Apparently the whole country is waiting to celebrate her birthday (according to ITV)
Well Dh certainly isn't!
He was a big fan when he was a lad, and went to see her in a pantomime.
Waiting at the stage door after the show for an autograph with other star struck youngsters, she came out and told them all to Piss Off and clear off home Shock
He said she was the most horrible, rude person and that he never watched her in anything again.
Which celebs have you met that didn't match up to the pedestal you had them on?

Oh and Peter Capaldi - hug given!? Lovely!
David Tennant - knew he would be nice.

LogicalPsycho · 14/07/2017 19:44

DS met Brian Cox, and said that he was really kind and friendly. He posed for a photograph, and even took the time to answer a couple of science questions DS had- he has Asperger's and it made his year Smile

Which Brian Cox, the doctor or the actor?

WinnieTheWitch50 · 14/07/2017 19:45

Bumped into Alan Rickman in Tate Modern, he was lovely and friendly.

BlackHarry · 14/07/2017 19:45

And Ronnie off Eastenders, horrible.

MagicMoneyTree · 14/07/2017 19:46

BlackHarry you can kind of understand the ones who get hassled in a restaurant or whatever, but at your own book signing?! Put on your happy face ffs!!

uppityupupup · 14/07/2017 19:46

Oh yes! As a poor student I used to be a seat-filler at award shows.

My friend and I were next to David Tennant and Bernard Cribbins.

They volunteered us their biscuits as they had seen us stashing food into our bags for the tube home... lovely men, both.

glitterglitters · 14/07/2017 19:47

Dh saw Dominic West (McNulty from the wire and Muppets Christmas Carol obvs) at Glastonbury a few years ago. He saw someone go to say "oooh you're...." and he told them "FUCK OFF"

We also saw Matt Alwright at the same Glastonbury and he was not only legendary but also responded to my tweet weeks later being legendary.

glitterglitters · 14/07/2017 19:48

Also Piers Morgan paid people at my uni £20 to stand and talk to him in the bar after he gave a lecture on journalism.

Easiest £20 I made. 😂

LogicalPsycho · 14/07/2017 19:48

@JustadaftProfessor I always forget there's two Brians! The Doctor Smile

Which Brian Cox, the doctor or the actor?

Erm...science is mentioned so I am assuming the lovely Prof!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 14/07/2017 19:49

Lovely people:
Elton John (met him in the 80s as a child and he was really friendly)
David Beckham (in his Man U days, he bought me a drink and happily posed for pics)
Michael Gove (hate his politics but he is charming and remembers you even if he's only met you once)
Nick Clegg (held door open for me coming out of work one night, I was a fair distance from the door and he stood waiting)
Samantha Cameron (did the normal new mum thing of taking baby to meet colleagues, let us all have a cuddle of baby Florence)
Marti Pellow (waited at the stage door for him after seeing him in Evita, he must have been knackered but still signed autographs and posed for pics with everyone who waited, and he gives good hug)
Geoff Capes, Bobby Davro, Kenny Lynch (met all through work when they were at a charity event, really friendly and down to earth)

Arseholes:
Alex Ferguson (rude, obnoxious, and no interest in anyone else)
Liam Gallagher (ditto)
Bruce Forsyth (my cousin served him in a shop once and said he treated the staff like shit)

JustadaftProfessor · 14/07/2017 19:50

science is mentioned so I am assuming the lovely Prof!

I always imagine him as a nice guy.

uppityupupup · 14/07/2017 19:51

Zoe Lyons, Issy Suttie and Jo Neary are all lovely.

Josie Long is just the best.

nina2b · 14/07/2017 19:51

Liam horrible!?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

CremeFresh · 14/07/2017 19:52

Suzi Quattro was absolutely vile. I was ill in bed once and DH came home with a get well soon card that had been signed by Pauline Quirk. He'd seen her in a shop , quickly bought a card and asked her to sign it- she wrote a proper message too.

nina2b · 14/07/2017 19:52

Alex Ferguson - pfft. He looks like an ogre.

nina2b · 14/07/2017 19:53

Loving the Michael Gove one!! Lollol

nina2b · 14/07/2017 19:53

Excuse the lollolBlush

YokoReturns · 14/07/2017 19:54

DH chucked Liam Gallagher out of Our Price once - he was smoking (DH was staff Grin). Totally fine about it apparently!

stuntcamel · 14/07/2017 19:55

Mel C and VB both lovely and chatty, Chris Tarrant obnoxious, Rick Parfitt an absolute gem and very funny, heard from a friend who worked in tv that Lenny Henry was nice, and another panto chum said that Bradley Walsh was horrible. A friend met Henry the Fonz Winkler in the street once and she said he was really smiley and charming.

kennypppppppp · 14/07/2017 19:56

Michael Caine and David Gandy were lovely when I met them.

Anthea turner: exactly the plop face you'd imagine.

Nicky Clarke: bell end

Lawrence fox: saw him in the pub years and years ago. He was there with his laptop and loads of locals all huddled round him. I was tempted to say "doesn't billie let you watch porn at home?" But thought the better of it. (It was a gorgeous pub)

LockedOutOfMN · 14/07/2017 19:56

uppityupupup
Josie Long is just the best.

Agree. And really funny in real life, unlike some comedians.

Windycityblues · 14/07/2017 19:56

My DH says Pierce Brosnan was lovely, very gracious and charming. He responded with a handwritten note and invite to visit film set in response to some chocolates my DH sent him from a workplace where a bond film was being filmed. He has man crush!

uppityupupup · 14/07/2017 19:56

This one won't be popular I suspect, buuuuut Alastair Campbell is so charming. As charming as he is tall. And he's very tall.
