AIBU- Someone has used my unusual baby name

MmmmDonuts · 09/09/2017 20:32

I wanted my baby to have a one of a kind unique name.
I made up a name that I love. It's definetly never been used before.
(I realise this sounds dodgy already)

Anyway, my baby is 7 months old and someone in my town has just given birth and used the name.
I actually feel really gutted about it.

I realise I am about to be flamed in the comments.
BUt how can I feel less gutted about this? Meh

Jonquil is French for daffodil

Maudlinmaud · 09/09/2017 20:50

Pfffffffffiiiiiiaaaaaa. This is a good game.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 09/09/2017 20:50

Would you like us to help think up some more names? There may well be a creation you prefer.

Um...

Meeowa? That might be better for a kitten, though

BackieJerkhart · 09/09/2017 20:50

I know a couple who put two 'random' syllables together to make a unique baby name. Turns out the two syllables made a perfectly normal name they just hadn't heard before and the child ended up being one of 4 in her class (only difference was the weird spelling).

What was the name? Grin

bimbobaggins · 09/09/2017 20:50

Are you telling us the name then.!?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 09/09/2017 20:51

If you wanted your child to stand out.
You'd have been best off calling him
Something like Jon or Paul

Runningbutnotscared · 09/09/2017 20:51

If it's ballonz I will die laughing and wake up the baby....but it will be worth it.
What's the name please?

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 09/09/2017 20:51

I knew a woman who wanted to call her first born son Pashley.

PicklingGherkins · 09/09/2017 20:51

Found it for those who wish to revisit www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/2197937-Help-Difficult-choice-of-boys-names-Sean-Daniel-or-Balonz

SophieofShepherdsBush · 09/09/2017 20:52

......I'd like to know what the name is before commenting......

Place marked.

WanderlustW · 09/09/2017 20:52

I would be a wee bit upset if someone close to me 'stole' my baby name but it's just life isn't it, there are only so many names! I doubt very much you made it up, and I agree we need to know what the name is!

readyforno2 · 09/09/2017 20:52

You have to tell us the name op!

ShatnersBassoon · 09/09/2017 20:52

Baby Spud-Spud?

JustHereForThePooStories · 09/09/2017 20:53

Butterae-Spudulika?

BellMcEnd · 09/09/2017 20:53

Is it Epponnee-Rae?

RebootYourEngine · 09/09/2017 20:53

Placemarking for name.

I do hope that it is not called something like ToeNail or DuvetCover

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 09/09/2017 20:53

Oh and she thought she made the name Pashley up.

Maudlinmaud · 09/09/2017 20:53

Anyone want me to name their baby? I'm on fire here. On fire I tell you!

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 09/09/2017 20:54

Wait - if they had seen Guy written down and didn't know how to pronounce it, they would still be able to spell it, because they had seen it written down. No? It's only three letters to remember, surely.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 09/09/2017 20:54

Is it VeeDee?

Liskee · 09/09/2017 20:54

JUST TELL US THE NAME!

Please Wink

FerretsAreFeminists · 09/09/2017 20:55

SteampunkPrincess · 09/09/2017 20:55

MrsJoyOdell · 09/09/2017 20:55
