Apparently the whole country is waiting to celebrate her birthday (according to ITV)
Well Dh certainly isn't!
He was a big fan when he was a lad, and went to see her in a pantomime.
Waiting at the stage door after the show for an autograph with other star struck youngsters, she came out and told them all to Piss Off and clear off home Shock
He said she was the most horrible, rude person and that he never watched her in anything again.
Which celebs have you met that didn't match up to the pedestal you had them on?

Annie Lennox is warm & lovely but doesn't suffer fools.

Kylie M cries...a lot.

Patriciathestripper1 · 25/07/2017 21:32

Oooo prophet what does K cry about!

To Prettybird.

BabychamSocialist · 25/07/2017 21:55

Yep, as I mentioned upthread, Clinton is brilliant. I never 'got' why Monica Lewinsky went with him until I met him! I was ready to run away with him then and there. AND he remembered my name five years later when I met him again (I'd like to think it's because I'm so brilliant, but more likely he just never forgets a woman ever)

Helendee · 25/07/2017 22:03

Aussie cricketer Shane Warne stopped his car to let me cross the road, I was pushing a little girl I was childminding at the time. He wound down his window, gave me a cheeky wink and said "What a cutie and the baby's ok too". Smile

Lanaorana2 · 25/07/2017 22:19

Bill Nighy - Jheeze, so sexy and charming.

He looks better IRL, to boot. Relentless hotness.

YouTheCat · 25/07/2017 22:43

One of my brothers' friends saw Annie Lennox in a shop in London in the 90s. Agog, he asked if she was really Annie Lennox and she replied 'not today, it's my day off' - which I think is fair enough. Grin

Willow2017 · 25/07/2017 22:55

Bill Nighy
So glad he is nice in RL got a huge secret crush on him just knew he was lovely 😀

Shockers · 25/07/2017 23:11

Monty Don was lovely when I met him. It was after he spoke at an afternoon tea, so he was probably prepared, but he gave my arm a lovely reassuring squeeze when we had our photo taken.

DH has worked with Lulu. He said she was incredibly nervous about losing her footing on the stairs to the stage and he had to take her hand and lead her. This was shortly after the Madonna incident, so that was probably on her mind.

paulafvk · 25/07/2017 23:19

It's so refreshing to see someone else take offence at Bill Oddie!! My son (now 22) loved him at age 7 and was so excited to see him at a bird fair, asked for his autograph and Bill gave him a filthy look and walked away my lad was heartbroken! I've hated that man since.

HelenaDove · 25/07/2017 23:33

Bill Nighy i SO would.

I strongly suggest you read this interview Lana and Willow.

Bill Nighy - what a lovely interview. Thanks for posting.

fussychica · 26/07/2017 12:14

So glad Bill Nighy is lovely. He's the only man who is older than me that I fancy. That voice makes me melt.

I really don't think it's fair to just say someone is 'vile' or 'horrible' without giving some context.

For instance if you approached a celeb who was trying to have dinner with their wife, or play with their child in the park, and started pestering them for selfies or autographs then I think. it is perfectly understandable for them to be a bit 'off' and say 'no'.

On the other hand, if you approached a celeb when they were leaving the theatre and were told to 'fuck off' then that is inexcusable really.

So, some context please. Otherwise some celebs are probably being unfairly maligned on here.

Iggypupper · 26/07/2017 13:40

Where Im from (Dublin) its seen as very uncool to approach a celeb. Most people dont. Ive seen Colin Farrell out and about a few times close to where I used to work. Hes drop dead gorgeous, nobody bothers him. Also Gabriel Byrne. Bono. Johnny Logan ( anyone remember him!!) Who strolls around in leather trousers, must be in his 60s. Have met Jared Leto, nice enough to sign an autograph ( back in my teen years) but looked terrified to have been recognised & quickly left. Met Aerosmith, all lovely. Met keyboard player in Bon Jovi, nice enough to stand for a photo. Great city for celeb spotting albeit from a distance!

Shockers · 26/07/2017 13:40

I once sat on a table adjacent to Jimmy Osmond. He looked eager for folks to say hello, but I have a policy of not doing so unless that person is working. I would make an exception for Paul Weller though Grin.

Iggypupper · 26/07/2017 13:43

Oh and Bill Clinton! Yes he is very tall!

Linds33 · 26/07/2017 14:27

My brother asked Russell Brand for a photo in Cornwall. He told him he was too busy and carried on walking. My brother was gutted and is no longer a fan. He once met the whole Liverpool team, he asked Danny Murphy what car he drove and Danny took him to see it in the car park! He was delighted!

Linds33 · 26/07/2017 14:31

At a theme park a few weeks ago with the kids and in front of us in a queue stood Lucy Jo Hudson and Alan Halsall. She was absolutely lovely. I'm pregnant and she was asking me loads of questions, talking to the kids and telling them to look after me and bring me lots of food lol. When she was going she looked out for us to say bye. So so nice and not once was it mentioned about her being on TV. Or her husband!

Dowser · 26/07/2017 16:10

Friend and I went to see the levellers a few years back. We set off to go to the loo, on our way to the lift this guy came out of the lift my friend who was slightly behind me, suddenly spurted in front of me, grabbed the guys' hand and started shouting
' oh it's Edward Tudor pole'

Well, I don't know who was more astonished him or me. I marking two middle aged women here, me in fifties, her in 40sand it was hardly Richard gere.

He took it very well. I wanted the floor to swallow me up!

Dowser · 26/07/2017 16:12

Am in york right now and am really disappointed I'll never have the opportunity to chat to David best
I thought he was brilliant.

user1485342611 · 26/07/2017 16:13

Yoga how could your driver know that Mary Berry is a cold business woman. Presumably he drives her from A to B, so would have no serious business dealings with her. Sounds like hearsay and gossip to me.

Apologies if I'm wrong but I think it can be so easy for a celeb to get a bad name simply because they don't gush all over people and sometimes like to stay quiet and private when they're off camera.

Dowser · 26/07/2017 16:36

Gest

monkeysee100 · 27/07/2017 19:48

A D list celeb but I went to school with Matt Johnson who does bits and pieces for This Morning etc.

His anti bullying stance is hugely annoying as he would pick on others mercilessly in school! Horribly vain and very thick.
