AIBU- Someone has used my unusual baby name

I wanted my baby to have a one of a kind unique name.
I made up a name that I love. It's definetly never been used before.
(I realise this sounds dodgy already)

Anyway, my baby is 7 months old and someone in my town has just given birth and used the name.
I actually feel really gutted about it.

I realise I am about to be flamed in the comments.
BUt how can I feel less gutted about this? Meh

Is it........Rumplestiltskin😆

Rudedog · 09/09/2017 21:25

Farrah! I was hoping for Fanjo at least...

Even I've met a farrah (must be about 20 now)

UsedtobeFeckless · 09/09/2017 21:25

Efluvia is a lovely name for a girl ... Grin

Hugepeppapigfan · 09/09/2017 21:25

Okay so now we know the name. YABU!

Mummaofboys · 09/09/2017 21:25

lol Jagwa.. hope not!

namechangedforthisreply · 09/09/2017 21:26

Didn't expect Farrah Smile

toffee1000 · 09/09/2017 21:26

Yeah, you have to have been living under a rock to realise Farrah had "definitely" never been used before. A little unusual in today's world of Sophies and Emilys and Lily-Mays, but not totally out there.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 09/09/2017 21:26

What? It's Farrah? Grin
This is the most disappointing MN reveal ever.

bevelino · 09/09/2017 21:26

This is a wind up and the thread is pointless. If not, OP would declare the name.

wonderingsoul · 09/09/2017 21:26

I actually quite like L-a(ray) prounched LLll-ray

UsedtobeFeckless · 09/09/2017 21:27

Shit, Farrah - really? Boring! Never watched ancient Charlie's Angles, OP?

GriefLeavesItsMark · 09/09/2017 21:27

Where I work I get to see lots of children's names, and nothing in the way of youniqness surprises me anymore. Although when I see twins with virtually identical names such as Oliver and Olivia (not actual examples, but you get the jist) I do raise my eyebrows.

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 09/09/2017 21:27

I teach one, she's 11.

BackieJerkhart · 09/09/2017 21:28

You thought you'd made up Farrah?? Confused really?? You had never heard farrah before? I know 3 girls under 4 called farrah. I know of Farrah fawcett, Mo Farrah, and the girl from teen moms a few seasons back called Farrah.

Do you not have TV? Or internet? Or speak to people?

YorkieButtons · 09/09/2017 21:28

Just call her Tap- job done :)

C0untDucku1a · 09/09/2017 21:28

Well that was disappointing. Kafata is amazing though Grin

GinAndToast · 09/09/2017 21:28

I named my little one a very unusual name - 50 babies only a year are made it max, so while not made up utterly unique, it's unusual enough!

But it pissed me off that a few years later, a celebrity used the same.

But luckily, it hasn't taken off and it's not become popular 😂

Seriously, you just have to suck it up and hope they are not going to the same school.

YorkieButtons · 09/09/2017 21:28

Or Farrah backwards....

Harraf- then she will be totally unique Grin

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 09/09/2017 21:28

Also, I live in Boringsville. If it's reached here, it's not unusual.

arethereanyleftatall · 09/09/2017 21:29

There were 13,000 fara's in 2016, 609 farah's, and 1000 farrah's.
According to baby centre.
Lovely name, but rather farfetched to get upset if anyone else names their child after a name in every baby list.

AldiAisleOfCrap · 09/09/2017 21:29

Do you not watch teen mom op?

Oysterbabe · 09/09/2017 21:29

But it's definetly a new word. Not a crazy spelling of an existing name.
Not exotic or what some may refer to as 'chavvy'. Could pass for a surname I guess but cute.

Hmm could pass for a surname... Can anyone think of someone with the surname Farrah? 🤔

DjangoUnchained · 09/09/2017 21:29

Farrah reminds me of peas and I have no idea why!

It always has, can anyone help shed any light?

BarbaraofSevillle · 09/09/2017 21:29

I'm just disappointed no-one on that other thread suggested Fawcett-Majors as baby Farrah's middle name.

I didn't realise she'd died Sad (Farrah Fawcett that is)
