AIBU to want all my money back?

My son wanted a green hoodie so I went on amazon and ordered him one. This is for the school disco and it is important that it is neon green.

Received the "neon green" hoodie today and it is actually yellow so I contacted them to say I received the wrong item.

They're telling me the yellow one I have received is green and that if I want to return it I'll have to pay the return postage myself and they'll refund my money once they've received it back.

It was only £7.99 so I probably won't bother, especially as the return postage will cost a fair chunk of that. But AIBU to think it is incredibly cheeky to send me the wrong item, try to convince me I'm colour blind and have actually received the correct item, and then try and make me pay for return postage???

Definitely yellow. And tennis balls are yellow too.

Oh god it's 'is the dress x colour or x colour' all over again Confused: it does look green(ish).

Notknownatthisaddress · 01/07/2017 18:47

Sorry but I think the hoodie IS neon green.

Not a bright, rich one, but neon green nevertheless.

I guess next to a kind of pine green it will look yellow.

But next to yellow it looks green.

firawla · 01/07/2017 18:49

If you can't find live chat, email Amazon customer services and ask them to refund the postage, they definitely will. I had the same with a baby teething anklet that wasn't as described because the size was too small. The label said I had to pay postage but I complained and they gave it back.

The hoodie is definitely highlighter yellow. The highlighter pens pic you took shows it v clearly

Damn beat me to it

It looks yellow to me and definitely not the same as they advertised, do they have a yellow one on their selling page? Just wondering what they look like compared to each other?

FUNM · 01/07/2017 18:55

This thread is definitely a story for the Daily Fail to get hold of - "Is it yellow, lime or green!!!??? Hoodie is unrecognisable"

SquedgieBeckenheim · 01/07/2017 19:02

Definitely looks yellow to me!

pamish · 01/07/2017 19:10

Screens vary. Light varies. I could take a green item and photograph it to make it look yellow, or vice versa, by choosing the time of day and type of light - daylight, tungsten, fluorescent etc. And your screen may not be colour-balanced, few are ( mine cost £££ to be able to be set accurately). There's probably a disclaimer that colours can vary from what you see on the screen, if not there should be.

Maybe this has been said in pages 2 to 6 of this thread, I confess I have not read them all....

It's greener than the yellow highlighter

RitaMills · 01/07/2017 19:15

No, it really is as yellow as a yellow highlighter.

Minaktinga · 01/07/2017 19:20

Looks a different Green to me but definitely not as sold.

Snap8TheCat · 01/07/2017 19:22

We ordered this exact same hoody!!

TheObserverOne · 01/07/2017 19:24

I have only read the first page of the thread but OP I would definitely dispute that on amazon, saying it is not as described!! The little strings which pull the hood tight (no idea what they're called) are not even on the picture of the jacket you wanted to purchase! And the pockets are a completely different shape! So it is definitely NOT the jacket you wanted and you can use that as an excuse for your colour blind-ness Wink

Underconstruction · 01/07/2017 19:25

That looks like bike-jacket yellow to me (I've had several) so I'm with you OP. Looks yellow and yes they should cover postage if it's wrong.

FUNM · 01/07/2017 19:26

Definitely GOLD in the sunlight

DixieFlatline · 01/07/2017 19:31

The original photos the OP put up only look like a lime green because of the lighting. If anyone's colour/shade blind it's the people whose brains aren't picking up on the lighting cues in the rest of the picture and then telling them they're actually seeing yellow...

lolalola19 · 01/07/2017 19:37

Yellow green!

eulmh · 01/07/2017 20:25

It's bloody bright yellow!!!

tillytown · 01/07/2017 20:41

It's yellow, demand your money back

FrizzyMcFrizzface · 01/07/2017 22:25

It's yellow (in the photo, real life can be different), I have A level art, so there! Grin

If you paid by credit card, this may work?

According to this, you have the right to return but as the item is not faulty, you are liable to pay for the return P&P

Lapinlapin · 01/07/2017 22:45

Looks yellow to me...

MsMarvel · 01/07/2017 22:50

I originally thought it looked green, but I'm glad I RTFT before commenting because after seeing the highlighter pic I'm now completely convinced that its yellow.

beautiebyqueenie · 01/07/2017 22:55

It's neon yellow!

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 01/07/2017 23:33

I think it's yellow. However I could have sworn that tennis balls were green! I'm sure they were in the olden days if not now?

I work with a graphic designer and he'll never let me decide on colours on a screen because every screen will have different settings so it's inaccurate. The image colour will also be affected by settings on the camera it was originally taken on and the lighting.
