Apparently the whole country is waiting to celebrate her birthday (according to ITV)
Well Dh certainly isn't!
He was a big fan when he was a lad, and went to see her in a pantomime.
Waiting at the stage door after the show for an autograph with other star struck youngsters, she came out and told them all to Piss Off and clear off home Shock
He said she was the most horrible, rude person and that he never watched her in anything again.
Which celebs have you met that didn't match up to the pedestal you had them on?

We bumped into Chris Jarvis from cbbc once. I thought he'd be a bit fed up as I'd already spotted him being mobbed down the street, but he couldn't have been lovelier, he chatted with dds, photos etc. A really genuine sweet guy, fab with kids.

Ronnie Corbett was vile to me years ago....i was working as a hotel receptionist in Cheshire and he was staying...he came back from doing a theatre show around 11pm and screamed at me because the chefs had gone home and he'd not eaten....vile nasty little bully !!!!

CherryBlossomPink · 14/07/2017 18:39

Peter Kay visited where I worked a couple of years ago and was very rude and obnoxious to the staff. Was really disappointed as I was a fan prior to that.

islandsandshores · 14/07/2017 18:40

Alexandra Burke is a rude cow.

OverTheHammer · 14/07/2017 18:41

Has anyone met Ricky Gervais? I love him but can't help thinking he's probably a twat in real life!

JemAppelleLafayette · 14/07/2017 18:41

Danny Boyle is lovely! I met him in Selfridges and he indulged my star struck ramblings was so lovely and polite. We chatted for about ten minutes. As he was on his way out he caught me staring at him again and he gave me a wee wave. Grin

DakotaFanny · 14/07/2017 18:41

Terry wogan sent me a lovely "happy 50th" message for my dh when I wrote to him to ask for it. It is a really lovely, personal message in far more detail than I asked for. He died about a week later. It makes me warm inside that he took the time and effort to do that for a total stranger when he must have been so poorly. I have always loved Terry Wogan. I will always love him. What an absolute legend!

Bloomed · 14/07/2017 18:42

Was going to talk about Peter Kay but sounds like someone had the same experience.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/07/2017 18:43

Celebrities shouldn't be in the job. If theyre private people, and can't be bothered.
I mean where would they be now without their fans.

chickensaresafehere · 14/07/2017 18:44

I have met her too & she was very rude & entitled.
I was working at the local theatre bar & she was in a play there.
Was so disappointed.

NeverTwerkNaked · 14/07/2017 18:45

I don't really get why people ask for autographs though! It's a poor way to judge a persons character. It must be crap being asked to sign random bits of paper all the time. It seems a bit of a naff thing to do to be honest, I can see why sometimes they get pissed off by it!

EarlessToothlessVagabond · 14/07/2017 18:45

How lovely about Terry Wogan!

Not many of these Celeb-Twats are a surprise it has to be said.

AntiopeofThemyscira · 14/07/2017 18:46

Jeremy Clarkson did a photo with ex H after he told him how much our son with autism loved him and Top Gear. He wasn't as gracious as he might have been but he still did it when he didn't have to at all especially after ex had belted down the road after him and accosted him. So I have a bit of a soft spot for him now. The photo utterly delighted DS.

Mustardnowletsnotbesilly · 14/07/2017 18:46

From people in the industry apparently Miranda is a totally cow. She has kinda disappeared now though hasn't she. Met Babs at a NHS do once. She was lovely!

Sushi123 · 14/07/2017 18:46

Have heard Bradley Walsh is quite rude, but I don't want it to be true.

IHaveCausedConfusionAndDelay · 14/07/2017 18:46

nina that's really crap about Bill Baileys secretary or whoever it was that replied to your letter. I've met Bill Bailey many times (I consider him a friend, the feeling is probably not mutual!) and he is s really lovely in rl, even if his 'representatives' are bellends.

Namechangetempissue · 14/07/2017 18:46

Jeremy Clarkson is the rudest, most miserable man ever. Met him countless times and he never improves.
Alex James is delightful.
Ben Kingsley is really nice.
Patrick Stewart is twinkly and lovely.
Amanda Holden was standoffish but ok.
Kenneth Brannagh was lovely.
Ricky Gervais was really nice.

ginflumpsandzebraprint · 14/07/2017 18:47

Dennis waterman coming out of post office, my bf idolised him and ran up to say how great he was. He swore at us and threw a lit cigarette at him Angry we were 8 at the time !

tigercub50 · 14/07/2017 18:47

What's that saying about be nice to everyone you meet on the way up as you might bump into them on your way down? Something like that. I guess sometimes they could be having a bad day or just got bad news etc but there is no excuse for shouting or swearing like that

Namechangetempissue · 14/07/2017 18:48

Oh and I've never asked for an autograph, these were all job related

Seren85 · 14/07/2017 18:48

Another one with a Peter Kay experience, two separate occasions (he's local). Very rude. I still loved Car Share though.

PP who mentioned Nigel Havers....he was rude to me to. He walked into me because he wasn't looking where he was going ( too busy swanning around trying to look important) and told me to get out of his way. Rude!

Dawndonnaagain · 14/07/2017 18:48

Dakota, I've met Terry Wogan a number of times, a kind, generous and funny man, always.
Tony Robinson pulled the 'do you know who I am' line. Put me right off him.
As others have said, Jeremy Paxman funny, kind and generous with his time.
Billy Connolly was always funny and generous and stood his round. I wonder if he was having a bad day. I used to hang around with him in the seventies and he was a nice guy.

viques · 14/07/2017 18:49

I was at a health spa with BW once, not with but there at the same time, she paraded around in a bright pink tracksuit and baseball cap the whole time (every one else drifting around in bath robes as you do in a spa) obviously desperate for people to recognise her and point her out. So most people ignored her. It was only after a couple of days I realised that Marie Helvin was also there, but not being a big I am .

MH is beautiful btw even when hot and sweaty!

winglesspegasus · 14/07/2017 18:49

back in the days of the young guns movies
my14yr old niece and i were in santa fe new mexico where the films were done.
she saw lou diamond phillips at a table and very politally excusing herself asked for an autograph.
he pretty much told her to fuck off.
the next day in another cafe christian slater was dining, niece decided not to try.
she went off and i approached him and explained the situation.
he was amazingly gracious called her over pulled a photo out of his pocket signed it to her and asked her a few questions about her life and travelling.she removed ldp from her bedroom walls and christian slater occupied them for years

fast forward 30 yrs same place.lou diamond phillips doing longmire.
he had gotten over himself and was very nice to an older friend who was starstruck...he grew up.
