Or rather the parents that chose it?

Overheard in the local shop a young girl (8ish) telling her friend that her new baby brother is being called....Kaiser. She wasnt joking.

OP posts:

As mentioned up-thread, Kaiser is the German spelling for Caesar and also the correct pronunciation, as per Greek transliteration of Roman documents: i.e. Old Gaius Julius himself pronounced it Kaiser. The Russians spell it Tzar or Czar or sometimes Tsar or Csar and even created a feminine form: Tsarina.

Jesus 😂😂😂

Tartyflette · 17/09/2017 20:39

Ttbb baked goods? Do you mean a kaiser roll? They are not at all common in the UK. I've only ever had them in Austria or the U.S.

x2boys · 17/09/2017 20:39

I'm not sure Paislee is any worse than Aubree or Watson though (yes I watch too much teen mom ) none of them would be my choice admittedly.

Alisvolatpropiis · 17/09/2017 20:40

Oh god, there may well be people who think I've called my child Lala (how a toddler friend says her name) or RaRa (how she says her name) walking around. I've definitely referred to her as both of these things/she has referred to herself as such 😂

SalamiSandwich · 17/09/2017 20:43

Neither come close to the awful name a DC has recently been given in the family though.

Spill!

VeryCunningStunt · 17/09/2017 20:48

I've heard worse

I've heard a lot worse

Don't leave us hanging! Tell! Grin

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 17/09/2017 20:49

I just cannot imagine naming a kid after the honour title of the bad guy in WWI.

I doubt the child's parents know much about WW1.

Imagine calling your kid King or Emperor..it's a name the Jacksons would use for one of their offspring - still can't get over Jermajesty, now there's a travesty.

rumplestiltskins · 17/09/2017 20:49

My dog's called Kaiser. I can't take Jenelle from TM2 seriously when she's talking about her son as all I can think about is my idiot pup! Grin

rumplestiltskins · 17/09/2017 20:50

Jermagesty 😂😂

rumplestiltskins · 17/09/2017 20:51

Oops *jermajesty

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 17/09/2017 20:52

My DD's friend insisted that her new baby sister was called Organ.........it was Morgan actually.

maras2 · 17/09/2017 20:53

DD (age 6) told anyone who would listen that her new brother was called

  1. Rajbinder 2)Loretta 3)Rumplestilskin 4)Eric. The kid's are now in their 40's and DD's brother is still none of those names Smile
WelliesAndPyjamas · 17/09/2017 20:53

I have come across two, OP! One of them has a brother called Dante!

SocksRock · 17/09/2017 20:53

Took me a while to convince DS that his new cousin wasn't called Tuna. His name is Jonah...

karmacoma1 · 17/09/2017 20:54

I don't think Kaiser is tgat bad.

DH Sat in the local walk in centre today, and witnessed two kids who were playing up, and were scolded by their mother " Farrari! Lotus! Sit down and shut up!"

The worst I've heard myself is 'Armarni' Confused

fuckingroundabout · 17/09/2017 20:54

I get a lot of flack for having a maximus:(

TheAntiBoop · 17/09/2017 20:55

I think it's more ignorant to only associate the word with the 'bad guy' in ww1. Not only does that dismiss hundreds of years of history but also shows a simplistic understanding of the origins of ww1

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 17/09/2017 20:55

I know of a "Nirvana" cant say his siblings name, it'll out me.

fuckingroundabout · 17/09/2017 20:55

Although he is currently known purely as "baby" thanks to big sister.

VeryCunningStunt · 17/09/2017 20:57

A sister called Pearl [Jam]? Grin

DollyPS · 17/09/2017 20:59

Well it can't be any worse than being called Spurgeon, but they are a fundamentalist family so he won't see any school as he'll be home schooled and I use that term loosely.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 17/09/2017 20:59

A sister called Pearl [Jam]?

Ha no, but I do know someone with a daughter called Pearl.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 17/09/2017 21:00

Dolly, his brother's middle name is Wilberforce. Thank god his first name is Henry. They have a cousin called, Israel.

fuckingroundabout · 17/09/2017 21:01

The duggar kids names are bonkers.
