Thinking of this a bit more
Alan Wells (Scottish Olympic gold medalist from the 1980 Olympics): ride to waiting staff at the hotel I was working in - although his wife was a nightmare much worse.
Dh met Tony Blair in a work context on a few occasions. Arrogant, unbriefed and totally plastic. Couldn't even be bothered to get the name of the projects he was there to take the credit for announce right
Donald Dewar (in a similar context): courteous, well briefed and genuinely seemed to be interested in you and the projects/work involved
as opposed to looking around the room to see if there was anyone more "important"
He was a real loss to Scottish (and UK) politics
I've met Nicola Sturgeon on a number of occasions. She always seems to recognise me (wouldn't go as far as to say she remembers my name
) but always seems genuinely interested in you and that you are important.
Sir Chris Hoy was lovely to ds when they were both involved in a "One Year to Go to the Commonwealth Games" event.
In fact in general the elite cyclists (of all nationalities) are lovely and always have time for the young cyclists/fans. (Caveat: haven't come across Bradley Wiggins).
Ditto with the rugby players - or at least the Glasgow Warriors players.
Dougie Donnelly (Scottish TV commentator): involved in a road rage incident with dh. His reaction was quite shocking and I could never look at his "affable" demeanour in the same way afterwards.
