Mandatorymongoose · 17/09/2017 22:03

I know a baby Caesar. I don't care what other people call their children but it always makes me think of dog food (I know the spelling is different).

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 17/09/2017 22:04

I really hope his sister is called Ruby. Wink

Flyingbellycopters · 17/09/2017 22:04

Beats twins I know called Tia and.... yep ... Maria.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 17/09/2017 22:06

Mandatorymongoose They were originally going to call him Mr Dog so I guess it's an improvement Grin
