@GinaFordCortina
Thank you - re second paragraph.
Not sure why people on mumsnet feel the need to pick on people for smiling.

Lweji · 09/08/2017 19:43

And why couldn't Georgie Boy feed the fish if he's going to be there assembling furniture anyway?

I'm telling you. It was a set up.

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 09/08/2017 19:48

I think you might be right, Lweji! But Georgie Boy must have been in on it as he brought enough wine for 3 people to get absolutely hammered on in his van. Unless they raided the GP's booze cabinet of course, which is frankly cheeky as fuck, and not exactly paying the GPs back for their love, is it?

Batteriesallgone · 09/08/2017 19:55

The GPs made it clear they were all welcome to the wine.

Can't see why it would be cheeky as fuck to make themselves at home, the GS knows them well maybe they are very hospitable people.

NapQueen · 09/08/2017 20:08

Maybe they planned this all along as theyve been wanting to set their Grandson up for some time.

Rachie1986 · 09/08/2017 20:10

Can you keep us updated on your budding relationship with George OP??

cailisto · 09/08/2017 20:29

This has to be THE strangest but most brilliant thread that I've ever read!!!!

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 09/08/2017 20:29

The GPs made it clear they were all welcome to the wine

Er, where and when?

And would you get absolutely ratarsed on someone else's wine - someone you barely know - even if they had said that?

MoonfaceAndSilky · 09/08/2017 20:52

And why couldn't Georgie Boy feed the fish if he's going to be there assembling furniture anyway? Confused

Because it was much easier to get the random cyclist from miles away to do it, silly

GinaFordCortina · 09/08/2017 21:14

How many days is he expected to be doing flat pack??

GinaFordCortina · 09/08/2017 21:15

I would feel entitled to get rat arsed in someone else's wine if they'd locked me in their house tbh

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 09/08/2017 21:25

To be honest, so would I really, Gina

squattingposition · 09/08/2017 21:30

So I live 3 miles away and oh my god shoot me now for making small talk with an old couple one day while riding by on my bike!

They asked me a question while I was riding by about the village and what is available there or something.

I don't ride my bike everyday just when the weathers nice and FYI I've lost 6 stone over the last 2 years following slimming world online because surprise fucking surprise my nearest slimming world group is shock horror no where near me but about a 15 min walk from Nando's !!!! ShockShockShock

We started on the wine that was left in the fridge I had just the one glass while sat on the dryer having a much needed smoke out of the utility room window when my friend arrived! To be honest I didn't think it would hurt and they had actually given me 2 bottles of wine as favours when I've picked up grocerys for them on the way back on my bike.

As well as IKEA they must have a cheeky trip round Costco too because the wine they had stocked was excessive! BUT if you lived where we lived then you have to bulk buy a lot of things.

"But OP don't you need a business to get a Costco membership?"

Why yes assholepersistantposter you are in fact completely correct! If they had got the bulk collection of wine (I'm talking the £5 a bottle wine) from Costco I'm guessing they would use grandsons business?

The flatpack would have taken a day if that and grandson didn't know which day he would be coming over to fit in his schedule so that's why they thought best to ask a neighbour.

Yes a neighbour 3 mile away but a neighbour who always brings back correct change or sometimes their debit card upon returning from the village!

I can't see me being an opportunist theif when it's pretty obvious and not hard to find where I live and risk going to prison having my beautiful house taken away!

I need wine now and a Chinese takeaway Confused

Ahhhhhh crap Just eat says my order will be delivered in 3-4hours 45 minutes.

They are usually a bit early though Hmm

Oh that's ok it will give me enough time to walk very slowly to June and Richards to steal a bottle of wine using the front door key Grin

And the fish?

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 09/08/2017 21:37

Well done on the amazing weight loss, OP, I'm going to be checking out Slimming World online!

squattingposition · 09/08/2017 21:37

WindyWednesday · 09/08/2017 21:49

Well it's keeping some happy. Seriously pop along to classics and read some of the threads.

Best thing I've ever read. I almost wish it was me.. I quite fancy a rural address and a bike with a basket.

user1497557435 · 09/08/2017 22:41

They are your neighbours but you live 3 miles away?

GreenTulips · 09/08/2017 22:55
